Chapter 763: Chapter 763: You Fainted Just in Time

“Ha ha…”

Dan Yi laughed heartily, slapping his knee with his hand, “What was I just saying? My nephew, he’s the one who truly understands me. You have my permission to do as you wish in East Asia. I’ll keep an eye on the Consortium for you.

Your uncle is looking forward to hearing good news from you.”

“Your nephew understands.”

Dan Hanjie stared at Dan Yi’s triumphant smile, a flicker of melancholy flashed in his eyes, fleeting and quick.

“Stay for dinner tonight. Allow me to welcome you back.”

No sooner had Dan Yi’s words fallen than Yao hurriedly walked in from outside.

He approached Dan Hanjie, whispered a few words in his ear.

Dan Hanjie’s face changed momentarily, but quickly regained his composure and rose gracefully from the chair. “I have to attend to something urgently, I’m afraid I won’t be able to join uncle for dinner.”

“Do what you have to, remember to reach out if you need help from your uncle.”

“Your nephew can handle it,” Dan Hanjie nodded slightly and turned to leave.

As soon as he disappeared from sight, Dan Yi spoke out, “Find out what happened.”

“Yes, master.”

Soon, the assistant returned to his side, “It’s about Qin Youxuan. Apparently, she fainted in the villa.”

“Again that woman,” Dan Yi’s eyes darkened, “Never mind. Don’t touch her for the time being as he dotes on that woman. Report any news immediately.”

“Yes.”

At the private villa.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Dan Hanjie got out and strode towards the villa.

Seeing Qin Youxuan waiting for him in the yard, he paused in his steps and frowned slightly.

“You’re back.” Qin Youxuan got up from the grass, dusted off her butt, and rushed toward him with Da Bai.

“What happened? The butler said you fainted,” Dan Hanjie hugged her as she leaped into his arms and carried her into the living room.

He placed her down on the couch.

Da Bai wagged its tail relentlessly, yet no one paid it any attention. It let out a low whine and ran off.

“Faint? The butler was overreacting. I was showering and didn’t hear anyone knock, so he thought something happened to me and notified you. So embarrassing,” Qin Youxuan giggled in response.

She tried to sit up from the sofa, but Dan Hanjie stopped her by placing a hand on her shoulder.

His deep, dark eyes stared intensely at her face which was slightly reddish around the eyes, but otherwise normal.

“Did you find something, great detective?” Qin Youxuan winked playfully, reaching up to touch her own face.

“Did you have a doctor check you over?” Dan Hanjie questioned, not buying her explanation, and turned to look at the butler.

“I’ve said already, there’s nothing wrong with me. Why bother with a doctor? Aren’t you a little too anxious?” Qin Youxuan got up from the sofa and wrapped her arms around his waist.

“I was worried that you won’t be able to come back for dinner and it would be me who would have to see a doctor, to prescribe something for heartache.”

“Your feigned fainting was indeed opportune.” Dan Hanjie’s eyes flashed a hint of amusement as he turned and held her.

“…”

Qin Youxuan paused, then laughed, “In that case, I’ll use this trick every time you step out of the house.”

“Not to be repeated,” Dan Hanjie’s voice took on a stern tone, holding her head in place as he repeated his words.

His expression slightly changed.

Before Qin Youxuan could ask why, Yao spoke from the sidelines, “Young Mistress, Mr. Jie drove recklessly, passing through numerous red lights and nearly had an accident because he thought something really happened to you…”
