Cosmic Patron System: 100X Return on Every Reward
Chapter 66 - 0 | Who the hell is this StarWalker?
Mumbai was busy as usual with people going home or coming to work and hunters returning from their dungeon run as evening transitioned into night.
Arpita was silently sitting in a hospital room, looking after Vanya while Luna sat on the bed near her.
"Should I give you some disturbing news? Luna asked.
"What happened now? He has yet to reach Jai’s office, I think," Arpita questioned back.
"Well, I was trying to look into her fate but guess what, just like her brother, her own fate is also sealed behind some veil. Only thing I feel when I look at her is pure dread," Luna explained.
"So, there is something special about sister too and she has yet to awaken. Then we will probably have two monsters in the same family," Arpita stated, she was still anxious about Reyansh’s action.
"Yeah, by the way have you decided how much you are going to support StarWalker?"
"Well, unless his action harm my country, I will be supporting him all the way," Arpita replied.
"Can it be the case that..." Arpita stopped midway as notification popped up in front of him.
"He reached a bit early," she spoke as she opened the notification.
[StarWalker has started a stream titled, How to take down a Guildmaster? Hands-free!]
[Would you like to watch?]
"So you decided to go nuclear, huh?" Arpita stated while Luna jumped on her shoulder to watch.
"Let’s see how much of our instinct was correct and did his strength really increase?" Luna spoke.
They watched him entering the elevator unnoticed and addressing the stream with casual tone as usual.
"Hmm...if I hadn’t seen his anger, I would have really believed that he is sincere," Arpita scoffed, her lips turning to smirk.
Both kept their eyes peeled as Reyansh stormed the office, pinning Jai like a doll in moments and taking control of the room.
Arpita was sure in her heart that Reyansh was going to kill Jai and those two along with him. She was more interested in the way he would choose. Would he just execute them by stating their crimes or did he had some other game at play?
As Reyansh went on to narrate a bit when suddenly after being interrupted twice, he looked calmly at John and beheaded him the next moment.
Arpita flinched at the cold efficiency and brutality he had shown. She too had just killed a man, more brutally so, but he was doing this on stream and his body language was completely calm.
"Damn it," Arpita cursed as she watched but her focus seemed elsewhere.
After a moment thought, she took out her phone and dialled a number.
’I really hope he is worth it,’ she thought.
The call rang for a few seconds until someone picked up.
"Hunter’s Council Mumbai office, how may I help you?" a female answered the call.
"Put the Executive Hunter on phone," Arpita ordered.
"Can I know your name and reason you are calling. I am sure I can.." before she could continue Arpita interrupted.
"I don’t have time for your word game, tell Aryan, this is an emergency matter,"
The other side became silent for a second, Arpita would have given her name but she wasn’t calling as Arpita.
"Please hold for a few moments," reply came from other side after few seconds.
"You do know if you do this, you would have to report to the command," Luna reminded while call was on hold.
"Yeah, that’s why I said, I will support him anyway I can until his actions are harmful to my nation." Arpita replied.
"Hello, Executive Hunter from Mumbai office, who is this and what’s the emergency matter?" An authoritative voice of a middle-aged man came as call resumed.
"NA004-AM036" Arpita shared a code that only few people in top positions knew.
"Ohh...How can I help you, Ma’am?" Aryan’s tone changed from authoritative to someone who is ready to take orders.
"For an hour from now, no personnel from Hunter’s Council should go to Victory guild headquarter and mention the same to local police." Arpita ordered.
"Okay...can I know the reason, Ma’am," Aryan hesitantly asked.
"You’ll catch up soon enough," Arpita replied before ending the call.
"Well, I have given you an hour, I hope that’s enough for you," Arpita stated as she put the phone down and watched Reyansh pull a muscle fibre from Jai.
"Today’s the day you lose, Jai."
Meanwhile, at Hunter’s Council main office, Aryan stood, half stunned at the sudden order and half pissed that he would have to follow a order without knowing why.
He had received the code that Arpita mentioned a few days ago along with a note that said to comply with whatever order that followed this code.
He had tried to find out the reason and person behind this, only to be schooled by his superior to not put his nose where it doesn’t belong.
"Just who the hell is behind this that I have to follow a nobody’s order even after being head of Hunter’s Council in Mumbai?" he murmured.
He took a deep breath before exhaling, "Maya," he called out to his secretary.
Maya answered the call with her presence in seconds, "Yes, sir."
"Type a black out notice to all personnel of Hunter’s Council to not go anywhere near Victory Guild Headquarter and send the same notice to Mumbai police," he ordered.
"Yes, sir, I am on it right away," Maya answered.
"Within next five minutes everyone should receive this message then find out if we have any news from that area around the building and Victory guild." He added.
Maya nodded and left to complete the order.
Aryan sat back into his chair, thinking about the organization that had such deep backing.
A few minutes passed as he focused back in his work, approving IDs, looking at cases when suddenly Maya barged in.
Aryan looked at her angrily and was about to scold her but he saw a horrified look on Maya’s face.
Before he could ask anything, Maya spoke in a hurried voice while putting a file in front of him, "Sir, you should look at the stream channel StarWalker, it’s horrible."
Aryan looking at her face searched the StarWalker channel and opened the live stream.
The moment he opened the stream, he saw a thumb flying, cut by something invisible. A man stuck on the wall with Katana in his chest, a head less body pinned beside him and a horrified young boy pinned in the same manner.
"What the hell is this? And who the hell is this StarWalker?" Aryan spoke out loud as he stood from his chair, frightened by the scene in front of him.
He looked at Maya for answers, she shook her head negatively.
"This is the first time I am hearing the name sir, I will go look," Maya responded.
"Hurry up." He pressed.
He looked at the viewer count on the video.
[Viewers: 984]
[Viewers: 1024]
The numbers jumped in front of his eyes.
’Goddammit, he is openly torturing and murdering in my city under my watch.’ His blood boiled.
He immediately thought of rushing at the scene to punish him but his enthusiasm watered down as he remembered the order he just received on phone.
"Why an organization in shadows is supporting this?" he wondered aloud, his mind raced to save himself.
"How the hell am I supposed to explain this? That I got a call and didn’t take any action." He lamented his own situation.
He checked the channel to see if he could find any more information but he didn’t get anything useful beside the Mana core rank C, his brows raised.
He grabbed the file in front of him and checked.
Victory Guild
Owner – Jai Rajput a.k.a Flame_Spear_4537
Hunter Status – True Indigo Class
He looked at the video again, the young man in mask with C-rank Mana core playfully asking questions and torturing a S-rank hunter.
The hairs on his body raised in Goosebumps, his eyes widened at the monster wearing the Mask, ’Who the hell is this StarWalker?’ he thought with much dread this time.
