CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 2294 - 2303: You Don’t Have to Go
Jane Sampson stood there waiting for a long time, until James Black finished hanging up the clothes, she finally heard him speak.
"You don’t need to go."
After saying that, James Black returned to the bedroom, glanced back at her, "I’ll bring breakfast when I come back."
Saying this, he left alone.
Although his attitude wasn’t too warm, he still took care of her, and he would even wash her clothes.
But Jane Sampson knew, James Black was really angry.
Jane Sampson sat on the balcony blowing in the wind, now truly fully awake.
She really didn’t expect pretending to be sick would make James Black so, so angry.
After a long time, until there were sounds outside again, Jane Sampson finally came in from the balcony.
She went to the living room, James Black had already set the breakfast on the table.
"I’ll get the tableware!" Jane Sampson volunteered to get two sets of tableware from the kitchen, but after sitting down, she realized that James Black had only brought back one breakfast.
He had eaten outside.
From the time he put down the breakfast to when she sat down, James Black hadn’t spoken a word to her, yet he helped pour the buns and peanut soup into a bowl, after doing these things, he quietly walked away.
Jane Sampson’s heart mysteriously tightened.
A bit sour.
And a bit bitter.
She didn’t want James Black to ignore her. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
But James Black had already gone into the study, without even looking at her.
Before, Jane Sampson’s favorite peanut soup, her favorite bean paste bun, today as they went into her mouth, felt not sweet at all, felt like putting them into her mouth made them taste bitter.
This was the first time Jane Sampson, at this age, understood what it felt like to have no appetite without being sick.
Tasteless.
The breakfast James Black brought back, she ate for a long time, and barely finished half of it.
After tidying up the dinner table, Jane Sampson pretended to pass by the study, and glanced at James Black in the study.
He wasn’t reading.
He was practicing calligraphy in the study.
White paper, black ink, contrasting with James Black’s increasingly cold demeanor.
Jane Sampson stood there watched for a few seconds, but didn’t dare to step forward.
Ever since he joined the troops, James Black usually didn’t have much time to pick up a pen and practice calligraphy.
Only when he’s in a great mood.
Or when he’s in a very bad mood, would he grab a brush in the study and write alone.
James Black mentioned that writing can help him calm down slowly.
Jane Sampson sat on the sofa in the living room, her little hands fiddling and twisting with the sofa cushion.
Whether to glance toward the study room doorway, checking if James Black came out yet.
Her heart anxious.
When she was a child, even after doing something wrong, she never felt this anxious.
A heart, all over the place.
She was waiting, waiting for James Black to come out and scold her harshly.
After he finished scolding, she would admit her mistake, this matter could be over then.
Otherwise, she could act coy and soothe him a little? This matter could definitely be over then!
But Jane Sampson waited and waited, until 11 o’clock, James Black didn’t seem like he was coming out of the study.
Jane Sampson bit her lip, taking tiny steps toward the study doorway.
One peek.
James Black was still there with his head down writing.
There were piles of papers of his writing next to him.
"James Black." Jane Sampson tentatively called out to him, saying, "I’m going to cook now~"
The person in the study didn’t raise his head and merely hummed in response.
Jane Sampson stood there without moving, her little hand twisting the buttons on her clothes, asking softly, "Do you want to help me wash the vegetables?"
James Black finally stopped the pen in his hand and placed it onto the pen holder.
