30 Days of Passion and Revenge-Chapter 229: Building More Than Models
Lily immediately sat on the bed, clutching a pillow as she scooted backward. She eyed Ethan warily. "Is this another costume?!"
He still hasn’t given up on his uniform obsession?!
"Lily, can you clean up your thoughts for once?" Ethan scoffed, sitting down on the edge of the bed. The soft mattress sank under his weight.
Lily was speechless. Wasn’t that her line?
She had never met anyone more shameless than him, and now he was telling her to clean up her thoughts? Was her hearing messed up, or was his brain malfunctioning?
"Watch closely and stop assuming the worst of people," Ethan said as he grabbed the gift box and began untying the ribbon with his long, elegant fingers.
That’s not your line, either!
Lily tightened her grip on the pillow, preparing to bolt the moment the box revealed some kind of costume.
"Clink—"
Ethan tipped the box over, spilling its contents onto the bed. Out came various items—plastic and metal pieces, cardboard, glass components, and even tools like pliers and scissors—all neatly packed in small bags.
Lily froze in shock.
"What... is this?" she asked hesitantly, staring at the scattered items. What kind of random junk is this? Was this what filled such a large gift box?
"A model kit," Ethan replied matter-of-factly, reclining on the bed in his bathrobe with one hand propping up his face. His deep gaze lingered on her.
"A model kit?!" Lily’s eyes widened in disbelief as she struggled to process his words. "The ’game’ you were talking about... is building a model?"
Ethan’s lips curved into the faintest smile as he watched her bewildered expression.
"If you’re still interested in wax play or whips, I’m game," Ethan teased, his tone casual but his eyes dark with a hint of desire.
He hadn’t forgotten how she knelt on him earlier, her soft hands lightly tracing his chest. That moment had been seared into his memory, though he had forced himself to hold back.
Lily grabbed the pillow and threw it at him, half-laughing and half-crying. "Couldn’t you just say you wanted to build a model?!"
Why had he gone out of his way to talk about "playing a game" and lead her in circles?
Ethan caught the pillow effortlessly. "Lily, you’re the one with dirty thoughts who misunderstood."
Lily was momentarily rendered speechless. She glared at him, both embarrassed and frustrated. He sat there with a smug, self-righteous expression, making her want to scream.
Why would he bring up "playing a game" in such a suggestive atmosphere? Of course, her thoughts had gone astray!
"Go take a shower. We’ll build it when you’re done," Ethan said, dismissing her.
"Fine," Lily muttered.
After showering and wearing her robe, Lily returned to the bed to join Ethan in building the model.
She picked up one of the small bags of parts and looked at the gift box. This wasn’t the model you’d find in a regular store. It was far more intricate—she couldn’t even tell what the finished product was supposed to be. There wasn’t even an instruction manual.
Lily lay on the bed, searching through the contents for a while before asking in confusion, "Ethan, where’s the manual?"
"What manual?" Ethan asked, already half-leaning against the bed as he began assembling pieces.
"The instructions—like how to assemble it, the steps and all that," Lily explained, glancing helplessly at the pile of parts. She had no idea where to start without guidance.
Ethan raised his eyes and looked at her like she was an idiot. "Are you building a kindergarten puzzle or folding preschool origami? You need a manual?"
If you need a manual, why even bother assembling it yourself? You should buy it pre-made.
"Kindergarteners can’t even read manuals!" Lily retorted, feeling both annoyed and embarrassed. Was he implying she was less competent than a kindergartener?
The sheer number of pieces was overwhelming. How could he expect her to assemble it without instructions? Was she supposed to rely on trial and error? That would take forever!
Hearing her frustration, Ethan let out a low chuckle. His lips curved into a devilish smile as he looked at her with amused indulgence. "Lily, in my eyes, you’re smarter than a kindergartener."
What kind of backhanded compliment is that?
Lily wanted to throw a bag of metal parts at his grinning face.
"Pass me the screwdriver," Ethan said, extending his hand toward her.
Lily rummaged through the mess of items on the bed and found a brand-new screwdriver she handed him. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Ethan expertly worked the screwdriver, and his movements were precise and practiced. His expression was focused, his demeanor serious. He was wholly immersed in the task, and his concentration only made his perfect face even more captivating.
Lily found herself staring at him, entranced.
She thought of her friend Sophia Bennett, who used to scream excitedly every time she saw Ethan, like a crazed fan meeting her idol.
Lily had always paid more attention to Ethan’s temper than his face. But setting aside his personality, she had to admit—having someone with his looks love her so profoundly... maybe her friend was right. She had hit the jackpot.
"Small knife," Ethan said, holding his hand again without looking up. His deep, husky voice was magnetic. "Lily, if you keep staring at me like that, I might want to play a different game."
Like wax play... or something 18+...
Lily handed him the knife, glaring at him in frustration. "How do you even know I’m looking at you? You’re not focused at all!"
He must have been distracted, randomly assembling pieces here and there.
Deciding not to look at him anymore, Lily lay on the bed and tried to assemble something herself. But as she sifted through the parts, it was like staring at a complicated formula—she didn’t even know where to begin.
Unable to figure it out, she resigned herself to being Ethan’s assistant, handing him tools whenever needed.
Gradually, Lily became more interested as she watched him piece together a small part of the model. It wasn’t like the simple kits she had played with as a child, where the pieces were pre-cut, and all you had to do was fold and slot them together.
What Ethan was working on was far more complex. Lily couldn’t help but ask, "What is this supposed to be when it’s finished? A car? A ship? A house?"
"Tweezers," Ethan said, extending his hand again without answering her question.
"..." Would it kill you to answer?!
Lily slapped the tweezers into his palm harder than necessary. Ethan glanced up at her and smirked. "Lily, are you upset that I’m ignoring you?"
"No. I’m ignoring you," Lily replied with a forced smile before turning over and lying at the foot of the bed, putting some distance between them.
Is this piece of glass for a miniature chandelier?
Does that mean it’s a house?
Determined not to be outdone, Lily opened a bag of cardboard parts and tried to assemble something herself, not wanting Ethan to think she was incapable.
Suddenly, she felt a warm hand on her foot.
She froze.
The hand slid slowly upward, tracing her leg with a tingling, electric touch that sent shivers through her body. It moved higher, brushing against her softer, more sensitive areas.
Lily bit her lip, determined not to make a sound, but Ethan’s increasingly labored breathing was impossible to ignore.
Her robe’s belt loosened as his hand slipped beneath the fabric, his fingers teasing her bare skin.
Lily shuddered, unable to suppress the tremors coursing through her. She finally flipped over on the bed to escape his touch. "Ethan, what are you doing?"
She glanced at him, and her face immediately burned.
Ethan was sitting there with his robe half-open, revealing his toned chest. His lips were slightly parted, and his eyes were dark with unrestrained desire as they roamed over her body.
Flustered, Lily quickly returned her robe and glared at him. "I thought you said your mind was ’clean’!"
How did building a model turn into this?!
Ethan lunged toward her, pinning her to the bed. He tilted her chin up with a finger and said, "I don’t like being ignored by women."
"Then you’d better get used to it," Lily shot back with a sarcastic smile. She tried to turn away, but her movements scattered the model parts across the bed.
"Why are we even building this on the bed?!" Lily grumbled, searching for the fallen pieces. "The bed’s so soft—it’s impossible to keep track of everything!"
"Because... you’re not wearing a bra, and I can enjoy the view more clearly," Ethan murmured, his lips brushing against her ear as his heated gaze dropped to her chest.
"You pervert!"
Lily scolded him, following his gaze down to her own body. She was lying on her stomach, her upper body slightly lifted. Her loose robe had slipped, revealing the soft curves of her chest.
Her face turned crimson as she glared at him. "And you claim you don’t have a dirty mind!"
Ethan leaned closer, a wicked smile playing on his lips. "You’re the one not wearing a bra. How is that my fault? Strictly speaking, you’re seducing me... Lily, you’re very naughty."
He knew she never wore a bra to bed!
Lily grabbed a handful of cardboard parts and threw them at him. The pieces scattered over his dark robe like snowflakes.
"I’m done talking to you!"
Lily knew she could never out-argue him when it came to matters like this. His shamelessness was on another level.
She turned her back on him, but before she could escape, Ethan grabbed her chin and kissed her deeply.
"Mm..."
They lay side by side on the bed, Ethan’s hand cradling her chin as he devoured her lips with an insatiable hunger. His other arm wrapped around her, pulling her body tightly against his.
Desire coursed through Ethan like a wildfire.
"Lily Anderson."
"Uh?"
"Do you want this?" he asked, his voice low and magnetic.
"No," Lily replied firmly, though her head spun from his kiss.
"I didn’t even say what I meant, and you’re already answering?" Ethan said, his tone laced with mock dissatisfaction.
"You," Lily muttered.
Ethan laughed, his eyes sparkling with a dangerous allure. He cupped the back of her head and pulled her closer. "Smart girl," he murmured before claiming her lips again.
His kisses trailed from her lips to her neck, leaving a fiery path. His deep, hypnotic voice whispered against her skin, "Do you want me, Lily?"
"Mm..."
Lily couldn’t respond. She could only let out a soft moan as her hands instinctively clung to his muscular body. She closed her eyes, surrendering to the heat of his touch.
Ethan’s hand moved beneath her robe, caressing her skin with practiced ease. As his lips trailed lower, he whispered, "Lily, be mine."
