Ghost Matchmaking: Ghost Emperor Husband and Campus Queen Wife
Chapter 106: Bullying a Child? The Entire School Shaken, Lily’s Fury
A short while later.
BRRRING! The bell for class rang.
This was Yun Zhenyue’s first gym class at Chilling Middle School.
The gym teacher stood under an old locust tree at the edge of the field. He wore a faded, dark blue tracksuit and fidgeted constantly with the whistle around his neck, giving off a neurotic air.
The ghost students of Class 2 were all waiting with badminton rackets in hand.
The ghosts from Class 1, however, were extremely anxious.
They hadn’t brought their badminton rackets over yet.
"Where are your rackets?"
The gym teacher, growing impatient, immediately questioned the male class president.
"Teacher, we sent someone to get them. They should be back soon..."
the male class president said, bracing himself.
’He was extremely displeased with Megan and the others.’
’He’d asked them to grab some equipment, and they were still dawdling.’
’This gym teacher was not someone to be trifled with. He’d hand out corporal punishment at the drop of a hat. Thankfully, he seemed to favor Class 1. If it had been Class 2 whose equipment was late, he would have punished them long ago.’
Another two minutes passed!
Just as the gym teacher, who was pacing back and forth, was about to explode with rage...
Megan and the others returned, panting and clutching the rackets.
They were disheveled and filthy, their faces pale as if they had just survived a crisis. Some had their clothes torn, while others limped, clearly terrified.
Han Sumei, in particular, was in a terrible state. She hadn’t even recovered from her previous injuries, and now she had new ones.
"Hmph."
The gym teacher’s eyes were ice-cold as he took in the scene, but he didn’t say much.
Sensing the tense atmosphere, the group, having just escaped death, felt extremely wronged.
"Teacher... there was a monster in the equipment room. We almost died."
Megan explained, gasping for air, her voice filled with frustration.
They had gone into the equipment room thinking it was just a simple task of grabbing some rackets.
But they never expected...
The moment they stepped inside, the door shut on its own.
Before the girls could react,
a shadow emerged from the darkness, brandishing a knife, and lunged at them!
Luckily, there were many of them!
The Shadow Ghost didn’t kill them outright.
Instead, it stabbed their shadows with the knife!
Then it devoured all the severed parts of their shadows.
Now, under the red mist,
you could see that most of the girls’ shadows were incomplete. Some were missing an arm, others a leg.
The worst off was Han Sumei; half of her shadow had been hacked off!
Her shadow was still bleeding an eerie substance.
They were on the verge of losing their minds!
They had no idea what the consequences would be!
Just then, Loo Huan let out a sound of surprise. "Huh," she said, intrigued. "I’ve heard there’s a ghost in this school that specializes in eating people’s shadows. The parts of the shadow that are cut off represent lost lifespan."
"Tsk. Half her shadow is gone. If she was supposed to live to 80, now she’ll die at 40."
Upon hearing this,
Han Sumei, Megan, and the other girls were plunged into terror!
’What?!’
’They just went to get some equipment!’
’And they lost half their lives for it?’
"Fuck! Fuck!!!"
Megan’s breathing trembled as she cursed nonstop. She wanted to scream bloody murder. A third of her shadow had been cut off. That piece-of-shit class president had just cost her twenty or thirty years of her life for no reason!
"How could this happen... I... I have less than 20 years left to live?!"
Han Sumei’s pupils constricted to pinpricks, the whites of her eyes shot with blood.
The fear of impending death made her lips tremble uncontrollably, her heart filled with despair!
’Who would have thought such a simple task...’
’...would have such a devastating consequence for her!’
Yamada Aiko was doing relatively okay. Her shadow was only missing a finger, which probably meant a loss of one or two years of life at most.
Still, she felt helpless and sighed in dismay.
’All I can do is hope to find an item that can increase my lifespan later.’
The girls’ hearts were filled with bitterness and resentment, and their dissatisfaction with Chilling Middle School grew.
In particular, someone glanced at Yun Zhenyue.
They saw that her shadow was completely intact!
The contrast made them break down even more!
...
Seeing this,
the foreign audience members could hardly breathe!
They had just seen the girls escape with their lives.
They thought it was no big deal.
’So what if a piece of their shadow was missing?’
Who could have guessed?
That it was connected to their lifespan!
[What? Megan lost at least 20 years of her life? FUCK!!!]
[20 years is nothing to shout about! Miss Sumi’s shadow is the most damaged! Our Great Cold Country suffered the biggest loss!]
[How is that fair? Why wasn’t the Shadow Ghost there when that woman from Dragon Country went?]
[Thank goodness, thank goodness. Worshipping Dragon Country really works. Miss Aiko’s shadow is only missing a finger.]
[I told you! As long as you have His Highness Gu Yuan in your heart, your luck will improve. I’ve already hung his picture on my wall at home. I burn incense and pray to it every day.]
...
But seeing the panicked girls,
the gym teacher’s brow furrowed. He couldn’t be bothered with their feelings and roared, "All of you, shut up!"
"You’re late, and you dare make excuses?"
"Now, all of you, on the track! Ten laps!!!"
’Ten laps?’
The ghosts of Class 1 gritted their teeth in hatred when they heard this!
Their gazes toward Megan and the others were dark and menacing.
They didn’t care if the girls lived or died; all they knew was that they had been dragged into this!
Left with no choice, every one of them stepped onto the track, seething with resentment.
"Hm? Why aren’t you moving?"
Seeing the ghosts of Class 2 standing still, the gym teacher asked, displeased.
"Teacher, do we have to run too?" the female class president asked, bewildered. "We brought our rackets long ago. We’ve just been waiting for them."
The other ghosts in Class 2 thought the same thing.
’This punishment has nothing to do with us, right?’
But the gym teacher’s eyes widened upon hearing this, his gaze turning icy as he bellowed, "Didn’t you hear me? I said ALL of you! ALL OF YOU!!!"
"Are you not students of this school? Or were you born without ears?"
He already disliked the ghosts of Class 2; they were always dragging their feet in his class.
Little did he know,
in most cases, it was their ghost homeroom teacher who punished the Class 2 students, causing them to be late.
"This..."
The female class president felt as if a giant boulder was crushing her chest.
She clenched her fists in frustration, her knuckles cracking.
But students couldn’t attack teachers. Doing so would result in the most severe punishment!
"It’s okay, Class President. Let’s just run."
a female ghost whispered. They didn’t want to see their class president put in a difficult position.
With no other choice, the students of Class 2 also got on the track.
The ghosts of the two classes, one after the other,
began to run aimlessly around the field.
For humans, running was good exercise. For ghosts, it was a complete waste of time.
...
「A short time later.」
"Loo Huan, you...?"
They had only run three laps, but Yun Zhenyue saw Loo Huan’s face turn pale. She seemed to have run out of energy, her pace slowing until she had fallen to the very back of the group.
’She’s a ghost, isn’t she? Even I don’t feel tired yet, so what’s wrong with Loo Huan?’
"Miss Yun, you... don’t worry about me... I’m just weak..."
Loo Huan gritted her teeth, forcing her legs to move.
But even though the ghosts of Class 2 had slowed down for her, she still couldn’t keep up.
Yun Zhenyue couldn’t bear to see it and deliberately slowed her own pace to stay by Loo Huan’s side.
The two of them gradually fell away from the group, left behind like the shed tail of a gecko.
Time ticked by.
Both classes finally finished their ten laps.
Even Han Sumei, Megan, and the other girls managed to endure the ordeal and finish, their legs swollen. Someone immediately spat out a mouthful of blood, swayed, and collapsed unconscious.
With only a few minutes left before class ended,
there was no time to use the badminton rackets they had prepared.
"—TWEEET!!!"
The gym teacher blew his whistle, stopping the two who still had one lap to go.
"Didn’t you eat?"
"Because of you two, this entire class period has been wasted!"
"Are you deliberately trying to cause trouble? Do you have a problem with my teaching?"
The gym teacher’s voice was chilling. When he heard Yun Zhenyue explain that wasn’t the case, he suddenly let out a sneer, his mouth twisting into a vicious, savage arc.
"Lies. Disgusting. Truly disgusting!"
After speaking, he crushed the whistle in his hand.
The next moment!
The whistle transformed into a blood-red pointer!
The pointer looked like a skinned, dead snake, glowing with an eerie, cold light. As the gym teacher gripped its end, a sticky, viscous blood seeped out from its body before being reabsorbed.
CRACK!
The gym teacher swung the pointer!
The terrifying pointer instantly extended, its material becoming flexible. It tore through the air with a loud whoosh and lashed Loo Huan’s calf.
In an instant, the skin on her calf split open, the flesh torn.
"Ngh!"
Loo Huan grunted in pain. Already at her limit, her right leg gave out. Thankfully, Yun Zhenyue was there to support her, preventing her from collapsing.
"You—"
Yun Zhenyue was incandescent with rage at the sight.
’He never set a time limit for finishing the run!’
’Loo Huan had been persevering. A verbal punishment would have been one thing, but how could this teacher be so vicious?’
’That one lash almost finished Loo Huan!’
’Two more, and wouldn’t she be beaten to death?’
"Me what?"
"Get back to running! You too, hurry up!"
The gym teacher tightened his grip on the pointer, his aura growing more menacing as he stared daggers at Yun Zhenyue and Loo Huan.
It was clear that if they slowed down even for a second, the pointer would lash out again!
Before Yun Zhenyue could retort,
Loo Huan, still leaning on her, whispered through the pain, "Don’t get angry... He doesn’t know who you are... Once I finish running... I’m gonna act all high and mighty... I’ll make him regret this."
"This is no time for showing off! Are you an idiot?!"
Yun Zhenyue ignored Loo Huan’s attempts to calm her down and stepped directly in front of her.
"What a fine pair of friends. Since you want to take the punishment for her, then as you wish!"
The gym teacher sneered at the sight and raised the pointer high in his hand!
Just as Yun Zhenyue was about to dodge!
THUD!
THUD! THUD!
A terrifying, invisible aura suddenly descended upon the entire field. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Yun Zhenyue suddenly felt her left eye burning.
The scarlet double pupil, which she had never paid much mind, suddenly overlapped and intertwined!
What followed was a wave of ultimate fury!
The rage was like a volcano, dormant for ten thousand years, suddenly erupting. Her mind was consumed by this single emotion, an overwhelming desire to tear the person before her to shreds!
To break his bones and tendons, grind them to dust, and scatter the ashes!
Although she was angry, she had never experienced such a surging, all-consuming fire of rage!
It was a rage born from the resentment that follows the deepest despair!
Like a blazing inferno!
Like a collapsing mountain!
’But... who is it that’s so angry?’
"Haaa..."
Yun Zhenyue gasped, breathing in the scorching air as a strange, blood-red flush spread from her neck to the tips of her ears.
Her eerie left eye was wide open, its sclera webbed with blood vessels.
VMMMM!
An oppressive yin energy, intense enough to sweep across the entire Chilling Middle School, gathered around her, blotting out the sky!
"What’s going on? Are you doing this?"
The gym teacher’s eyes filled with shock and suspicion. He had no idea what was happening.
’The whip hasn’t even hit her yet!’
’This is just a normal punishment for a student. How could it trigger such an anomaly?’
’It’s almost as if Mr. Luo has returned.’
The gym teacher looked up at the sky, which was thick with dark clouds, as if a storm was about to break.
But as soon as he lowered his head,
he suddenly saw a strange creature and couldn’t help but shiver.
It was a small white cat with empty eye sockets.
