Adventure: My Skills Evolve Infinitely
Chapter 139 - 115: Black Rhinoceros Hide Armor
"Alright."
Lin Mo didn’t want to look too deeply into the Dwarf Boss’s explanation.
Perhaps they had some other hidden, special use, but regardless, he had repeatedly confirmed the value of the Crystal Coins before, so there shouldn’t be any problem.
One Crystal Coin could save him 10 Gold Coins. No matter how you looked at it, it was a deal where he couldn’t lose.
Besides a weapon, he should probably upgrade his Armor as well.
The Leather Armor Lin Mo was wearing was of decent quality, but after a period of use, it had already suffered a certain degree of damage. While it was still usable, there was no need to keep using it.
An Adventurer couldn’t be careless when it came to equipment.
"Armor? What are you looking to replace? Leather Armor?"
Hearing this, the Dwarf Boss looked Lin Mo’s gear up and down. "If you’re considering Defense Power, Leather Armor isn’t actually a great choice."
Perhaps because he’d gotten the Crystal Coin, his tone seemed to have softened considerably.
Lin Mo was, of course, aware of this. In fact, many Warriors, including Alton and Ali, would choose Iron Armor for its superior Defense Power.
But his combat style was different from that of a typical Warrior. Besides frontal combat capabilities, he also had to consider mobility and situations requiring stealth and assassination.
The weight of standard Iron Armor wasn’t a major issue for the current Lin Mo, but its bulk would inevitably restrict his movements in combat. It would also make more noise during stealth, increasing the chance of being discovered.
Lin Mo had actually mulled over this problem many times before.
"Can you make custom equipment here?"
"Of course I can. What do you want to commission?"
"A piece of Leather Armor, with the addition of iron vambraces and greaves. Is a combination like that feasible?"
"Ah, you want composite armor. I can put together a ready-made set like that from what I have in the shop."
"What about a small Arm Shield?"
"Got those too. Detachable ones."
"Excellent, excellent!"
Lin Mo’s eyes lit up instantly. ’This city is really something else,’ he thought. ’Much more reliable than Edgar’s shop.’
The Dwarf Boss went to rummage around in the warehouse for a bit and returned with a full set of Armor that met Lin Mo’s requirements.
The quality looked excellent, a significant improvement on what Lin Mo was currently wearing. The main piece, the Leather Armor, was also an Excellent Level piece of equipment with Enhancement Energy.
[Black Rhinoceros Hide Armor]
Equipment Type: Armor
Level: Excellent (Green)
Attributes: Durability +40%, Sturdiness +50%, Flexibility +20%
Hidden Attributes: Rough II: Reduces Piercing Damage taken by 10%.
Equipment Amplification: Power of Black Rhinoceros: When damaged, Constitution +1. Lasts until the end of combat.
’Good stuff!’
The value of this Leather Armor wasn’t much lower than that of the Black Sword.
The other components were also Excellent Level equipment. Although they didn’t have any amplification effects, their intrinsic quality was high enough.
"How much for everything?"
"180 gold coins. Or, if you have Crystal Coins, 1 Crystal Coin plus 55 gold coins."
Lin Mo thought for a moment. Although it was a bit over his budget, this was all excellent equipment. It was definitely a worthwhile purchase.
’As for the Secret Silver Gloves... while they sounded tempting, their practical use isn’t that high until my Magic Level catches up with my other professions. It’s fine to buy them a bit later.’
So, he nodded and paid without hesitation.
For the weapon and Armor, he spent a total of 2 Crystal Coins and 55 Gold Coins.
Just like that, Lin Mo was left with only 206 gold and 58 silver.
"By the way, do you buy used equipment here?"
After changing into his new gear, Lin Mo, hoping to recoup some of his losses, held up his Wolf Bone Sword and his old Leather Armor and asked.
The Dwarf Boss picked up the Wolf Bone Sword and examined it for a moment. "The material is average, and the craftsmanship is average. It hasn’t been tested. If you’re in a hurry to sell, I can only give you a price of 25 gold coins."
He had only spent 30 gold coins to buy this Sword in the first place. Although he’d fleeced Edgar back then and its actual price was higher, considering he had used it for a while and the blade was somewhat worn, the price was quite fair.
"As for this Leather Armor..."
The Dwarf Boss shook his head. "It’s pretty damaged in several places. I can only give you 18 gold coins for it."
The Leather Armor was originally worth nearly 40 gold coins. He had bought it for 32 gold coins, so selling it now for 18 gold coins was acceptable.
"Alright, deal."
In the end, selling the two pieces of equipment earned him back 43 Gold Coins.
"See you later, old timer. I’ll be back."
After bidding farewell to the Dwarf Boss, Lin Mo headed straight for the auction house.
"Hmph!"
The Dwarf snorted. "Don’t come back in unless you’ve got Crystal Coins..."
Of course, he was just joking, which was in keeping with the shop’s rough way of communicating.
The process of consigning the Magic Scroll was simpler than Lin Mo had expected. This was perhaps because things like Magic Scrolls were relatively easy to appraise. In no time, he received a stamped "Consignment Document."
Lin Mo asked and found out that the next auction wouldn’t be held until next week. He would only be able to collect his proceeds in about ten days.
Fortunately, he wasn’t in a hurry. Even if he got the money right away, he would just have to save it and couldn’t spend it for the time being.
With his important tasks finished, he could now arrange his time freely.
Lin Mo and Ali wandered around the city for a long while, getting a proper, firsthand look at Silver Stream City.
Throughout the process, Ali was unusually quiet. She rarely spoke, merely sticking close to Lin Mo’s side. She would occasionally look with curiosity at things she hadn’t seen before but rarely opened her mouth to ask. Lin Mo, on the other hand, tried quite a few local snacks.
How should he put it? Most of them tasted pretty good... except for a certain bread with Slime Gel added to it, which he simply could not appreciate.
