Captain Xavier, Your Wife Has Signed the Divorce Papers
Chapter 12: You’ve Misunderstood
Wren Wynter had wanted to get out at the intersection, but who knew what had gotten into Kaden Xavier today? He didn’t stop and instead drove directly to the company entrance.
So, when they saw the two of them walk in side by side, many people were stunned.
The two, who normally never interacted outside of pre-boarding checks, had actually arrived at work together. And one of them was the notoriously unapproachable Captain Xavier.
But isn’t everyone saying Captain Xavier and Flight Attendant Sutton are dating? What’s going on with him and Dr. Wynter?
As soon as Joy Lynch heard the news, she rushed over from the flight medicine office. She shot Kaden Xavier a displeased glance, then linked arms with Wren Wynter, pulling her aside to whisper, "Wren, why did you two arrive together?"
"An accident. Someone’s insanity decided to flare up," Wren Wynter said, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
"I see!" Joy Lynch glanced at Kaden Xavier’s scowling face, a smile playing on her lips. She felt an indescribable sense of glee. To make Wren curse someone out without using a single dirty word... that means she’s really angry.
"Yeah."
The two of them chatted as they walked to the flight medicine office.
Kaden Xavier, completely ignoring the onlookers’ stares, headed in the opposite direction.
Back in the flight medicine office, Wren Wynter sat down and changed into her white lab coat. She glanced down at her outfit for the day, her face turning pale with rage.
Kaden Xavier, that bastard! He ruined her outfit!
"Wren, you don’t look well. Are you sick?"
Joy Lynch, who had just entered, grew concerned when she saw Wren Wynter’s pallid complexion. This must be Kaden Xavier’s fault!
"I’m fine. I probably just forgot to eat breakfast this morning. My blood sugar might be a little low."
This isn’t about skipping breakfast. She’s obviously just furious with Kaden Xavier. Wren often skips breakfast, and I’ve never seen her get dizzy from it.
Just then, the director walked in.
The director was a woman in her fifties, kind-faced and always good to the flight doctors and nurses under her.
"Director, what brings you here?"
"Dr. Wynter, in a bit, I need you and Dr. Lynch to go conduct an emergency rescue drill for the new trainee pilots."
"Director, Wren, she..."
Joy Lynch started to refuse on Wren’s behalf, but Wren pulled her back. Wren shook her head at Joy. "Of course, Director. We’ll head over shortly."
Once the director had left, Joy Lynch frowned. As she gathered the necessary equipment, she voiced her disapproval. "Wren, why didn’t you tell the director you weren’t feeling well? Why did you have to take on this task? You’re not the only flight doctor here."
"I caused the director so much trouble yesterday, and she didn’t hold me responsible. I have no reason to refuse her over a small thing, not to mention this is my job."
"But you..."
Wren Wynter grabbed a clipboard and headed for the door. "Alright, let’s go."

"Kaden, a new batch of trainees arrived today. The higher-ups said they want you to personally train them." Felix Vance followed beside Kaden Xavier, holding the list of trainees in his hand.
"I’m not doing it. I don’t have time."
"Alright then, I’ll find someone else. But we do have to bother Dr. Wynter and Dr. Lynch from the flight medicine office to run an emergency rescue drill for the trainees today. I hear this Dr. Wynter is a real beauty, though I don’t know if that’s true. It’s weird, actually. Every time I have a flight scheduled, she’s on vacation. I’ve never managed to meet this famous beauty."
Felix Vance was so busy talking as he walked that he didn’t notice Kaden Xavier had stopped. He walked right into him.
"Ouch! Kaden, what gives?"
"You said there’s a drill today?"
"Yeah. But don’t worry, with me around, these trainees won’t dare to mess around." Felix Vance patted his chest in assurance. Kaden Xavier grabbed his shoulder and yanked him back.
"I’ll cover for you today."
"Huh?" He just said he didn’t have time. How is he suddenly available?
"Kaden, are you really going to cover for me today? Hey, don’t walk off yet!"
The two of them arrived at the area where the trainees reported. Two neat rows of trainees in pilot uniforms stood in the open space.
"I’m your instructor pilot, Felix Vance. And this is your temporary instructor pilot, Kaden Xavier. He will be in charge of your training today!"
Kaden Xavier’s gaze swept the surroundings, his attention clearly not on the trainees at all.
"Kaden, what are you spacing out for?"
"Oh, nothing. When are the flight doctors getting here for the drill?"
Felix Vance looked around as he replied, "I don’t know. I just heard the director of flight medicine say they were already on their way. Hey, Kaden, isn’t that Seraphina?"
As he spoke, a few flight attendants walked past their group. Everyone except Kaden Xavier stared intently at the passing flight attendants.
Seraphina Sutton had just finished her flight duty for the day. She walked by, pulling her personal roller bag, chatting and laughing with her colleagues.
"As expected of Cathay’s flagship airline, even the flight attendants are so beautiful!"
"Yeah, I say we should hold some kind of beauty pageant to pick the most beautiful flight attendant!"
"Good idea! I vote for the one walking at the front!"
"Me too!"
A few trainees in the ranks were giggling and chattering, and their comments reached the ears of Felix Vance and Kaden Xavier.
Kaden Xavier frowned but didn’t think much of it. Until the surroundings suddenly fell silent, and a gentle, sweet voice came from behind him.
"Kaden."
Seraphina Sutton stood behind Kaden Xavier, pulling her suitcase. Her innocent and beautiful face immediately attracted the attention of all the trainees.
"Mhm. Your shift is over, so you should go home and rest."
"I’m not tired. Are you training the new trainees?"
"Mhm."
Kaden Xavier’s reaction was lukewarm, and his gaze still wasn’t on Seraphina Sutton’s face.
Seraphina Sutton was a bit embarrassed, and the smile on her face stiffened.
Felix Vance, who was standing to the side, quickly tried to smooth things over. "Seraphina, long time no see! I have something to do in a bit, so I had to borrow your Kaden for the day."
Felix Vance deliberately wiggled his eyebrows at Kaden Xavier, a teasing expression on his face.
Seraphina Sutton smiled shyly. She didn’t deny their relationship and even walked up to Kaden Xavier, reaching out as if to fix his collar. "Kaden, don’t work too hard. I’ll worry about you."
Kaden Xavier frowned and subconsciously took a step back. Sensing the misunderstanding everyone seemed to have, he spoke up to explain. "It’s not what you think."
Seraphina Sutton’s expression immediately turned sour. Her raised hand froze in mid-air, and a flicker of resentment, barely perceptible, crossed her eyes before she sullenly withdrew her hand.
"That’s right, we’re not... Ah!"
Seraphina Sutton started walking toward Kaden Xavier, but she suddenly tripped and fell right into him.
Kaden Xavier instinctively caught Seraphina Sutton.
Seraphina Sutton was now leaning against Kaden Xavier’s chest, a scene that looked incredibly intimate from every angle.
"What are you doing?"
Just then, a familiar voice came from behind them.
