66: Chapter 64 Earthwalking Zombies

66 -64 Earthwalking Zombies

After Su Yun and Lei Rui became “Black Iron Warriors”, their stamina increased significantly.

They could carry large bags while walking, appearing quite at ease.

Among the entire team, only Ding Shan couldn’t keep up after walking for a little while.

Ding Shan’s food was already carried by others, but she was too small.

Even if she walked with empty hands, she couldn’t last for long.

No one had a solution, so Su Yu distributed his food to Zhang Zhongmou, Zhou Birong, and Zhao Shichang to carry, then he hoisted Ding Shan onto his back once again.

“Thank you, big brother,” Ding Shan whispered from atop Su Yu’s back.

Su Yu shook his head, thinking that if she could bring herself to kill a goblin, she wouldn’t be in her current predicament.

As the day grew darker, they arrived at a slope.

A few boulders stood tall on the slope.

From a distance, they appeared like huge beasts lying there, exuding an eerie aura.

Looking at the darkening sky, Qin Jiagui said, “Let’s go up and take a look.

It’s almost dark, we’ll spend the night on the slope.”

Zhao Shichang agreed with a nod.

Everyone was a bit tired and slowly began to climb the slope, occasionally using small branches to steady themselves.

Ma Ziye forced a laugh, “It’s the fifth day, right?

Five days…

without even a chance to bathe.

This is not a life for humans.”

The strong smell of sweat and blood on their bodies kept people at bay.

Luckily, everyone smelled the same, so they got used to it.

Yet, the discomfort was indescribable.

When the group slowly climbed up the slope and looked ahead, they were all stunned.

In front of the slope was a pile of rocks, and right in the middle of it, a large cave was revealed.

The cave was dark and deep, like a monstrous beast with an open mouth, ready to swallow its prey.

Everyone felt a chill inside after just a glance. freewebnoveℓ.com

“There is a cave there…” Zhang Zhongmou started to speak, but Qin Jiagui hushed him, “Lower your voice.

Everyone, let’s back off and avoid this place.”

They had initially planned to spend the night there, but now they had found this sinister cave.

Regardless of whether there was a horrifying creature inside, Qin Jiagui didn’t want to take any risks and planned to sneak around it.

“Let’s go.” Su Yu agreed with Qin Jiagui’s decision.

The group quietly avoided the cave, making a wide circle around it.

Suddenly, Zhao Shichang and Qin Jiagui, who were leading, stopped in their tracks, expressions of bewilderment on their faces.

Everyone looked ahead and saw numerous strange rock piles.

In between these piles, the ground was riddled with holes that looked like honeycombs.

“Strange, these…” Zhang Zhongmou was about to go forward to investigate, when a soft rustling sound emanated from the holes.

“Be careful, could this be a goblin’s lair?” Qin Jiagui immediately thought of goblins living in such holes.

The numerous holes indicated a significant number of goblins, but since goblins were the lowest level of beasts, only slightly stronger than goblin beasts, Qin Jiagui was not overly worried.

As soon as Qin Jiagui finished speaking, a rustling noise erupted from the caves, and shadowy figures began to spring up from the holes, landing on the ground.

In the blink of an eye, Su Yu and the others were faced with over a dozen dark creatures.

These monsters were not the Goblins that Qin Jiagui imagined to live in underground nests, but a group of zombies that they had only seen in films and television before.

The bodies of these zombies were gray-black and seemed to be clad in iron shells.

Their limbs were not stiffly extended as imagined, but rather all hunched over with their hands hanging down, standing in a manner somewhat resembling primates.

The most noticeable aspect was that these zombies had no hands.

In their place were black iron hooks about a foot long.

These hooks emanated a dark glow and appeared extremely sharp.

One of the zombies leapt out from the underground cave, casually swung the iron hook attached to its left forearm, and smashed a nearby rock like it was tofu.

The power and sharpness of the iron hooks were evident from this.

The “Perception Eye” on Su Yu’s left hand automatically opened, and an information flashed through his mind.

Name: Earthwalking Zombies.

The lowest tier of the Zombie family, first-level elite beast soldiers.

They can easily dig out caves using their two iron hooks.

They are mortal enemies with the Goblins and often fight over plant roots.

The Goblins fear them greatly.

Their wooden shields and leather armors are mainly designed to defend against the iron hooks of the Earthwalking Zombies.

Though they do not eat humans, they do enjoy attacking humans, turning them into one of their own.

Having received this information, Su Yu’s heart tightened a notch.

He clearly remembered that the “Big Goblin Beast” belonged to the first-level beast soldiers, while these Earthwalking Zombies in front of him were actually first-level elite beast soldiers.

Judging from the description, they seemed to be even more formidable than the “Big Goblin Beast”, otherwise, they wouldn’t have gotten the tag “elite”.

As thoughts raced through his mind, a series of “sizzling” noises rang out from Su Yu’s left arm, as a layer of black scales emerged.

In the blink of an eye, his left arm transformed into a scaled appendage.

Five claws emerged outwards from his left palm, and he issued a low shout, “Step back.

Be careful, everyone, these Earthwalking Zombies are not easy to deal with!” He was the first to confront them.

In truth, before Su Yu could even warn them, Su Yun, Lei Rui, Yuan Niping and the others had all withdrawn.

The intense aura of death emanating from these dozen or so Earthwalking Zombies was so overwhelming that it made them instinctively retreat from the danger.

Qin Jiagui, Zhao Shichang, Ma Ziye, Zhang Zhongmou, the four First-Level Black Iron Warriors, all showed their abilities.

Qin Jiagui clenched his right hand into a fist, his skin turning black like iron, extending from his fist up his arm until it was half-transformed into an iron arm.

Zhao Shichang’s right hand was covered with an insect-like hard shell, and with another swing of his hand, a bone knife hashed out of the shell.

On Ma Ziye’s right foot, strands of black thread-like objects appeared, Zhang Zhongmou’s half-face turned to stone, and in both hands, he held a shovel, ready and waiting.

The dozen Earthwalking Zombies jumped out from the hole in the ground, spotted the group of humans standing before them, and without making a sound, they lifted their iron hooks and charged.

In an instant, they engaged in head-on confrontation.

Su Yu’s left hand stretched out to block one of the Earthwalking Zombies’ iron hooks.

The “Rending Claw” activated, the black scales rose, and with a rotation the force produced a terrifying spin.

The iron hook struck the surface and immediately pinged away.

Su Yu took a step forward, and the Rending Claw forcibly slammed into the Zombie’s chest.

The power of the “Rending Claw” was formidable.

As it struck the Zombie’s chest, it ripped apart flesh and bone.

The Earthwalking Zombie was a “first-level elite beast soldier”, proving to be much stronger than Goblins and smaller Goblin Beasts.

In this critical moment, it swiftly defended with both of its hooks on the “Rending Claw”, and using that terrifying spinning power, it managed to throw itself backward, thus avoiding Su Yu’s “Rending Claw” ripping its chest apart.

The hardness of the Earthwalking Zombie’s double iron hooks was more than the “Rending Claw” could destroy.
