Chapter 146: Willborne Abilities!

The dark figures of the dozen or so remaining Bloodborne zipped through space, heading right towards Seth.

Brandon and the others wanted to act, but they faltered. Something in their gut told them Seth didn’t really need any help.

Seth clenched tight, the blood crystal bursting into shards as black crackles of annihilation flashed on his fists, burning with a bright blue hue.

Seth’s Asura gene lineage had been forever altered by the evolution of his human genes.

Now he couldn’t manifest another pair of arms like before, and his abilities could only overlap on the single pair he had.

Honestly, this might have sounded like a degradation, but it wasn’t. In fact, it was a great boon.

To put it into context: humans were two-legged creatures, and just because a cheetah could run so fast on four legs didn’t mean a human running on four legs would ever become as fast.

No matter how the person tried and got used to it, four legs would forever be unnatural for humans. If you truly wanted to reach your full speed, you had to run on two.

Even if this might not surpass that of a cheetah, it would definitely be a thousand times better than running with four.

This was Seth’s predicament with the Asura gene. He had never been able to fully integrate the art of four arms into his combat form.

Though he had gotten used to it, it still wasn’t quite natural.

Hence, his combat forms always had minute flaws — delays in processing or other inconveniences.

But now he had none of that!

Seth didn’t bother equipping the grim set. No, that would be overkill.

The shadows descended upon him, but Seth moved even faster.

Thousands of punches overlapped into a single point, causing an extreme accumulation of tide!

BOOOOOOM!

Everything in the direction of his punch was obliterated — the Bloodborne and the terrain alike.

His head tilted, narrowly evading a stab by another. His amethyst pupils spun, and he whipped out his arm.

Whoosh!

Wind blew cold unto the others as the Bloodborne vanished. No shuddering wave of impact, no ash, no remains — nothing.

Only swallowed whole by annihilation...

The dark currents thrummed in the air, sending chills down the spines of the Bloodborne race members.

Kaiden, for one, wasn’t feeling the idea of attacking Seth as wise any longer.

The remaining eight figures spun in an attempt to flee.

Seth caught two by the tail. Sadly, Kaiden was fortunate enough to be out of reach.

Gripping each figure by the tail with both hands, he whipped backwards, using their tails as handles.

He whipped both figures into a gruesome impact. The two smashed into each other, exploding into gore, blood, and innards.

Seth flicked his fingers. Annihilation crackled, tearing through the spatial pockets and pulverizing the rattling blood crystals.

From the start of the renewed clash till now, Seth hadn’t moved an inch...

So when he stepped forward, a horrifying sight played out. It was as though space compressed itself in his wake, making each step worth a hundred!

And why was this? Reading the flickering prompt flashing gold in Seth’s retinas, one would understand.

[Congratulations! Due to your upgrade in race, you have been granted two Willborne abilities!]

[Chronostasis (Unique): The moment the intent to harm is detected, time stretches infinitely, slowing until causality freezes and cause and effect are locked, so that the harm can’t progress forward in time!]

[Warning!!: This is a Willborne ability. Effect may vary due to disparity of will quality and density levels over foes!]

[Dimensional Strider: Each step makes space fold continuously, making your speed relative but the distance traveled a thousand times more!]

[Warning!!: This is a Willborne ability. Effect may vary due to the ability of the user’s will to influence reality!]

[Congratulations! Due to the Willborne skills, User has acquired time and space comprehension values!]

Seth wasn’t the same. He was something more. He was human, but no longer mundane!

In a flash, a Bloodborne suddenly felt a tug on its tail. It couldn’t resist as a foot came bearing down.

Its sternum was crushed, its corpse continued to twitch, so Seth stretched out a hand crackling with annihilation, crushing its blood crystal core.

Shriek after shriek rang out, the Bloodborne slowly being slaughtered as they tried to flee!

Kaiden’s scalp went numb. His situational priority had shifted from preventing the humans who had discovered their racial secret from escaping... to struggling to leave here alive.

At this point, he raced to the edge of the blood world, holding some modicum of hope that once on the plain world Seth would be restrained in his actions.

And he was correct — hence why Seth was hot on his heels, slaying all within reach.

Never in his existence had Kaiden el Dracul felt such fear, such terror — from a human, no less.

He felt ashamed, but that didn’t affect his logic. He knew if he dared halt, he would die.

It wasn’t a matter of if, it was a matter of when!

Kaiden’s heart hammered as he poured all the energy gained from burning blood into speed.

He zipped through space so fast he tore a trench in his wake, the air blistering hot. Even his sturdy, resilient scaled body was taking a dip in vitality by the second.

But it was a worthy trade for each second of life he bought!

Seth ripped through foe after foe, crushing crystal after crystal, until the last shriek died down.

The last Bloodborne aside from Kaiden had been slain...

Kaiden’s gut sank. He knew his brilliant strategy of just being faster than the others wouldn’t save him anymore.

He was the only target left, meaning his death was coming — and fast!

The stench of death dug into his nostrils. He could have sworn he felt the sinister breath of the grim reaper over his shoulder.

He burned his blood with frenzied abandon. He tore through the terrain. But how could speed overcome the ability to fold space itself?

Seth closed the gap at a frightening pace. His steps were leisurely, but the distance traversed was mind-boggling.

But just when he was so close to having Kaiden in his grasp, he halted, his head snapping toward a certain direction, his pupils scanning the horizon warily.

On his skin, the still glyph once more stirred awake, a pair of bright blue draconic eyes snapping open.

Seth wasn’t the only one who sensed the familiar presence — a draconic presence!

Suddenly the earth itself shook as a bone-shuddering roar peeled through the skies.
