30 Days of Passion and Revenge-Chapter 250: Brotherly Rivalry
Could she possibly think that he couldn’t protect her and their child? What was going on in this woman’s head?
"Of course not," Lily quickly reassured him, wrapping her arms around his arm and forcing a smile. How could she not trust him?
But she couldn’t help voicing her concerns. "But this is going to be difficult, isn’t it?"
Ethan’s father was dozens of times more ruthless than Ethan himself... With his father now involved, how would Ethan get through this?
His father wanted Ethan to return to Europe...
His father wanted her to leave Ethan... She hadn’t mentioned this to Ethan yet. Once he found out, he would probably become even more furious...
"I’ll handle it. Let’s go eat," Ethan said, pulling her up.
"I’m hungry too!" The study door slammed open, and Tommy Blackwood leaned lazily against the doorframe, grinning at them.
"Eat in your room," Ethan said coldly, holding Lily’s hand tightly as they walked away.
Tommy Blackwood followed closely behind, complaining loudly, "Am I not good enough for your dining table?! Why should I eat in my room? I’m not some outcast! Why can’t I eat at the table?!"
His loud complaints echoed into the dining room.
Even at the dining table, Tommy Blackwood continued to rant. Ethan’s brow furrowed, and he slammed Tommy’s hand onto the table. "Say one more word, and you’ll see what happens!"
He was as annoying as a fly.
"Ouch..." Tommy winced in pain, his face contorted. "I’m still your second brother. You can’t treat me like this... rabbit, rabbit, your lover is bullying me... Ah—"
"Who said you could call her rabbit?!" Ethan growled. "Repeat it, and I’ll break your hand!"
"Third brother, you’re forcing me to learn martial arts... Let go, let go." Tommy cried out in pain, his hand twisted on the table, sweat pouring down his face.
Ethan didn’t go too far and let go of his hand.
Lily sat quietly, watching Tommy shake his sore hand. He looked at her with a pitiful expression, full of grievance. "Rabbit, look how cruel your lover is. No wonder you cry like a rabbit. He must beat you often, right?"
Lily didn’t respond. Ethan slammed his hand on the table, his eyes dark as he glared at his brother. "One more word!"
Tommy immediately shrugged, his eyes flicking playfully toward Lily, "Rabbit! I’m hungry!"
Lily suddenly realized the brothers did have some similarities. At least their expressions when saying "I’m hungry" were equally shameless and suggestive. It felt like they were hinting at something else, even when discussing eating.
Though Ethan was domineering and fierce, Tommy was far too effeminate.
Seeing the look in Tommy’s eyes, Ethan was thoroughly annoyed. He grabbed his brother’s collar and pulled him closer. "Wipe that look off your face!"
Even saying he was hungry, his eyes were full of lust...
Had he been deprived of women for too long?! How dare he look at Lily like that in his own home.
"What look?!" Tommy turned to Lily, his eyes slightly raised and full of charm, and asked with a smile, "Rabbit, do I look lustful to you?"
If that wasn’t lustful, then what was?!
"I’ll go get the dishes," Lily said, not wanting to get involved in their brotherly squabble. She stood up and went to the kitchen to help bring out the food.
The two brothers still fiercely argued whether Tommy’s expression was lustful when all the dishes were on the table.
"If you keep looking at her like that, I’ll gouge your eyes out!"
"I always look like this! How is this lustful?!"
Any woman who could find Tommy serious... must be on another level.
"Tommy Blackwood! If you say one more word, get out of my house!" Ethan roared, his deep eyes flashing with murderous intent. His fists clenched, veins bulging, ready to strike at any moment.
"I’m your second brother! Father cares deeply about hierarchy and respect. If he hears you talking to me like this, you’ll get beaten again!" Tommy retorted.
"Then go report me!" Ethan shot back, pointing toward the hallway. "There’s a phone right outside."
"..." Ethan’s sharp retort left Tommy speechless.
Regarding verbal sparring, no one of the three brothers could match Ethan...
Tommy decided to save face and dropped the topic, sitting down and staring at the table full of food with excitement. "The best part about returning to Asia is eating authentic Asian food. Nanny, you know me!"
Tommy was effeminate and flirtatious, his eyes always filled with mischief. He had the air of a lowly playboy yet also carried an innate nobility—a strange combination...
He picked up his chopsticks with one hand and tugged at his white shirt with the other, exposing more of his chest, ready to dig in.
Lily glanced at him. His shirt collar and front were covered in lipstick marks—pink, rose, nude...
How many women had he flirted with while wearing this shirt?
"Button up your shirt!" Ethan barked, noticing Lily’s glance. His tone was cold and slightly awkward.
"Why?!" Tommy looked genuinely confused.
"In my house, if you expose anything other than your face, I’ll chop it off!" Ethan warned mercilessly...
Tommy choked on a piece of meat, struggling to swallow it before exclaiming in disbelief, "Why? Is your house stuck in ancient times?!"
Should he go put on a robe and wrap himself up?!
What was going on...
"Nanny! Button his shirt!" Ethan ordered coldly.
"Yes, Mr. Blackwood," Nanny, standing nearby, immediately stepped forward and began buttoning Tommy’s shirt.
"Thanks, Nanny. How about a kiss? I always say any woman who dresses me deserves a kiss!" Tommy said with a roguish grin.
Nanny immediately stepped back, her face turning red. "Second, Young Master, don’t tease me."
Lily was speechless.
Was Ethan’s second brother here to act like a pervert?
"Tommy—Blackwood!"
Ethan’s anger was reaching its boiling point.
"Okay, okay... I’ll eat. I’ll eat quietly right now," Tommy said, raising his hands in surrender. He then picked up his chopsticks and started eating, though with some difficulty.
But he still ate with gusto, clearly enjoying the Asian cuisine.
"Let’s eat," Lily said, pulling Ethan’s hand to make him sit. She handed him his chopsticks and whispered, "How’s your leg?"
"Fine."
"Get an IV this afternoon. Don’t run around anymore," Lily added.
"Did I run around?"
"You ran off this morning." And it was all for her... She didn’t want him getting hurt for her sake. She wanted him to be well so he could protect her.
"Fine, I’ll get the IV," Ethan said, ruffling her hair. His previously furious voice softened, and his eyes filled with deep affection.
"I should’ve kept Sandy here. Do you two even remember I’m alive? All this flirting!" Tommy complained, feeling neglected.
Sandy? The sexy woman he’d brought earlier?
"Tommy Blackwood, I’m warning you! Don’t bring women into my house!" Ethan said coldly.
"Why?! Are you trying to turn me into a monk?!" This point particularly agitated Tommy. "You two are all lovey-dovey; why should I be alone?!"
What was this? Asking him to be celibate was worse than asking him to die! Could he even give up women?!
Lily silently ate her food. These two brothers could turn a simple meal into a battlefield...
"Then move out!" Ethan had no intention of playing host, and he did not want Tommy to stay in his house.
"Father sent me to bring you back. If I fail, I’m done. I’m giving you time to think things over, and you’re treating your second brother like this! Do you have no conscience?!" Tommy burst out, standing up from the table.
Ethan coldly glanced at him, his lips parting slightly. "So?"
So?
"So you should be grateful to me, not banning me from this and that!" Tommy pointed at his chest, then turned to Lily. "Rabbit, you tell me, who’s right and wrong?!"
"Don’t call her rabbit!" Ethan snapped. His woman wasn’t someone for Tommy to nickname!
Lily silently watched the two of them. The dining table had become a war zone, and she felt the brothers were about to start fighting again...
"What else should I call her?! She won’t tell me her name!" Tommy shot back without hesitation. "Sister-in-law?! Everyone knows you two can’t get married!"
Everyone knows you two can’t get married!
Everyone knows you two can’t get married!
Everyone knows you two can’t get married!
...
Tommy’s words were sharp and unrelenting, echoing in Lily’s ears...
The dining room fell silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Lily’s eyes dimmed, her hand holding the chopsticks paused, and she lost all appetite.
"Have you said enough?!" Ethan stood up and roared, grabbing Tommy by the shoulder and raising his fist. "You looking for a beating?!"
"Why can’t I say it?!" Tommy shot back. "What’s the point of you two deceiving yourselves?! Father will never let you be together, no matter how happy you are now. You can’t get married. You can’t be together forever!"
What was the point of clinging to this false, fleeting happiness?!
In the end, you’ll still have to separate!
"Father won’t let us be together?!" Ethan was stunned, his dark eyes clouding with deep emotion.
Since when had the old man said that?! He never cared about how many women they had...
Lily was about to speak when Tommy said, "You didn’t know? Rabbit didn’t tell you? Father won’t allow her to stay by your side. He wants her to leave."
Ethan immediately turned to Lily, his voice icy. "Is this true?"
Lily hesitated, seeing the fury on his face, then nodded heavily.
"Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!" Ethan’s hand dropped from Tommy’s shoulder, his voice filled with rage.
No one could defy the old man’s words. If he had said it, then unless Lily left him, she would only have one path—death...
