Those clouds held the heavens in their grip, from horizon to horizon, except for one space: a bright, silver hole, right above, maybe a hundred meters across, lingering with silver light for but a moment longer. As the light dissipated, twilight purple sky showed through the hole in the clouds, before the clouds rushed in to fill the gap.
A white comet, that was not a comet at all, but quickly resolved into a person, fell toward the city below.
