Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 151: Domain Update: Wonders of the World! The last final period of the domain
Ding!
[You have obtained a Domain Update: Wonders of the World.]
[Wonders of the World can now be obtained from Void Trials.]
A massive stream of information regarding these ’Wonders’ flowed directly into his mind.
"Not bad at all," Caelus muttered.
Wonders of the World were unique architectural or magical landmarks that ranged from Common to Mythical rarity. All these Wonders possessed unique characteristics that provided massive passive buffs to a territory. These would definitely come in handy for building his future kingdom.
With that out of the way, his attention landed on his newly purchased Profession Card.
It was time to learn the Artificer profession. This was the class strictly used to create magical items and accessories within the Domain.
To forge a magical item, an Artificer first needed a physical prototype. For example, if he wanted to craft a magical lamp, he needed a normal, physical lamp to act as the base vessel.
There was also a hidden mechanic regarding Artifact forging. It paired perfectly with the Appraiser profession. An Appraiser could pinpoint the exact era and place of origin of a prototype item. If he found an antique lamp originating from one of the Ancient God Domains and used it as a prototype, the finished artifact would naturally retain that specific faction’s powerful characteristics.
The physical forging process worked quite similarly to his Engineer profession. He needed a special inscription pen to trace down complex magical lines. But for Artificers, there was an added, grueling step: Refining.
Refining was done by actively using one’s Combat Aura or Mind Power. Every physical prototype naturally contained microscopic impurities. To cleanse the vessel and allow it to hold magic, the Artificer had to aggressively break down those impurities by carving perfect energy pathways through the material. It was definitely easier said than done.
He crushed the golden card in his hand.

[You have consumed a Profession Card.]
[You have obtained the Profession: Artificer.]
[You have obtained the Profession Skill: Refining (Tier 1: Iron I).]
"Hm," Caelus crossed his arms, looking thoughtfully at the Iron rank text.
"I should probably create a new Faction Benefit. If a member acquires a new profession while sitting at the Silver rank, the profession should automatically scale up and start at Silver too."
It was definitely going to cost a massive amount of Reputation Points to authorize, but it would be completely worth it. Factions were specifically made to make his and his members’ lives infinitely easier after all.
"I need to quickly overpower the Holy Church," Caelus thought, his eyes narrowing.
Their religious presence was spread all across the Azure Origin Planet. If he wanted to effectively take control of this era, he needed to be thoroughly prepared for a holy war.
"Once I officially reach a Gold III Combat Score, I will publicly reveal myself."
This way, he would be untouchable and could amass a massive following of powerful players into his Chaos Faction.
There were several other hidden factions in this world as well. And then there was the looming threat of the Middle Expanse. Things had been far too stale for quite some time now. That silence by itself was very concerning. How come other Middle Expanse entities had not made direct, public contact with the Azure Origin Planet yet?
Or maybe they already did, and the global governments and the central powers were just suppressing the information. The online forums were already flooded with high tier players acquiring MODs and strange powers. The Middle Expanse was most definitely cooking up something massive behind the scenes.
Caelus fell into deep thought.
"What is the actual truth of this Origin Domain?"
Why were there constant system updates? Why did humanity have to fight to unlock these basic structural updates?
"With each passing update, the Domain is becoming more and more like actual reality."
Before, everything was incredibly simple. The NPCs were basic AI with no real brains, and the environments were static. But as soon as he started aggressively downloading updates, he slowly began realizing something terrifying. The Origin Domain they were currently fighting in was acting exactly like a controlled testing ground.
"Could this entire world be fake?" Caelus muttered, reaching a chilling conclusion.
It was a terrifying thought. If the World was a simulation, would that not make him and everyone around him fake as well?
He shook his head, pushing the existential dread away. He did not want to dive too deep into that rabbit hole just yet. He had a kingdom to build.
Afterward, Sylvia and Caelus spent some relaxing time together in the living room. Now that they were ridiculously rich, they ordered a massive feast of expensive takeout.
While Caelus ate his food, Sylvia happily sat beside him, eagerly licking her freshly frozen golden blood popsicle. It was definitely a strange, slightly morbid occurrence. But no one walking past them would ever think it was actually frozen blood, simply because Sylvia had magically flavored it. Her current popsicle smelled exactly like fresh mangoes.
They cuddled on the sofa, watching several action movies together until the sun went down.

[Day Five Dungeon Results are available.]
Just like yesterday, the simulation achieved a Mythical grade evaluation. This time, he received a solid 200 Reputation Points from the daily harvest.
[Reputation Points: 505 -> 705]
The primary goal right now was hitting exactly 1,000 Reputation Points. Sylvia was already sitting comfortably at 910 points after receiving her daily cut from the dungeon simulator.

As the clock struck midnight, the Origin Domain officially opened its servers.
They initiated the crossover without a moment of hesitation. They spawned back in the freezing Land of Snow. However, before they could even take a single step forward, a massive, server wide message hijacked their interfaces.
Ding!
[Server Merge Initiated.]
[The Region Domain that you control has successfully merged with adjacent territories.]
[Merged Territories: Region Domain 513, 514, 516, and 517.]
[The Global Chat feature is now unlocked.]
[Objective Update: After this grace period, you must successfully form a unified Kingdom by conquering all merged Regional Domains. Failure to form a Kingdom will result in your permanent removal from the Origin Domain.]
[Once a Kingdom is officially established, your collective territory will be pushed into the Higher Network, connecting you with players from the Azure Origin Planet and other planetary bodies.]
"It is finally here," Caelus said, his expression turning deadly serious.
This was the final phase before they were violently pushed into the real danger zone where the true elites of the planet resided.
But what really caught his absolute attention was not the Kingdom building.
"Other planetary bodies, huh?" Caelus smiled. This meant they were finally going to encounter players from the Middle Expanse!
They did not wait around. They could explore the Land of Snow later, after they completely crushed the other regional Lords.
For now, it was time to return to their roots.
They activated teleportation and headed straight back to Town 513. That was where his legend had started, and that was exactly where his conquest would begin.
