After the Divorce, I Unlocked a Perfect Life
Chapter 64: Why Are All the Women Looking for Him Top-Tier?
"That’s perfect. How do you charge for your design fee?"
"It’s based on the floor area, 480 yuan per square meter."
Lin Jiang did some quick math. The apartment was 681 square meters, and at 480 yuan per square meter, the design fee would be around 300,000 yuan. A drop in the bucket.
"Are you free now? Should we go take a look at the place?"
"Yes, of course."
"Let’s head over now."
"Okay, just give me one moment."
Liang Shuhuo went upstairs, her high heels CLICK-CLACK-CLICKING on the steps.
RRRING—
Lin Jiang’s phone rang—it was a call from Li Zhiyi.
"Brother Jiang, the free gift I promised you has arrived. It just so happens I have the day off today, so I can deliver it to you."
"That’s too much trouble. There’s no rush, I can pick it up myself when I have time."
"No trouble at all. I was heading out anyway, and it might be on my way. Let me just bring it to you."
"Alright then. I’m heading to Century Triumph, so you can just bring it there."
"Okay, see you in a bit."
After he hung up, Liang Shuhuo came back downstairs.
She had put on a jacket and was carrying her bag, radiating an air of elite professionalism.
"Let’s go."
The two of them left together, leaving the receptionist staring after them in a daze.
’Didn’t she say she was going to turn him down? Why is she leaving with him now?’
Once outside, Liang Shuhuo was secretly relieved when she saw Lin Jiang’s Maybach.
’That phone call was perfectly timed. If I had said I was busy, he probably would have just walked away.’
Soon, they arrived at Century Triumph, and Lin Jiang led Liang Shuhuo to unit C2401.
Liang Shuhuo was deeply impressed when she saw the apartment’s floor plan.
’Compared to the man in front of her, her previous clients were merely well-off.’
"Mr. Lin, if you don’t mind my asking, what’s your approximate budget?"
"Let’s say 25 million. Spend up to that amount, just don’t go over."
’I only have a few hundred thousand in liquid funds. For a project of this level, if the budget goes even a little bit over, that amount of money wouldn’t even make a dent.’
"Twenty-five million..."
Liang Shuhuo was utterly dumbfounded.
’With a budget that big, you could renovate a bare concrete shell to the most luxurious standards and still have money left over, let alone a pre-finished place like this.’
"Do you have any special requirements for the renovation? Like a maid’s room or a nursery?"
"I’m single, so I don’t think I’ll need a nursery, right? Although, it might be good to plan for one. I don’t need it now, but I’m sure I will eventually."
’He’s actually single!’
’Then again, it’s normal for a man like him to be single.’
’If he wanted to, he could have a different woman warming his bed every night. Who would bother getting a girlfriend?’
’From that perspective, driving *just* a Maybach is actually quite understated for him.’
"Alright, I’ll take a look around the apartment first."
Liang Shuhuo put down her bag and began to wander through the apartment, with Lin Jiang following her.
Today’s main task was to discuss and understand his design preferences. Liang Shuhuo had always believed that only by thoroughly understanding a client’s needs could she create a home they would be satisfied with.
As they talked, Lin Jiang listed his requirements, and Liang Shuhuo jotted them all down in her notebook.
"Mr. Lin."
Hearing the voice, Lin Jiang turned around and saw Zhao Fangfei standing at the door.
She wore a knee-length floral dress, her hair cascading naturally down her back. Her entire vibe was completely different from her usual sales-mode persona.
The outfit had a clever detail, though: a V-neckline.
’Very impressive!’
"Are you allowed to wear your own clothes to work?" Lin Jiang asked casually.
Zhao Fangfei smiled and tucked a stray strand of hair, saying with another smile, "No, I have the day off. It’s the weekend, so I have to dress up a little, you know?"
"Thanks for coming all this way on a weekend."
"It’s no trouble at all, it’s my pleasure," Zhao Fangfei said softly.
"When you bought the apartment, I had wanted to invite you to a meal to show my appreciation, but President Qin needed to see you, so I didn’t get the chance to ask. Are you free today?"
"I’m afraid today won’t work. I have an appointment with my designer to go over plans for the apartment. Perhaps another time."
"That’s fine. I’m always available, whether it’s about the apartment or... personal matters. You can call me anytime."
"Alright."
After delivering the property deed, Zhao Fangfei left.
There was no trace of disappointment on her face.
’She knew very well that rich men don’t just like gentle women; they like obedient women, too!’
’You do whatever the man says, no questions asked.’
’Otherwise, why would a man like that want you?’
’Because you’re a drama queen?’
"Let’s get back to the apartment," Lin Jiang said, returning to Liang Shuhuo’s side.
"Yes, of course."
Liang Shuhuo nodded. "My thinking is..."
"Brother Jiang."
Before she could finish her sentence, another voice came from the doorway.
’I thought the saleswoman had come back, but it was a different young woman.’
’And she was just as attractive as the first one, with an incredible figure. Even as a woman, I have to admit she’s absolutely stunning.’
’This guy is way too popular.’
"Sorry, just a moment."
"No problem."
Lin Jiang walked towards Li Zhiyi.
She was dressed differently today. Instead of her usual cool, sophisticated look, she was dressed in a very sporty style.
Gray sweatpants, a white t-shirt, and a pair of white sneakers. She was radiating youthful energy.
"This is the first time I’ve seen you dress like this," Lin Jiang said with a smile.
"I have a trial dance class later, so I thought I’d check it out and drop this off for you on the way."
"Well, once you’ve gotten good, I’ll have to come see the results of your training."
"Oh, it’s just a trial class. I haven’t actually signed up. I’m too busy with work to have time for lessons, I’m just going to check it out for fun," Li Zhiyi said with a sweet smile, adding in a whisper:
"But I have been dancing since I was little, so I have some basics down. I can show you my ’results’ anytime."
"It’s a date."
"Mhm." Li Zhiyi nodded, then looked at the contents of the bag and said:
"Brother Jiang, there’s a massage pillow and a model car in here. They’re both really good quality."
"Thanks for making a special trip just for this."
"It was no trouble," Li Zhiyi said with a smile. "You look busy, so I won’t keep you. Bye, Brother Jiang!"
"Bye."
After Li Zhiyi left, Lin Jiang went back to discussing the apartment with Liang Shuhuo.
"So, what’s the fastest this renovation can be done?"
"Since there are no major structural changes, it’ll be much quicker. A month at most."
Liang Shuhuo surveyed the apartment’s interior as she explained her thoughts:
"Some of the imported furniture needs to be custom-ordered, which will take a while, but we’ll expedite it as much as possible."
"That timeline is acceptable."
"Since you live alone, if you aren’t too particular, you could technically move in within a few days. The apartment is already finished, after all. All you’d really need is a bed."
Lin Jiang chuckled. "You’ve got a point."
They discussed the apartment for about an hour before finally wrapping things up.
Lin Jiang drove Liang Shuhuo back to her office. They exchanged numbers and WeChat contacts, and he also gave her a key to the apartment.
’From now on, I won’t have to worry about the details. I can just coordinate with her over the phone.’
At her company’s entrance, she watched Lin Jiang’s retreating figure.
’In the short time it took to look at the apartment, two absolutely stunning women came looking for him. The gap between different kinds of men was suddenly so clear.’
’So handsome and so rich... Did he bribe King Yama before he was born?’
...
He drove back to his noodle shop and looked at the gifts Li Zhiyi had brought him.
The quality of the massage pillow and the model car was, indeed, excellent.
The model car, in particular, would make a nice display piece.
Then, his eyes were drawn to the shopping bag itself.
18D Dance Studio?
’What a weird name. I wonder if it’s related to 36D.’
’Li Zhiyi had just said she was too busy with work to sign up for dance classes.’
’But working at a 4S dealership didn’t seem *that* busy. Overtime was rare, though they only got one day off a week.’
’For a regular wage earner, those were pretty decent conditions.’
’The most likely reason was that the price was too high, making her hesitate.’
’If that’s the case, then this is easy.’
’Their current Affinity was at 30 points. This could be a good way to raise it.’
He opened up TikTok and searched for 36... I mean, 18D. He quickly found their official account.
The founder had a long list of credentials: awards from international competitions and various titles within the dance world.
’Lin Jiang didn’t understand any of it, but it seemed pretty damn impressive.’
He then clicked on the "shop" on their profile page, which listed the prices for their classes.
The cheapest was 38,888, the most expensive was 98,888.
’A price like that was definitely not cheap for someone in Li Zhiyi’s income bracket.’
’She had their bag, so this must be the place she’s going to, right?’
’Whatever. They’re all dance studios anyway.’
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK—
Just as Lin Jiang was mulling this over, he heard a knock on his car window.
It was Xu Lin.
"Thinking about the meaning of life in here all by yourself, Boss Lin?" Xu Lin teased with a smile.
"Just thinking about some new positions and techniques."
She rolled her eyes at Lin Jiang. "In broad daylight, have you no shame?"
"Just doing my part to support the national two-child policy, you know."
