"Not bad... I can already feel my hands flowing with more strength." He muttered as he carefully studied the details, subconsciously tightening and loosening his fingers while testing his grip strength. The muscles along his forearm felt denser, more responsive, as though something within them had awakened.

Before leaving the house, he poured the remaining free points he had already planned to invest in strength and instead invested them in stamina. After all, he could not tell how long it would take to bring down a wild beast, especially considering he would be focusing purely on martial arts without relying on external abilities.

====

It was already noon. The sun had taken its rightful place in the sky, blessing the bushes and tall grasses with its warm radiance as the three of them strolled along the narrow forest routes. Light filtered through the leaves and cast shifting shadows across the ground.

Picking the two brothers as his hunting companions had proven to be one of the best decisions he could have taken, as the two were quite talkative, but in beneficial ways that did not feel exhausting.

Floki learned about various wild beasts, their weak points, and the tricks they would most likely use when cornered. He also learned about the kinds of bait that would likely work in capturing them, and even the mating calls for specific wild beasts that could be used as bait to trap and capture them more efficiently.

Floki was the type that preferred silence over anything, even if it was an awkward one, yet with the two brothers, he found himself talking and asking questions more than he usually would. To be honest, he came to like the two brothers even more as the conversation continued naturally.

After some time, they went past the moderately bushy area and entered the dense zone where even walking became difficult. The trees grew closer together, their branches intertwining above, and the air became heavier.

Fortunately, Jabba was quite skilled at determining the better route, and with him leading the way, they ventured through the place faster. Almost half an hour after entering this area, they finally found their first hunting zone.

It was an area packed with larger trees and thick grasses that reached up to their knees.

The first difference Floki noticed in this area, even before the brothers marked it as a hunting zone, was the eerie silence. Unlike their route here, there were no birds singing nor insects chirping. Even the rustling of leaves seemed restrained.

The three of them began walking cautiously and switched to using hand signals to communicate. They hid themselves behind a thick tree before sneakily observing the clearing ahead.

"Goblins..."

Their green pigmented skin, their dwarfed physiques, their strange facial features, and the crude weapons that lay beside them were all he needed to confirm what they were facing.

His heartbeat hastened with thrill. The thrill of seeing fantastical beings he had only read about in novels and now having the opportunity to fight them in reality.

He took a few deep breaths and observed once more, forcing himself to remain calm.

He did a careful headcount and counted over a dozen goblins.

Fortunately, they were all currently relaxing, sitting or leaning against trees, and none of them appeared to be actively on guard at first glance.

Yet something within Floki doubted that taking down goblins, a race of creatures known to be extremely crafty, would be as easy as killing them in their sleep. The silence felt deliberate, almost arranged.

As though his thoughts were the trigger to whatever the goblins had in store, beside him, Jabba took a cautious step forward when out of nowhere a pair of arrows shot toward him. The sharp sound of them piercing through the air created a whistling noise that instantly alerted the goblins in the clearing.

Fortunately, Jabba was quick on his feet and moved out of the arrows’ path in time to avoid a fatal wound. He was only left with a shallow graze on his shoulder.

But his single misstep had already raised the stakes of their mission as the goblins all rose at once and grabbed their weapons with surprising coordination.

Their peculiar shrieking sounds, followed by their rapid and ragged movements as they charged toward them in a chaotic wave, thundered across the forest clearing.

Anton and Jabba’s faces turned ashen with fear. As experienced hunters, they knew the dangers of facing goblins, especially an entire pack of them at once in their own territory.
