From what Eisen could tell, it had a base that was supposed to stay directly in the center, and a rotatable top that had a rope connected to it. At the loose end of the rope there was a metal ring, which apparently was supposed to be put around the staff. Like that, it was possible to relatively easily make perfect circles.
