100\% DROP RATE : Why is My Inventory Always so Full?-Chapter 51 - Yin-Yang
Chapter 51: Chapter 51 - Yin-Yang
The Yin-Yang Slime hovered in midair. Its form was slowly rotating with an eerie calm.
Lucien gulped as he watched it.
’So that’s why it’s called the Yin-Yang Slime...’ he thought.
Suddenly, the rotation accelerated.
The air shimmered and a glowing Yin-Yang pattern formed before the slime.
Its like a magic circle come to life.
Then from its two eyes, chains burst forth.
One black, one white.
They shot toward Lucien at lightning speed.
He had no time to react.
"Too fast."
The chains slammed into him. It wrapped around his body.
The white chain struck first and instantly...
SLIME BEAST MODE and SLIME MERGE were forcefully deactivated.
It sealed his skills.
Skittles collapsed to the ground with a soft plop, visibly weakened.
Then the black chain followed.
Lucien felt it immediately.
His energy was being drained. His stamina was also slipping away like water through his fingers.
A groan escaped his lips.
The pain reminded him of the time he was cursed. Only... this was milder.
But the helplessness?
It was the same.
Skittles began to panic, hopping frantically and ramming into the chains. But no matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t free him.
Lucien gritted his teeth, the cold grip of despair tightening around him.
Then...
He felt it.
A subtle tug deep within his chest.
His divine energy core.
The Divine Energy at the center of his being stirred to life as if responding to his struggle. It was trying to help him.
Lucien focused.
Teeth clenched.
Forcing himself to ignore the pain.
He closed his eyes and reached inward, calling upon the divine energy that pulsed within him.
Then he willed it. Hard!
A surge of radiant power burst forth from his core.
Golden light exploded from his body in all directions, burning through the bindings.
The chains evaporated like mist in sunlight.
The Yin-Yang magic circle cracked... then shattered.
But then he noticed something.
Above him, shadows blanketed the ceiling.
It was thick and heavy like storm clouds gathering overhead.
They swallowed every corner of the chamber.
Then it happened.
From the darkness, beams of light rained down.
It’s like needles from the heavens.
Lucien froze.
There was nowhere to run.
No cover.
No way out.
He grabbed Skittles and scanned the area in a panic.
His mind was racing.
On instinct, he channeled Divine Energy into his eyes.
And that’s when he saw it.
Some of the falling light needles... wasn’t real.
They shimmered faintly...
Illusions.
Without hesitation, Lucien jumped, landing in one of the safe zones.
Safe.
But the relief was brief.
The safe zones shifted...changing every second.
He had to keep moving.
Dodging.
Leaping.
Surviving.
Zone to zone.
Second to second.
He ran through the deadly rain.
But he wasn’t perfect.
A few real light needles struck him.
Once. Twice. More.
His body began to bleed. Wounds opened up as he pushed forward.
Step by agonizing step.
Still, he kept going.
Then Lucien saw it.
There was a pattern.
The safe zones... were steadily guiding him closer and closer to the Yin-Yang Slime.
His eyes lit up with realization.
’This is my chance.’
Adrenaline surged through his veins.
His legs screamed.
His wounds burned.
But he forced himself forward.
Step by step.
Zone by zone.
Until finally...
It was within range.
With the last of his divine energy, he summoned everything he had left into his palm.
A massive fireball roared to life.
He hurled it with a scream.
It soared across the chamber and struck the Yin-Yang Slime dead center.
BOOM.
The gooey form hissed and sizzled... then collapsed into a puddle.
The White Mana Core tumbled out, separating from the body.
Only the Black Mana Core remained, still surrounded by scraps of white slime.
But then... Lucien’s heart dropped.
Before his eyes, the slime began to regenerate.
Slowly.
Steadily.
The White Core floated upward. It was drawn back toward the black goo, trying to rejoin it.
Lucien clenched his fists as his body collapsed on the floor.
’No...’
Despair crept in.
He was out of strength.
Out of tricks.
’I can’t win this. Not like this... Not yet.’
But then...
Something unexpected happened.
Skittles jumped.
Higher than ever before.
It launched itself like a tiny missile straight at the floating White Core.
Smack!
The core was knocked out of the air and hit the ground with a thud.
In one smooth motion, Skittles absorbed it into its Slime Storage with a triumphant wiggle.
For a moment... Silence.
Then the Black Core shivered.
The remaining slime around it began to dissolve, melting away like ice under the sun.
And just like that... it was over.
The Yin-Yang Slime was dead.
Only the Black Mana Core remained, lying motionless on the floor.
Lucien blinked in disbelief.
[Ting!]
[You killed the Yin-Yang Slime Boss. You gained 4 gold coins.]
Then...
He laughed.
A loud, exhausted, almost delirious laugh.
"HAHAHAHA! I can’t believe it! You’re the MVP now, Skittles! Come here, let daddy give you a kiss!"
He scooped up his first pet and hugged it tight, spinning around in victory.
Skittles jiggled happily in his arms.
They did it.
Together.
But then...
His knees buckled.
The strength in his body vanished all at once.
The battle was over. The adrenaline had burned out.
Now, all that remained was exhaustion.
Lucien dropped to one knee, breathing heavily.
His limbs trembled with fatigue.
The only thing keeping him going... was the glimmer on the ground.
Drops.
He let out a deep sigh, shoulders slumping.
"What a damn long battle... These drops better be worth it."
His eyes scanned the floor.
A golden cube with three stars inside.
And beside it... a shining golden card.
"Critical," he muttered. "Max drop..."
He reached for the cube first, hands trembling slightly but his anticipation kept him steady.
Click.
As he picked it up, the system chimed softly in his ear.
He opened his INVENTORY.
There they were...new entries.
Both familiar and completely new.
His heart skipped a beat.
<Solar Core Crystal>

<Shadow Core Crystal>

<Orb of Equilbrium>

Lucien’s eyes gleamed as he studied the items in his inventory.
"Jackpot," he muttered, barely able to contain his grin.
Without hesitation, he reached for the Shadow Core Crystal.
It pulsed in his palm. Shadows swirled inside like a storm contained in glass.
He crushed it.
Dark energy spiraled out, wrapping around his arm before flowing up toward his forehead.
It sank into him.
Cold.
Silent.
Deep.
Then came the system notification.
[Ting!]
[You have gained an affinity in Dark Magic.]
A rush of power pulsed through his veins.
Lucien’s excitement spiked.
Light and Dark magic...
Two rare and opposing attributes.
And now... He possessed both.
Lucien’s gaze shifted to the final item. The legendary drop.
Orb of Equilibrium.
He already possessed both Light and Dark affinities but what would this do?
What kind of power was hidden inside?
Driven by curiosity, he retrieved it from his INVENTORY.
A sphere materialized in his hand.
Smooth.
Polished.
Radiant.
The Yin-Yang symbol glowed softly on its surface, rotating in slow, perfect motion.
It’s like a celestial body orbiting through time itself.
It shimmered with both light and shadow and for a moment, Lucien hesitated.
It was almost too beautiful to use.
But his hunger for power was greater than his awe.
Without another thought, he tightened his grip and crushed the orb in his hands.
And then...
The Yin-Yang pattern within the orb unraveled.
It floated into the air, casting a radiant projection that pulsed with both light and shadow.
A heartbeat later, it shot forward... Straight into Lucien’s forehead.
The moment it connected, he felt it.
A shift.
A stirring.
His Light and Dark affinities surged to life inside him.
No longer separate, no longer still.
They churned, restless... alive.
It felt as though the two elements were speaking to each other.
Melding.
Twisting.
Converging.
His body was flooded by their essence.
Warmth and coolness washed over him in waves.
So different yet perfectly synchronized.
Then... the chaos calmed.
The energy settled into something harmonious... something new.
[Ting!]
[You have gained an affinity in Eclipse Magic.]
Lucien blinked, stunned.
"Eclipse Magic?"
He stood there in silence as the words sank in.
He had never heard of such a thing.
Not in the academy.
Not in legends.
It was simply... unheard of.
Suddenly, another chime echoed in his ears.
[Ting!]
<Achievement Unlocked: Midnight Sun>
You’ve awakened the forgotten affinity of Eclipse Magic where Light and Dark no longer clash but converge.

<Gloves of the Eclipse>

Lucien couldn’t stop smiling.
All the pain.
All the struggle.
Every desperate step in that fight...
It had all led to this.
His reward.
He raised a hand and summoned his Magic Book.
Sure enough, it was updating.
But this time, it seemed slower than usual.
"Probably because of the Eclipse Affinity," he guessed. "Even the system needs time to process this."
While waiting, his attention shifted to the final drop.
The golden card.
He picked it up with a gleam in his eye.
Just as he hoped.
And then, a wide grin stretched across his face.
"Wow... Yin-Yang Slime. Haha! Another pokemon. Gotta catch ’em all!"
