Chapter 28: Chapter 27: Special Invitation From The Guilds

"There she is, oh, I've been looking for you~" The woman spoke, her voice sweet and harmonious, dripping with nectar and a mysterious allure that made Zoey find her words captivating.

The woman started to approach Zoey, walking with long, purposeful strides as her hips swayed from side to side, the man following closely behind her.

"Who are you-" Zoey got interrupted as she suddenly stopped what she was going to say as her eyes roamed on the coat of the woman, that had a brilliant symbol of a gigantic, mythical creature that resembled a bird with a flaming, yet radiant body, exerting an air of power and brilliance.

'She...she's from the Raging Phoenix Guild!' Zoey thought as her teeth clenched slightly, a tinge of nervousness crawling up her spine. The Raging Phoenix Guild was nothing to scoff, at, as they were among the top guilds in Zolorius City, her birthplace.

Their guild mostly consisted of Mages and geniuses that were brilliant in the arts of Alchemy. They only hunted down geniuses and offered them an abundance of resources that would help them advance in their respective fields, while also offering a crap ton of money on top of all that.

Even though these offers were amazing, any Hunter would jump up and down in joy at the prospect of being able to join the Raging Phoenix Guild, there was one thing that also made many Hunters reconsider, and that was their brutal training.

The Raging Phoenix Guild were always obsessed with progress and crafting master pieces out of Hunters, and they would go to through any lengths to make that happen.

"Why are you here?" Zoey asked, feigning ignorance. She knew damn well why they were here: they were here for her! The news of her awakening had spread like wildfire as her A+Talent reached the ears of many.

"I've come here to recruit you of course," The woman said with a small smile, her face beaming as it shone with a beautiful radiance that made it difficult for Zoey to think properly.

'What's happening!? Why does she look so beautiful to me? She's not that good looking!' Zoey thought as she shook her head, something was happening that messed with her thoughts the more she stared into the green eyes of the woman that seemed to shine slightly.

'Oh? Impressive, she's capable of resisting my [Charm] Skill. Fufu~Interesting, that definitely means that her Intelligence stat is quite high, she's already a perfect candidate.' The woman thought, deciding to crank up the Skill's effects.

"Word of your Awakening has reached the eyes of the Raging Phoenix Guild, and we believe that you'd be the perfect candidate to join our Elite Rankings." The woman said as she winked seductively, causing Zoey's eyes to widen as they changed to a pink hue, her jaw dropping slightly and her eyes widened.

'Fuck...what is happening to me.....' Zoey barely managed to conjure the thought as she felt her mind entering a hazy mist.

'No! Damn it, resist! She's using some manipulative skill of some sort!' Zoey realized as her eyes snapped wider and her eyes returned to a fierce, crimson colour that burned with determination and sheer rage.

"Stop that," Zoey said seriously as her fists clenched and a dangerous aura started fuming out of her body, an amused chuckle leaving the woman's lips as she found her mental resilience even more brilliant.

"I was merely testing you dear, you have a strong mind. Most people would fall head over heals for my charm, but you managed to resist it, which further proves my vision of inviting you to join our guild."

Zoey frowned displeased, first she tried to hypnotize her or something, and she's still trying to offer Zoey to join her guild? Not happening. Just as Zoey was about to turn them down, the sounds of resounding vehicles grew louder as they made their way to her apartment.

'What the...' Zoey thought as she turned around, seeing the cars rushing towards them with full speed, various symbols on their doors that symbolized that they belonged to guilds.

The cars quickly arrived and parked themselves around Zoey as out of them, several guild representatives jumped out and started approaching Zoey, the air filled with competition as if they were determined on bringing Zoey to their guilds as the ultimate prize.

"Tch, great. The Raging Phoenix Guild is already here, just my luck," One of them said as they clicked their tongue, a symbol of a roaring blue lion on their chest.

"Argh! Just what are you bunch of losers doing here?" The woman asked, her tone infuriated by the presence of these chumps thay dare try to steal their treasure...or, yet to be claimed, treasure.

"We've come to recruit a future Ascending Ranking Hunter into our midst," Another said, a man with golden hair with a symbol of a sword and shield on their chest.

'Great...' Zoey thought as she sighed sharply, observing the many guild representatives that surrounded her like a pack of lions, about to pounce on their prey.

"Zoey Monroe," The man with the golden hair started as he approached her, "My name is Leo Vanguard, and I'm the representative of the Sword Order Guild. We've heard of the massive potential that-" He was cut off mid sentence as another representative chimed in.

"Excuse me, but you'd be wasting your precious time by accepting their guild. Our Spirit Lion Guild offers amazing benefits that can take you to the level! We also offer a grand amount of 500 Million Dollars upon joining, as well as a free Skill Book of your choice, limited to C-Rank."

'Hahaha! She's definetly going to accept, just look at the ridiculous amount of money she'd receive, and a skill book of her choice, nobody can refuse an offer like this.'

However, Zoey's eyes remained uninterested as she let out a tired yawn, exhaustion creeping into her soul.

'The skill book sounds a bit nice, but it's still not good enough to get me hooked.' Zoey thought with a small sigh.

"Zoey Monroe!" Another representative chimed in, with a large serpent symbol on their chest, "The Venomous Python Guild offers you 3 Billion Dollars upon joining, as well as a free B-Rank Skill Book."

"Hmph!" The woman behind Zoey scoffed, exhaling a puff of smoke as a grin spread on her face "The Raging Phoenix Guild offers you 10 Billion Dollars, as well as access to top-tier Training Facilities to maximize your combat abilities to greater heights in battle.

You'll be permitted to select 3 C-Rank Skill Books of your choice, as well as a B-Rank Item of your choice. Don't waste your time with these pathetic guilds of Zolorius."

"Damn it..." A representative cursed under their breath in frustration.

"They've already won...10 Billion is nothing to Raging Phoenix Guild as they are very rich and have great influence. She's lucky to have such a backing." Another said, also expressing her frustration.

"I'll politely be declining all of your offers." Zoey's words left her mouth in a calm tone, causing shock to spread around the representatives of guilds, especially the one of the Raging Phoenix Guild.

"What!?" She gasped in disbelief, "Why? What's stopping you from joining our guild, this is a massive opportunity and you should be willing to take it, not many Hunters have a chance to enter our guild." The woman said, urging Zoey to join them.

"Yes, I understand what all you are offering. However, if you want me to join your guild, there are 3 conditions you must accept, otherwise forget approaching me next time." Zoey said in a serious tone, holding up 3 fingers. The air thick with tension as they were waiting for what she was going to say.
