Mu Sha didn’t work late in the lab today. She told the professor she was heading home directly. She placed the Folic Acid prescribed by the Doctor on the coffee table, feeling utterly exhausted, and went straight to the bathroom after changing into slippers.

A sudden indescribable taste surged from her stomach, her gaze filled with helplessness, yet as before, nothing came out when she tried to vomit.

She disliked this feeling and was annoyed by the sensation of dry heaving. However, her frustration didn’t prevent the situation; instead, it made her stomach feel even worse.

She clutched the sink tightly, attempting to calm the nausea, but unexpectedly felt more queasy. Staring at the air freshener placed next to the sink, she leaned closer to smell it, which only made her more nauseous, so she shoved it into a drawer to alleviate her discomfort.

After finally calming down, Mu Sha fell into another kind of indescribable struggle. She really disliked her current state. Having been used to doing experiments in the lab every day, now she suddenly found everything in chaos.

Yan Lv parked the car precisely in the parking space. As he pulled out the car key, he hesitated for a long time but eventually steadied himself and walked into the elevator.

He cautiously opened the door and saw that the house was very quiet. Surveying the surroundings, he didn’t see any sign of Mu Sha. After making a turn, he suddenly noticed something placed on the coffee table. Curiously picking it up, he realized it was Folic Acid. Upon examining, he found the packaging to resemble a medicine bottle, so he glanced at the leaflet.

His pupils suddenly dilated, his hand gripping the bottle more tightly. Fearing that the Folic Acid might inadvertently fall, Yan Lv’s body suddenly seemed frozen.

Mu Sha finally let out a sigh of relief, went to the bathroom, and quickly removed her makeup. Staring at herself in the mirror, she suddenly realized her complexion didn’t look right.

Her colleague’s earlier words hadn’t caught her attention, but now she discovered her complexion was indeed not good, lacking any color, looking somewhat unhealthily pale. So she thought about the supplements she had previously bought. Standing up to get them, she suddenly remembered something and looked down at her belly, wondering: If I’m pregnant, shouldn’t I avoid eating those supplements?

Mu Sha hadn’t expected that the matter of pregnancy would still sway her, and she was even more surprised to find her recently-made decision starting to waver. It was like all the strength had been drained from her, collapsing into the chair with a somewhat dejected expression.

She didn’t know how to open up to Yan Lv or what his reaction would be if he knew the truth. Maybe he would be unhappy, or maybe he wouldn’t be angry at all, possibly finding it baffling. She had considered all sorts of outcomes, yet Mu Sha simply couldn’t bring herself to say anything. She was afraid of hearing anything she did want to hear, even though she had just decided not to have this child.

With a clattering sound, Mu Sha was startled.

She stood up in a panic, thinking there shouldn’t be anyone else at this time. Suddenly, she wondered if it might be a thief, so she randomly grabbed a pair of scissors from the drawer and, trembling all over, approached the doorway.

Yan Lv’s gaze passed through the slightly open door. He heard faint footsteps from inside, feeling a deep sense of helplessness. He had clearly seen the effect of the Folic Acid earlier and was even more determined to have a proper conversation with Mu Sha.

"Ah..."

Suddenly, a woman with scissors rushed out of the room, and Yan Lv looked at the pale, frightened Mu Sha in surprise. Staring at the scissors in her hand, he felt an unspeakable helplessness.
