Chapter 63: Chapter 49: One-Hit Kill

Unlike the Knights of the Human Empire, the power of the Scaya Dragon Descendants came from the ancient bloodline within them.

Dragonfolk, Mixed-blood Dragonfolk, Pure-blood Dragonfolk, Original Bloodline, Ancient Bloodline...

Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warriors were the offspring produced when Pure-blood Dragonfolk interbred with species from other worlds, causing them to inherit only a portion of the Bloodline Power.

These conquerors from the Ancient Dragon Nest had spread across countless worlds. Starting in the first millennium of the Dark Ages, they ruled the Human World for two thousand years.

Grillers World was originally the territory of the Scaya Dragon Descendants, but wherever the Radiant Holy Sword reaches is considered the ancient domain of the Human Empire.

The Empire’s war with the Scaya Dragon Descendants on Grillers World had already raged for a thousand years.

The Knights of the Dragon Hunter Battle Group were descended from the Original Bloodline. The Alien Race had sought to defile the noble blood of the Radiant Empire, to encroach upon its lands and its people.

But all their actions accomplished was to grant these Knights even greater power and an eternal, unquenchable fury!

Because they carried the blood of the Alien Race, the Loyalty of the Dragon Hunter Battle Group was never proven with empty words—only with sacrifice and battle!

A sufficiently strong Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior was comparable in strength to a Four-star Human Knight. Certain rare, special breeds could even surpass the power of a Six-star Knight.

Unlike the noble Pure-blood Warriors, these mixed-bloods were the absolute backbone of the Scaya Dragon Descendants’ army. Their numbers were vast, and the Ancient Dragon Nest would feel no regret no matter how many of them died.

Even so, these monsters stood over three meters tall, the power of the Elements coursing through their bloodlines and scales. They could effortlessly slaughter a hundred-man squadron from an Imperial Infantry Corps and were not creatures an ordinary Imperial Knight could hope to match.

They possessed an extremely high resistance to Extraordinary Power, immunity to the Mind Control of Mages, and the ability to withstand the Elemental Attribute Abilities of Knights. Even the Wizards—a race that remained powerful despite the collapse of their civilization—would get a headache just from encountering these savage creatures from a primeval age.

Unfortunately, the beast it faced was Reinhardt!

Its scales, overflowing with Elemental Power, might resist Magic and various forms of Extraordinary Power, but a heavy giant axe and unadorned Body Techniques couldn’t care less.

Reinhardt’s heart remained as calm as still water as he slaughtered these common Dragonfolk Soldiers. Even bathing in the blood of the Alien Race, listening to their dying screams, and watching his Slaughter Points steadily rise failed to ignite the fighting spirit deep within him!

Then, a Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior appeared in his line of sight.

The blood-red symbol of the Steel of the Heart manifested next to the behemoth’s head.

A grin spread across Reinhardt’s face. As the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior charged him at high speed, he gripped his axe with both hands. The high-pressure air sacs on his back instantly fired at full power, the roaring airflow unleashing a terrifying sonic boom!

His body shot forward like a cannonball, crushing all flesh and blood in his path as he carved a bloody trail straight through the Dragonfolk army!

He slammed into the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior with incredible ferocity!

Carrying an unparalleled force, the Black Cutter slammed down heavily on the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior’s bone-toothed curved saber!

CRACK—!

BANG—!

The curved saber, forged from a Giant Dragon’s Fang, shattered on impact. This terrifying creature was strong enough to tear a Three-star Knight limb from limb, but in that moment, its brown-yellow, vertical pupils—once filled with rage and cruelty—became perfectly clear.

In the brief instant of their collision, the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior violently twisted its torso. The blade of the Black Cutter scraped past its chest. Using the momentum from the turn, its long tail whipped out like a steel cable, hooking onto Reinhardt’s left leg from behind in a lightning-fast sneak attack.

Its chest immediately began to swell, preparing to trip Reinhardt and finish the Human Empire Knight off with its Dragon Breath.

But the immense, nigh-irresistible power that surged from its tail made the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk’s pupils shrink in shock!

’This Human Knight...’

Often, the battlefield only offers a single chance to make a choice. Misjudging the gap in strength between oneself and the enemy came with only one price: death—!

Far from tripping the Human Knight as it had intended, the tail hooked around Reinhardt’s leg only caused the warrior to lose its own balance.

Reinhardt released his axe, and the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk released its tail.

But that brief moment of tension was all the opening Reinhardt needed. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

The high-pressure air sacs on his back whined into overload as he forced his body into a twist. His right hand clamped onto the Mixed-blood Warrior’s forearm like an iron vise. Both of them left their feet, and as inertia sent them tumbling uncontrollably to the side, Reinhardt’s Steel Boots slammed viciously into the Dragonfolk’s midsection with the force of a freight train!

Learning in the midst of battle.

Growing stronger through combat.

Reinhardt had never received any systematic training in Body Techniques, but he possessed an innate combat instinct!

The inspiration for this move came from the advancing side kick Fear Knight Dortmund had once used on him; Reinhardt had merely adapted it to fit the situation.

By tightly gripping the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk’s arm, his seemingly simple flying kick erupted with unparalleled destructive power!

The sound of shattering bone was sickeningly clear.

At that same moment, the agonized shriek of the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior echoed across the battlefield!

The Body Techniques of Death Butcher Dortmund were simple and unadorned, but shockingly lethal!

If not for the protection of his Morphic Armor, he would have been the one with a shattered pelvis and spine, with his internal organs crushed to a pulp.

A Knight’s physique and power were truly astounding!

Even the body of a Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior was no match for a terrifying kick capable of shattering steel!

It tried to attack Reinhardt with its fiery Dragon Breath, but its completely numb lower body and midsection prevented it from even mustering the attack.

The searing liquid just dribbled from its mouth and nose like saliva, thick as molten rock.

It all happened so fast.

So fast, in fact, that the Dragon Fire Barrier Knight Order was just preparing to send men to help Reinhardt fend off the Mixed-blood Dragonfolk’s attack. But after a single clash, the creature was already on the ground writhing in agony, a sight they could hardly believe.

The Dragon Hunter Battle Group had been fighting the Scaya Dragonfolk for a thousand years.

They knew better than anyone what terrifying creatures Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warriors were. Too many new recruits and Low Tier Knights had died at the hands of these monsters.

Even for them, it took two Three-star Knights working in tandem, or a single Captain-Level Knight, to confront one directly.

The two Knights assigned to support him hadn’t even moved yet. In a single exchange, the Mixed-blood Warrior—a creature that would have given even them immense trouble—was already on the ground.

The shock in their eyes was no less than that of the onlooking Scaya Dragonfolk Soldiers!

After all, this damned creature was the Dragon Hunter Battle Group’s number one rookie killer!

The Dragon Hunter Battle Group was an Imperial Legion that specialized in fighting the Scaya Dragon Descendants. In contrast, Reinhardt’s former unit, the Steel Knight Order, was part of the Seventh Group Army, primarily tasked with suppressing local rebellions and dealing with invasions by the Abyss Legion.

But for this young Knight, who had never even faced the Scaya Dragon Descendants, to fell a Large-Scale-Level Mixed-blood Dragonfolk Warrior in a single clash... such power was simply unheard-of!
