... I had to leave the expired foods, like the breads, packaged meats, and everything else that was supposed to be kept in a cool dry place. There hadn't been any power for about six months and there was no way I was going to trust anything perishable after so long.
Some of the dry goods were borderline and I marked those, because their expiry dates were either just passed or were about to. Those I made sure to keep out to put in the back of the truck and I would drop most of it off at Hersh ...
