Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 265: The Easter Egg contains an attribute! Get Stronger
He stopped right in front of the Easter Egg and turned toward Sylvia, holding out his hand.
"Let’s grab it together."
Sylvia immediately took his hand.
They placed their free hands on the Easter Egg at the same time.
[Ding! You’ve encountered an Easter Egg.]
[Would you like to unbox it?]
[Y/N]
Caelus and Sylvia received the same notification. They then selected Yes together without hesitation.
The following instant, the Easter Egg cracked open with a soft glow.
Blue lightning erupted from inside before gathering into a crystalline shard floating between them.
It looked like a thunderbolt logo.
[You’ve obtained a Blue Lightning Shard.]
[Would you like to merge with the Lightning Attribute?]
[Y/N]
Caelus briefly considered the offer.
The shard came directly from the Domain Event, and the system explicitly stated that Easter Eggs contained rewards that could increase their power.
There was no reason to hesitate. He chose Yes with Sylvia.
The next moment, the Blue Lightning Shard split into two streams of energy and entered Caelus and Sylvia.
Bzzt!
Lightning instantly erupted across their bodies. A massive sphere of blue lightning formed around them, forcing the nearby players to retreat immediately.
"What is happening?"
"They’re covered in lightning!"
"What kind of reward did they get?"
Inside Caelus and Sylvia, their bodies began adapting to the Lightning Attribute.
Old blood cells rapidly died while new blood cells containing traces of Lightning Energy replaced them.
Their muscles, nerves, and cells adapted to withstand the generation and circulation of lightning.
Their DNA was altered as the Mystic Code of Lightning became permanently engraved into their bodies.
[You have obtained the Lightning Attribute.]
[You may only equip one Attribute at a time.]
[Your attacks will now be accompanied by the power of Lightning.]
[Your DNA has been altered and now contains the Mystic Code of Lightning.]
[The Lightning Attribute will grow alongside you and change according to your will.]
[Your physical attacks, movements, and skills may generate Lightning Effects.]
[The greater the energy and effort invested into an action, the stronger the Lightning Attribute’s assistance will become.]
Bzzt!
Right after, the lightning spheres around them collapsed, and they became visible again. Small arcs of blue lightning continued jumping across their bodies and clothes.
Caelus looked at the lightning crawling across his fingers. "Lightning Attribute, huh?"
He remembered the Dark Attribute Fragment he obtained from the World Eater Dark Lord. He finally understood the purpose of Attribute Fragments. The Lightning Attribute was similar to being naturally born with the ability to generate lightning.
The Mystic Code engraved into their DNA allowed their bodies to continuously produce and control it.
However, Caelus was quick to notice its limitations. Generating lightning consumed the body’s energy, meaning excessive usage would drain Aura and Stamina.
He clenched his fist.
Bzzt!
Lightning automatically gathered around it. He threw a casual punch into the air.
Boom!
Lightning exploded outward and left a scorched mark across the ground. Caelus immediately understood that the Attribute strengthened actions according to how much power, or rather how much he overexerted himself.
Sylvia also tested hers briefly. Crimson Sovereign manifested behind her, now surrounded by black-red lightning that crackled violently.
Caelus then turned toward the surviving Red Dragon Town members.
Everyone became tense seeing him looking at them.
"Your leader is dead."
"So what are you planning to do now?"
Nobody answered; instead, they exchanged nervous glances at each other.
Caelus shook his head seeing this. "I’ll give you two choices."
"1. You can follow your leader to hell."
"Or 2. You can stop causing trouble and live normally on this server."
"If I hear that any of you are causing trouble again, I’ll personally come and kill you. This is not a joke."
Several players immediately turned around and fled hearing his words, afraid to stay here any second longer.
These were the same players who mocked Caelus when he arrived in the town center square.
They were also directly involved in abusing the villagers here and helping Jason terrorize Leaf Town.
Caelus did not move this time. Instead, it was Sylvia taking action.
"Take some rest, hubby. I’ll handle the rest~" She gave a small wink as Crimson Sovereign erupted from her body.
Black-red lightning covered the Fighting Spirit completely as it shot toward the fleeing players.
Then it raised its hands as the air around it distorted.
Bzzt! Bzzt!
Several thin bolts of lightning shot across the town. The fleeing players were pierced simultaneously through their backs.
Their bodies collapsed onto the floor before they could even scream.
The remaining players immediately became terrified at the sight.
It wasn’t just the guy; the girl was a monster too!
The remaining Red Dragon Town players immediately agreed to Caelus’s conditions.
One player stepped forward and explained their situation.
Now that Jason was dead, they had no reason to continue obeying him.
"We were controlled through fear, Boss."
"Now that he’s gone, we don’t have to follow him anymore."
"We will just mind our business and not fall into something like this again."
"Good." Caelus nodded. "Now go away. Shoo."
"We appreciate it, Big Boss Caelus!"
Everyone already knew Caelus’s name because several players inspected him during the battle.
They told Caelus that if he ever needed their help, he could call them.
Caelus simply nodded and accepted their gesture.
The players gradually dispersed after that.
Once the crowd disappeared, Caelus turned toward Mason.
Mason was still sitting on the ground with his head lowered.
Caelus immediately walked over to him. "The guy who was tormenting you is dead. You should cheer up now, Mason."
Mason did not smile at his words. "I can’t, sir... Not after what that monster did to my father."
"What did that guy do to your father?" Caelus frowned hearing this.
Mason sighed as he spoke. "He broke both of my father’s legs and cut out his tongue."
"He deliberately used healing abilities afterward to seal the wounds incorrectly." Mason’s voice trembled with anger. "Ordinary healing abilities can no longer restore the missing tongue or properly repair his father’s legs."
"Only an extremely powerful healing ability capable of restoring missing body parts or completely reconstructing damaged tissue could help him."
Caelus was stunned. He realized killing Jason was absolutely the correct decision.
"That bastard..."
Mason finally lost control of his emotions. "My family only has four people. I wanted to use my talent, make money, and live peacefully with them."
"Then players like Jason arrived and ruined everything."
"Why?" Mason’s voice cracked. "Why can’t I just live normally?"
"I’m not some powerful player."
"I don’t want to fight anyone."
"I just want my family to be safe."
Caelus and Sylvia remained silent. They understood Mason’s pain, but words of comfort would not solve anything.
After a moment, Caelus spoke. "Then get stronger."
Mason looked up hearing his words.
"Remaining weak will not protect your family." Caelus’s tone was firm. "If you want to save your father and prevent something like this from happening again, you need enough power to control your own fate."
"Find yourself a Reality Breach Card."
"Cross over to Earth. Other people have done it before. You can too. There are beings on Earth with powerful healing abilities."
"And I’m sure your Talent will be useful, Mason. You just need to find the right people."
Mason slowly nodded. He still looked troubled, but Caelus’s words gave him a direction.
He wiped his face with his sleeve. "Thank you, sir. I’ll do my best."
Mason remained silent for several seconds. He eventually looked toward Caelus with a conflicted expression.
"Sir..."
"There’s something I need to tell you."
Mason apologized quietly. "I lied to you before."
"The Gacha Wheel... It really is my Talent."
