10x Rewards: Conquering Women and Taming Beauties-Chapter 36: Crises Inside The Gate:
Vale took out what seemed to be a compass.
After opening it, it spun wildly before settling on a particular direction.
Narrowing her eyes suspiciously, Vale pointed in that direction.
"That’s where Sophie is. Remember to stay cautious, everyone," she said calmly, glancing at everyone, her eyes filled with wariness.
The two girls nodded. Meanwhile, a sword appeared in my grasp as I scanned the surroundings.
Strangely enough, once again, I didn’t feel the discomfort from the cursed energy that Vale spoke of.
Attributing this to my cursed nebula physique, which could adapt to any cursed energy, I decided not to inform Vale of this unique development.
With that, we began walking at an even pace, following the direction of the compass.
Naturally, there was no need to rush, as that could easily lead to the loss of one’s life. As such, we walked as calmly as possible...
Still, no matter how calmly we walked, it couldn’t offset the dangers inside the cursed gate.
Before long, a few glowing eyes widened, staring at us — the sight alone enough to send chills down one’s spine.
Instantly, a slender blade appeared in Vale’s grasp, while in the hands of the other two girls, spears appeared.
Growllll.
The sound of multiple creatures prowling repeatedly and waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack echoed through the fog.
The eyes remained glowing beneath the mist for a few seconds before, gradually, footsteps began to echo.
The sound of the beasts drawing nearer was louder than one would expect.
My heart thudded loudly in my chest, the tension rising ever so slightly by the second.
Before long, a shadow lunged in my direction. Following it, a few more shadows lunged toward us.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Multiple whooshing sounds echoed as the shadows launched toward all four of us.
’Dragon cursed art...’
A faint hissing sound followed as my blade moved, flowing smoothly, almost like a snake slithering through the air.
Before the shadow, which seemed to be a wolf, could react, its neck was severed from its body.
It collapsed to the ground, lifeless. A dull expression lingered in its eyes as it stared blankly into nothing.
"Die..." Vale’s voice was eerily calm as it echoed directly into the minds of everyone.
Feeling a sudden wave of dizziness from her words, I turned just in time to see the creature lunging toward her collapse midair, dead.
The fading embers of pinkish hue in her eyes explained exactly what had happened.
’Her eyes... they are that terrifying?’ I whispered internally, a strange mix of terror and anticipation rising within me...
The other two succubuses swung their spears, using a spear art that both of them clearly seemed to have mastered.
A green wind blade erupted from their spears simultaneously and tore apart both creatures in a single slash.
More wolves jumped out from the shadows. However, this time, Vale’s eyes turned pink, and she quickly glanced in the direction of the cursed creatures.
"Die..." Under the command carried within her voice, the wolves collapsed and fell to the ground, unmoving.
It was as though the sight alone had terrified the wolves that still remained hidden in the shadows.
Despite noticing a few glowing lights deeper in the fog, they didn’t dare move to attack us.
After all, no one wanted to attack something they didn’t understand...
’Such terrifying eyes... is it on the same level as Mother’s own?’
Imagining possessing ten times the strength of both eyes, I couldn’t help finding it difficult to suppress my anticipation.
Finally, we continued on our way, deeper into the unknown.
After all, without being able to see where we were going, we could only approach blindly.
Still, under the guidance of the compass, we at least knew that the place was safe enough for humans to survive.
"Sophie’s a little bit weaker than me, so I feel reassured knowing that she’s alive," Vale said with a small smile on her face.
"Reassured?" I raised a brow quizzically.
Having thought they were enemies, I was surprised that Vale seemed pleased that she was alive.
"Mhhh," Vale nodded, "with this we know there isn’t any truly perilous danger the further we go."
Stunned, I couldn’t help staring at Vale, a peculiar expression appearing on my face.
It seemed I had been overthinking the situation.
Shaking my head slightly, we continued deeper into the fog.
Along the way, we encountered more creatures of all kinds, but it still wasn’t to an extent that we couldn’t handle.
Just after we finished dealing with the creatures, Vale glanced at her surroundings and said calmly, "Come out, humans, there’s no need to hide anymore..."
"You really sensed us, demon." A young man standing amidst the fog said with a smile as he slowly approached our location.
Surprised that he was floating in the air, I couldn’t help staring at him for longer than necessary.
From the side, two more people stepped out: a middle-aged man with a bronze hammer resting over his shoulders, and beside him was a lady with nice curves, a beautiful face, and a gaze sharp enough to kill.
The young man’s eyes landed on me, and an irritated expression immediately appeared on his face.
"Who would have expected a human to be traveling so calmly with a group of demons." He frowned slightly, narrowing his eyes as though trying to peer through the identity hidden beneath my mask.
"You should be Jason, right?" Vale asked, her voice as smooth and calm as ever.
"As expected of Vale, the uncrowned queen." He praised sincerely, tilting his head slightly as though carefully examining her.
Vale shrugged lightly. "Who wouldn’t know you with how much arrogance you display every day?"
Just as Jason was about to continue speaking, she cut him off.
"Are you going to fight, or do you want to keep rambling on?"
Jason’s lips twitched slightly as he stared at Vale and the others.
"Kill the two little demons." He said to the lady, who instantly vanished.
"Leave the human with a breath in his lungs. I want to know why he’s colluding with demons."
"Alright!" the middle-aged man responded and lunged toward me without hesitation.
Brandishing my sword, I quickly struck forward.
"As for you..." his eyes scanned Vale up and down, "I’ll deal with you myself." He said with a cold smile before flying swiftly down toward her.
"You should know me by now..."
"Die." Vale said coldly, her eyes boring down onto Jason’s frame.
Instantly, Jason shut his eyes tightly, avoiding a direct look into her gaze.
"Of course I know about your cursed ability, and I know about the flaws it possesses." Jason said with a cold smile.
Despite his eyes being closed, he was perfectly able to sense everything in his surroundings. This was the result of training his perception to an abnormal level.
As though he could pinpoint Vale’s exact location, he swung his blade toward her.
Vale calmly parried the sword strike as if she had already expected her special eye ability to fail.
Smoothly, she swung her blade toward Jason’s neck, threatening to slice him apart. After exchanging a few blows, it became clear that both of them were evenly matched.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, I was having a hard time dealing with the middle-aged man.
His large hammer was as heavy as a mountain, and every time it crashed down against my blade, the impact rattled through my arms as though it might tear the weapon apart, the force making me stagger again and again.
