MTL - Card Room - ~ Chapter 002:

15 years ago the world discovered magic as well as mythical beings (basically beings from various legends) in another dimension. Humankind learned to summon these dangerous mythical beings and use their power to great effect. Seven countries formed contracts with these “mythical beings” and gained their allegiance as a result. The mythical beings will choose their summoners on their 14th birthday and give them a stigma. Schools have been set up to train summoners and magical swordsman (basically bodyguards that give the summoners time to cast their spell) as a result.

15 years later after the finding of magic Kazuki Hayashizaki is chosen as a summoner and given a stigma to indicate that. This is surprising since males aren’t chosen as summoners due to their low amount of mana compared to females. As the first male to be a summoner Kazuki is under a lot of scrutiny by almost everyone.

To complicate matters his sister (who’s a magical swordsman) is against him going into summoner school to train there as a summoner. Because summoners and magical swordsman have a cat mouse thing going on where summoners look down on magical swordsman as inferior so his sister naturally is against him going there. She’ll stop him even if it means going to war.

Kazuki however is determined to thrive in summoner school and has already determined to give it his all. Even if he’s the lowest ranked student (ranked E) and his fellow students intend to demean him he’ll prove himself as the strongest summoner.

Humanity was living peacefully on Earth for millions and millions of years until the day unknown monsters from beyond space invaded them.

When humans were about to disappear, some people with abilities came out to the light and shared their knowledge and powers with the world, and together, they managed to push back the invaders during a terrible war that had lasted for years.

This war had created many orphans, and among them, Kye had lost everything, even his parents. And the only thing he received from their death was a pale-looking necklace.

However, once the necklace finally activated, a system was given to him, and his life changed completely.

The system gave him quests to do, and Kye complied. He was getting stronger every time he achieved them, until the day it gave him a weird quest.

Mr. Fu of Harbor City positions himself with one foot in Harbor City and the other in Macau City, capable of manipulating situations with just his hands.Harbor City's gossip tabloids exposed that Mr. Fu has a secret wife.Known for his romantic involvements, Mr. Fu has liaisons with beauty pageant winners, models, and socialites.The entire Harbor City jokes about how his wife would be kicked out of the Fu family by any means necessary.In the first year, an unprecedented snowfall in June took over Harbor City, dubbed by the press as a grand gesture from the boss to make his wife smile.The second year, the press captured Mr. Fu arguing with his wife in the streets looking upset. People speculated their relationship was nearing its end. However, the next day, he was seen clinging to his wife's legs, crying, fussing, and showing affection.The third year, rumors were rampant that Mr. Fu and his wife had been living separately for six months, and a divorce was imminent.Soon after, a major announcement from the Fu family shocked the city.Mr. Fu was delighted by the birth of a precious son.While everyone congratulated him, Mr. Fu's expression was gloomy: not having embraced one for three years, he realized he was duped!

It was an enormous tsunami that completely covered the sky, and due to its dark water, the sun had been blocked out. A sense of despair ran through everybody as they looked towards the peaked wave quickly crashing down. But was I the only one who noticed the massive sea monster lurking towards the front of the wave?
