Actually, not just my world, my entire damn universe was overrun by another, led by a single race that called themselves the Eternals.And they were prepared. Very prepared. Every life we lost in the war against them was used by them. They didn’t just kill people, they captured their souls, forged them into Phantoms, and used the souls to twist beasts into Abominations. Break apart like a pair of mandarin ducks that fly away from each other!” With such a persisting obsession, it would be difficult for the vengeful departed spirit to move on.

Azrail finds himself lost on what to believe since he has lived through what seems like hell yet has saw others simply enjoying the life they are given. Even after going through wars, being abandoned, and losing some of the ones he loved he can't find himself to hate the world.

The only thing he finds himself hating is himself and others who have put him in unforgiving situations.
