Chapter 216: Yin Yang’s Background

After resting at home for a day, Xu Mumu was soon asked out by Yin Yang to go watch a movie.

Xu Mumu still remembered the plan, so after changing clothes, she set off with Yin Yang.

"Did you have breakfast? I brought some snacks." Yin Yang took a small box out of his bag, containing some beautifully crafted little cookies.

"I already did, but these cookies are quite delicious." Xu Mumu nodded, taking a piece from the box and popping it into her mouth.

"They are indeed quite good, glad you like them." Yin Yang said gently.

"Aren’t you eating?" Xu Mumu grabbed another piece, watching Yin Yang as she asked.

"I’ve already eaten, these are especially for you." Yin Yang chuckled softly, feeling happy just watching Xu Mumu eat, the girl he liked even looked good while eating.

"Are you this considerate to everyone?" Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang.

"Besides my grandfather, you’re probably the first to enjoy such treatment." Yin Yang smiled as well.

"Alright, let’s go." Xu Mumu nodded, having never heard any gossip about Yin Yang; aside from his face attracting admirers, everything else seemed good.

Reaching the town, they headed to the cinema, where Xue Yan was still working. Having been here a few times, Xu Mumu naturally remembered her.

"Mumu, you’re here again! What movie do you want to watch today? There’s a new good one out recently." Xue Yan chatted excitedly with Xu Mumu, occasionally glancing at Yin Yang. Although this was Yin Yang’s second visit, he left a particularly strong impression—his looks made that unavoidable.

Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang to see what movie he wanted to watch. She didn’t really mind; she’d actually seen some of these in her past life.

"You choose." Yin Yang said directly. They came to watch a movie together, so naturally, it should be one Xu Mumu liked.

"I’m fine with anything. Is there one you want to see?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile.

"Let’s go with this one." Yin Yang pointed at one, which appeared to be a romance film.

After purchasing some snacks from Xue Yan, the two headed to the screening room.

Snacking on melon seeds while watching the movie, Xu Mumu felt utterly relaxed.

"Here’s more." Yin Yang offered the seeds he had shelled already.

"Thanks." Xu Mumu raised an eyebrow and ate them without hesitation.

The movie paced well and was quite lighthearted, the type Xu Mumu enjoyed.

Yin Yang checked his watch; it was almost noon.

"Mumu, let’s have lunch at the state-owned restaurant." Yin Yang suggested, looking at Xu Mumu.

"Sure, I’ll treat you." Xu Mumu nodded.

"Why are you always so polite with me." Yin Yang sighed a bit. Everytime he tried to give Xu Mumu something, she would reciprocate, even treating him to meals. He had paid for the movie, and now she wanted to take him to lunch.

"I’m a guy, it’s not common for girls to treat guys to meals." Yin Yang laughed.

"Such a chauvinist notion." Xu Mumu chuckled as well.

"Maybe just a bit." Yin Yang admitted. Yet, it depended on the person; with others, he usually ended up benefiting.

"I eat quite a lot each time, you might not afford to keep up." Xu Mumu glanced at Yin Yang, and headed toward the restaurant.

"No worries, I’m quite well-off; you won’t run out of food even if you eat your whole life." Yin Yang smiled brightly, truly not short of money, having enough for several lifetimes. When things started getting strange, his grandfather moved the family business overseas, leaving only a small visible portion within the country. So when trouble hit the Yin Family, it didn’t affect them much.

He respected his grandfather immensely, though it was unfortunate that he fathered his useless dad and had some illegitimate children. When the family issues arose, his grandfather had already passed, and he ended up thrusting his dad out. Now, his dad’s situation was over, leaving only him among the Yin Family; the other children occasionally caused small trouble, but nothing significant.

Being the master of his own household felt great, though most of the Yin family’s assets being overseas meant constant maintenance hassle.

Yin Yang harbored resentment towards his father; having lost his mother early, directly driven to death by his father’s negligence. Before his birth, his father had already sired illegitimate children, claiming his mother wasn’t able to conceive, and ended up adopting that child.

His mother, already pregnant with him, nearly miscarried, unbeknownst to her prior.

This incident led to his grandfather giving Yin Yang’s father a harsh lesson, reigning him in somewhat. Following Yin Yang’s birth, his grandfather directly skipped over his father, appointing him as the heir.

Currently, his only family was his grandfather. Originally, he planned to take him overseas once the policies relaxed a bit, but unexpectedly, a small incident occurred: Xu Mumu appeared in his life.

"Ha, you have quite the imagination." Xu Mumu laughed, eating for a lifetime—she hadn’t promised anything yet, though he indeed had a knack for latching onto opportunities.

"Mumu, what do you like to eat? I have food coupons for meat dishes, feel free to have as much as you want." Yin Yang exclaimed happily, understanding Xu Mumu had agreed.

"Let’s check today’s menu first." Xu Mumu answered cheerfully.

"I came by yesterday, asked them to save a braised fish for us; let’s have fish." Yin Yang beamed even wider.

"Fish too, huh?" Xu Mumu’s eyes sparkled. It had been long since she had fish, and Yin Yang’s mention made her miss it.

"Yes, I can always bring you to eat whenever you want." Yin Yang said sincerely.

"Then I’ll definitely come often, aiming to put you to ruin." Xu Mumu joked.

"No problem." Yin Yang laughed, thinking it’d be great if things went that way.

Arriving at the state-owned restaurant, Qin Liang was delighted to see Xu Mumu come for a meal.

"Mumu, perfect timing, there’s just an empty table here, come in." Qin Liang said with a welcoming smile, glancing at Yin Yang. He knew of him; Yin Yang visited to reserve the fish yesterday for Xu Mumu.

Observing their seemingly close relationship, Qin Liang’s eyes twinkled—was Mumu seeing someone?

"Mr. Qin, I made a reservation yesterday, could you ask Master Yang to help us out? Mumu, anything else you’d like?" Yin Yang asked gently.

"One pork stew with vermicelli and a tofu soup." Xu Mumu replied without reservation, also wanting to indulge a bit.

"Would you like to send some braised pork to your brother? I recall he likes it." Yin Yang inquired, looking at Xu Mumu.

"No need, my brother’s got money now; if he wants, he’ll come here himself." Xu Mumu said calmly. When her brother was short on money, she’d think of helping him out, but now with a much higher salary, she didn’t need to bother.
