A Cutie Spoiled by Her Seven Uncles-Chapter 746 - 695: The Great Phoenix
"Miss Xie! Please forgive my impertinence."
The National Master reached out to grab Xie Pan’Er’s left hand and immediately took her pulse.
Xie Pan’Er stood quietly, her brow furrowed slightly. It seems I can sense the Phoenix’s aura!
She couldn’t help but look up in all directions, but there was nothing in the sky.
"Miss Xie, your internal organs are injured, but thankfully, it’s not fatal," the National Master said. "I have an Elixir here. After taking it, you should recover in a few days with proper rest."
Xie Pan’Er took the Elixir and thanked him swiftly. "Thank you, National Master!"
After swallowing the Elixir, Xie Pan’Er gazed up at the sky again. Her actions caught the National Master’s attention, and displeasure flickered in his eyes.
So this Miss Xie disrespects me, he thought. Did she think herself noble after learning about her Phoenix Destiny and now considers no one of any importance? Such a shallow girl!
While the National Master was silently grumbling, he heard the Emperor’s voice.
"What can we do?" the Emperor lamented. "These people are citizens of the Great Han, yet now they are being manipulated by the Great Wizard of Nanjiang to oppose me. I cannot bear to kill them. However, if we do not stop them, they will undoubtedly become a grave threat to our Great Han!"
Having said this, the Emperor turned to the National Master and asked, "National Master, is there any way to restore these people’s Divine Consciousness?"
The National Master, standing on the rooftop, shook his head lightly. "I have not practiced Witchcraft, so I cannot easily restore their Divine Consciousness. If we wish to restore it, it will indeed take considerable effort!"
The National Master had encountered these people and used the Qi Observation Technique. He knew most of them would not die untimely deaths, which meant they could regain their Divine Consciousness. However, he could not help them recover it at this moment, implying the time was not yet right.
As soon as the National Master finished speaking, Princess Ata spoke up, "Your Majesty, National Master, I do have a method, though it may be rather troublesome."
"Oh! Princess Ata, what is your method?" The Emperor immediately looked at Princess Ata, eagerly inquiring about her plan.
"We must first capture Mr. Wu, or injure him so badly that he cannot continue his mischief for a while," Princess Ata explained. "Only then can we help these Puppets dispel their Witch Power. This way, whether they decide to re-cultivate or not, they will never again be the Puppets of the Great Wizard."
Upon hearing Princess Ata’s words, the National Master nodded. "That sounds like a decent solution. However, with so many people in Yunhang County, and so many Puppets, it’s going to be a monumental task!"
Princess Ata nodded. "Exactly!"
The Emperor declared, "No matter how much effort it takes, we must help them. These people are all citizens of our Great Han!"
"Your Majesty is correct!" the National Master agreed.
Princess Ata quickly added, "This is all because of the Great Wizard from my Nanjiang. I should also do my part."
"So, all the Witch Power that Ji Youyuan supposedly scattered from you back then was fake!" the Great Wizard, standing before the abandoned mansion, suddenly interjected, his voice carrying up to the rooftop. He had overheard their conversation and recalled his chosen perfect vessel whose Power had been completely depleted. "It was just a Blinding Technique you used to deceive me. You scattered your own Witch Power!"
Fury surged through him; murder filled both his eyes and his heart for Princess Ata.
"Ah Ta! You’ve disappointed me greatly. Isn’t leading Nanjiang to invade the Great Han a good thing? Don’t you want to be the future queen of the Central Plains, a princess in the Great Han? Why did you betray me? Why willingly degrade yourself to associate with these ants?"
Mr. Wu’s words flowed, each laced with allure yet mixed with fury.
"You shut up!" Princess Ata retorted. "I am not degrading myself; I disdain to associate with you! You, a Great Wizard who has even cultivated into a divine being, yet you indulge in mass murder and have fallen onto an evil path. Your actions go against the Celestial Dao! I believe the heavens are watching, and sooner or later, you will descend into the eighteen levels of hell!"
"What is this Celestial Dao?" the Great Wizard scoffed. "If my power is strong enough, I *am* the Celestial Dao!"
Having said this, the Great Wizard raised his right hand. A stream of black smoke gradually rose, suddenly coalescing in mid-air into the shape of a soaring dragon!
The dragon’s head rushed towards them. Within the blink of an eye, its claw lashed out straight in their direction!
The National Master immediately summoned his flying sword, which slashed forcefully at the dragon’s claw.
Unexpectedly, the dragon’s target was not them, but the abandoned house. The dragon’s might swept down, instantly causing the roof of the abandoned house to collapse!
Everyone stumbled and fell downwards.
The Emperor, quick-witted, grabbed Xie Pan’Er’s waist, and they landed steadily.
The moment they landed on solid ground, the Puppets surrounded them.
Above their heads, the Fog Dragon loomed ominously.
"Kill!" With the Great Wizard’s cry, the Puppets surged forward, shouting the same word.
The National Master continuously defended Li Yanyan, while the Emperor protected Xie Pan’Er, and Princess Ata fought on her own. However, they were outnumbered and soon found it difficult to maneuver.
"We can’t continue like this; we must find a way to retreat!" Princess Ata said, panting heavily, her strength showing signs of depletion. "We can’t kill these people. They are Puppets now, physically strong, so we are at a disadvantage. If we persist, we’ll exhaust our energy."
The National Master glanced at the surroundings, flicked his sleeve to push back several Puppets, and then, taking a moment to pinch his fingers in calculation, murmured, The chance to break through... is in the sky?
This result left the National Master somewhat uncertain. They were on the ground, surrounded by Puppets on all sides. I should be able to calculate the weakest point for a breakout, he thought. But why would the divination indicate the sky? Mr. Wu’s Fog Dragon is up there. If it were just me, escaping through the sky wouldn’t be a problem, given my Cultivation. But taking the Emperor and the others... that’s completely impossible!
As the National Master pondered this, he heard Xie Pan’Er loudly calling, "Phoenix! Phoenix!"
Phoenix?
Hearing the name "Phoenix," the National Master and the Emperor had yet to react.
The Great Wizard, however, was visibly unsettled. He muttered to himself, then suddenly looked up at the sky, his eyes scanning intently.
"To think I’d find it without even trying! What a stroke of luck!" Mr. Wu’s voice was filled with delight.
He suddenly flew eastward. Not far off, a brilliantly colored phoenix emerged, heading their way.
The Great Wizard slowly raised his hand, preparing to intercept it.
