I was in charge of a group, didnt matter what kind of group. My role was ratified by the misplaced faith of others, nothing to do with me. Made it so I didnt even have to prove myself. I could be a bad leader, you still needed to accept me as the major-domo (might be using that term incorrectly but it sounds right which is the important thing). You had to respect the office, not the incompetent person sitting in the big chair.
