All My Summons Become Divine Girls
Chapter 101: Conditions
Hajin stared at her reaction, completely confused by the tears welling up in her eyes and the way her hands were shaking over her mouth. It was just a name.
He had given Juna one without any ceremony, and Loccy barely reacted at all when he named her. Why was she looking at him like he had just offered her the world?
Before he could ask, the system panel flickered in front of him, responding to his confusion before he had to voice it.
[ Spirit Naming Protocol ]
[ For a contracted ring spirit, a True Name is not merely a designation. ]
[ It is an intimate act that signifies a deep, everlasting bond between bearer and spirit. ]
[ The name becomes the foundation of their shared identity, anchoring the spirit permanently to the bloodline and erasing the isolation of the prison seal. ]
He read the lines twice, his brow pulling together as the weight of what that actually meant settled in. ’It’s that serious? Just giving her a name is supposed to mean all that?’
He didn’t even know how to respond to that. He had just been trying to help her out of a bad spot, not make some grand declaration, but looking at her standing there with tears in her eyes and her hands pressed to her mouth, he realized that maybe she didn’t see it the same way.
’Fuck it,’ he thought, letting out a quiet breath. ’Let’s just get it over with.’
He walked toward her until they were barely inches apart, close enough that he could see the faint shimmer of moisture in her eyes and the way her hair caught the sunlight.
"Yes," he said, answering the question she had asked him a moment ago. "I’m willing to do that for you."
He reached up slowly, brushing a loose strand of hair that had fallen across her face and tucking it gently behind her ear. Her breath hitched at the contact, her eyes widening slightly as she stared up at him.
"Do you accept?" he asked, keeping his voice steady despite how close they were.
She nodded quickly, a teary smile breaking across her face as she lowered her hands from her mouth.
The system panel appeared between them, its text glowing softly.
[ Assign True Name to contracted spirit. ]
[ Enter name: ]
He looked at her, really looked at her, taking in the cyan hair, the bright yellow eyes, and the way she was standing there waiting for him with complete trust. The name came to him naturally, simple and clean, fitting her better than anything else he could think of.
"Vella," he said. "Your name is Vella."
The panel flashed gold the moment the word left his mouth.
[ Designation accepted ]
[ True Name established: Vella ]
[ Spirit identity stabilized ]
[ Proceeding to contract seal... ]
He didn’t waste any time. He leaned in slowly, his eyes locked on hers the entire time, and she just stared at him without pulling back, her breath catching as the distance between them closed.
Their lips connected softly, and she closed her eyes almost immediately, her hands still resting lightly on his chest while the system worked in the background.
A steady pulse of mana resonated between them, lines of text scrolling past his vision while he kept his eyes open for a second longer before shutting them too.
Vella’s arms slowly wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer as she deepened the kiss on her end, her mouth parting while her tongue slid against his and made the whole thing way more intimate than he expected. He just stood there, letting it happen while his brain completely short-circuited.
The system chimed softly, a final notification appearing in the corner of his vision.
[ Contract seal complete ]
[ Prison seal broken ]
[ Ring Spirit: Vella — Full integration achieved ]
He slowly pulled away, his hands still resting on her shoulders as he created a little space between them. Vella’s eyes opened, her irises hazy and unfocused for a moment before they sharpened and locked onto his face.
They just stood there staring at each other, both of their faces burning bright red, the silence between them heavy with something neither of them knew how to address.
Vella was the first to break it, her hands slowly dropping from his neck as she looked away with a deeply embarrassed expression.
"That was my first kiss," she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper while a fresh wave of crimson spread across her cheeks. "I might have gone a little overboard. I’m sorry."
He rubbed the back of his neck, feeling his own face heat up all over again. "It’s fine," he said quickly. "I liked it."
The words left his mouth before he could think about them, and he immediately froze, his brain catching up a second too late.
’What the fuck am I saying out loud?’ he thought, his pulse spiking as he stared at the grass. ’I really just said that out loud. Thank god the stream can’t broadcast in here, because the chat would never let me hear the end of it.’
Vella’s eyes widened slightly at his answer, her embarrassment shifting into something softer as she looked back up at him.
"Would you..." she started, her voice trembling just a little. "Would you want to try it one more time?"
He didn’t know why, but the answer came out naturally without any hesitation. "Yeah."
He reached out slowly, his hand coming up to gently cup her cheek while his thumb brushed lightly against her skin. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
She leaned into his touch without resisting, her eyes locking onto his as the distance between them closed again.
Their lips met softly this time, and he pulled her closer by the waist while she kept her arms locked around his neck, the kiss deepening naturally as the flower field around them stayed completely quiet.
A few minutes passed before they finally broke apart, both of them breathing a little heavier than before. He let out a quiet breath and sat down on the grass, Vella immediately following him as she leaned against his shoulder, resting her head against his arm while her hair spilled over his coat.
"Thank you," she said softly, her voice carrying a quiet sincerity that made him glance down at her. "For the name, the contract and everything. It means a lot to me."
He rubbed the back of his neck, feeling a little awkward about the sincerity but not pushing her away. "It was no big deal," he muttered. "You were stuck in here for too long anyway."
She smiled against his shoulder, her eyes closing as she relaxed into his side. "I suppose so."
He looked out over the endless field of flowers, the gentle breeze carrying petals past them while he processed the changes. "So, does this mean you can see the outside world now? And we can talk whenever I want?"
She let out a quiet hum, her lips curving into a small, knowing smile. "I can do more than that, actually."
He frowned, looking down at her. "More than what? What do you mean?"
"It’s a surprise," she said, her tone playful as she refused to elaborate. "You’ll just have to wait and see."
He opened his mouth to press her for details, but she simply raised her hand and snapped her fingers.
"Time for you to wake up," she said.
The flower field, the sky, and the warm sunlight all dissolved into blinding white light as the world around them shattered.
