10,000x Reward Multiplier: Hell-level Kingdom Building-Chapter 30: [0] Kellan Blackstone
Being a smooth convincer had always been one of the qualities Floki possessed, though he seldom used it due to his quiet nature.
Nonetheless, under the current situation, he used this precious quality of his to the fullest.
He started by utilising their worries for his safety to open up a deeper path into their true feelings of vengeance and justice, carefully guiding their thoughts step by step.
He also made them realise that he was unique compared to their lord, as he could get stronger quickly.
He even made use of his fight in the dungeon, which they had personally witnessed, to convince them of his might, allowing them to vividly recall how difficult it was for him to kill the lesser goblins at the beginning, how he had struggled at first, and how he had gradually become stronger and eventually killed them with ease, even taking down a goblin champion by himself, which was by no means an easy feat.
As those memories resurfaced, their expressions shifted subtly, their earlier doubt slowly giving way to belief.
He also used the bronze wheel of legacy, which appeared before them, to let them know he was different. Well, while this was a big fat lie, they had not seen anything like it before, so they accepted it quite easily.
Floki did not reveal the existence of the system to them and simply told them he had a unique ability to adapt and grow stronger under any situation.
"Give me just a little bit more time and you’ll be surprised by how strong I have become." He stood confidently and declared, not caring about how he looked or sounded.
This opportunity was too important for him to care about those things, and he knew it clearly.
Jabba and Anton were not as surprised anymore by the maturity of their chief. His actions so far had already proven he was a different and better person now.
Still, they could not help but wonder what exactly had happened between him and ’that man’, as the thought lingered quietly in their minds.
"Your revenge has become mine. I am someone who supports justice, and I’ll make sure your families are saved from the claws of that evil man." He concluded, this time wearing a smile, clearly proud of himself and expecting the result to follow. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
The women were touched by his speech and brilliance, yet their expressions were not completely firm, as traces of hesitation still lingered within their eyes.
His confidence pushed them to slowly change their personal goals and begin to consider relying on him.
Even though he was young, even young enough to be some of their sons, his maturity and sense of justice made them see him as someone older and wiser than them, though a few of them still exchanged uncertain glances.
"Please excuse us, we have to discuss among ourselves." Angelina stood up and said courteously.
"Sure, take all the time you want. I cannot force you to take a decision you do not like." Floki agreed with a smile.
The women nodded with relief and went to discuss near their colleague who was asleep. They did not want to leave anyone out, as it was an important decision, thus they woke her up, speaking in hushed tones among themselves.
Anton and Jabba strolled forward and stood on both sides of Floki.
"That was incredible," Anton praised, his voice carrying a hint of genuine admiration.
"Your father would be very proud to see the leader you’ve become," Jabba added.
Floki only smiled.
"Umm... Floki," Anton called out.
"Yes?" Floki responded.
"That man earlier... Do you really not know who he is?" he asked, his tone turning slightly serious.
"Not exactly," Floki responded. "I only know his name is Breeze, but I don’t remember either his name or his face."
He turned to look at them and saw the two of them exchange worried glances after his words, their expressions tightening slightly.
"You guys seemed furious earlier when you saw him. That means you know who he actually is." Floki asked to confirm, and they nodded. Then he asked the important question, "Who is he?"
"Young chief, that man is the knight of Blackstone village," Jabba answered.
"W-what!"
Floki let it out, his tone revealing his genuine shock as his eyes widened noticeably.
"The knight... of Blackstone?" he repeated, his voice dropping slightly as the weight of those words slowly settled in.
Now he understood the reaction of Jabba and Anton when they saw him, and why they had been so tense.
The knight is said to have been summoned from another world by the chief of Blackstone village, Kellan Blackstone, using the powers granted to him by the crystal of authority.
He is known popularly in Ironside and neighbouring villages as the strongest man, as no one has been strong enough to rival him.
With him by the side of Kellan Blackstone, they have been able to carry out many seemingly impossible feats, and there were even rumours that Kellan had begun brewing conflict with a town, which was by no means a small matter, as it would take several villages to take down the town he was challenging.
"So..." Floki uttered lowly, his thoughts turning heavier.
Jabba and Anton nodded, seemingly glad that their young chief had finally understood their actions.
"We thought he had finally come to take your life," Anton said.
"We were so worried that we ignored the fact he could kill us without moving and tried to get you away from him," Jabba added, his tone carrying the care of a big brother as his bald head reflected the gentle rays of the morning sun that had taken its place in the sky.
Floki could not deny that he wasn’t touched by their care, and a faint warmth stirred within him.
But he was too shocked by the revelation right now. Not just shocked, he was confused, and the confusion weighed on him.
’He is that person, yet he tried to help me?’
Floki could understand the rescue part. After all, Kellan Blackstone would not be able to obtain his crystal of authority if he was dead, so it was not strange he sent someone to keep an eye out for him.
’Breeze mentioned he wanted me to grow stronger? Why would he want that? Is he trying to betray his lord?’ he wondered, his brows tightening slightly.
Or were there other ulterior motives behind his move, something deeper that he could not yet see?
’Damnit, I hate not having an answer in such a situation.’ Floki gradually became frustrated as he thought about it, his thoughts growing more restless.
Thankfully, his frustration was temporarily halted as Angelina and the others came to share their decision with him, their expressions now more resolved than before.
"We agree to become your followers," Angelina said with a gentle smile.
Floki returned her gesture and strode forward, grabbing her hands with care as he looked into her eyes confidently.
He was taller than her, thus, she had to tilt her head a little to gaze into his eyes, which held nothing but sincerity at this moment.
Floki lifted his head and scanned the other women’s faces, noticing their mixed expressions of resolve and lingering nerves, before uttering,
"Welcome to Ironside village."
And as though his words were the final say, a notification was triggered.
