You'll see a few similarities here between this story and some existing stories, at least initially. There's a lot of inspiration drawn from both MoL and Re:Zero, though in terms of pathos and darkness, this story leans more towards the latter. Be warned, it is something of a slow burn. The main character will grow and become powerful, but a theme of this story is that power comes slowly and often at great cost.

The protagonist, Winnie (文尼), confesses his love to his childhood friend—the princess he’s been secretly in love with for years—but is brutally rejected in public. His heart shatters, he’s humiliated and ridiculed, and he collapses unconscious. When he wakes up, he vaguely remembers his past life’s memories and realizes he has transmigrated into the world of an otome game he played before. At first, he’s thrilled, thinking, “Nice! The trial can be found in a broken world. The broken world is a huge landmass that looks like an independent world within a portal. The smallest size of the landmass is a town, and the biggest is as big as a country. Magic plants, minerals, and magic stones can be found inside. It contains opportunity but also danger brought by magic beasts, carnivorous plants, and the landmass itself. The landmass could be a world of lava, poison, floating islands, and other dangerous worlds.

Challengers that passed the trial wield great power and influence in their own country and the whole Earth. Their power is so great that some can become kings on their own islands. Mortal laws are forcefully bent by their own power. They monopolize knowledge and let the weak stay weak. How will Edgar face the powerful force that will see him as a threat? And how will he face a danger that comes outside of the world?
