Chapter 669: Chapter 669: Am I Qualified?

Not long after, a man who appeared to be in his fifties or sixties walked over. His hair was graying, but his back was straight. His face didn’t look old and still had a touch of handsomeness, but his eyes lacked vitality.

He got into Lin Jiamu’s car and directly asked, "How did you know I was here?"

"Mu Yan feels like someone is following her, and I guessed it might be you," Lin Jiamu said, frowning.

"Did she notice?" the man slightly frowned.

"Brother, what exactly do you want to do? Do you know that you could scare her?" Lin Jiamu said with a serious face.

"I just wanted to see her," the man lowered his head, his expression dark.

Lin Jiamu looked at him, "She’s doing well now, and your appearance will only disrupt her peaceful life, bringing up those sad memories."

"It’s my fault for her," he said.

Lin Jiamu closed his eyes, "Enough, brother. What happened back then wasn’t your fault. You’ve paid the price too. Let’s all just forget about it, okay?"

"I can’t forget," the man turned his head to look out the car window, an expression of longing appearing in his eyes, "I ruined things for them."

Lin Jiamu turned his face to the side, staring into the distance as his eyes became slightly red, lost in thought.

"Thank you for taking care of her all these years," the man said, looking at Lin Jiamu. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Lin Jiamu tilted his head back, holding back tears, and said, "No need to thank me. I owe her that much too."

"Do you like her?" the man suddenly asked.

"She’s married," Lin Jiamu replied.

The man’s expression shifted slightly, "Why haven’t you..."

Lin Jiamu suddenly turned to look at him, a mocking look on his face, "Am I even qualified?"

Seeing Lin Jiamu’s restrained demeanor, the man was silent for a moment before finally saying, "I’m sorry."

"The past is the past. I was just too young then," Lin Jiamu sighed lightly, "Brother, where do you want to go? I’ll take you."

"Want to have a drink with me?" the man asked softly.

"Okay," Lin Jiamu nodded. He also felt like having a few drinks now.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Mu Yan immediately took a shower.

When she came out, Jiang Jingheng pushed a dining cart in.

She walked over and started gnawing on a roast goose leg.

"I’m starving," she said.

"There’s plenty, take your time," Jiang Jingheng said, placing the dishes on the table.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

Mu Yan thought of two people she didn’t want to see staying next door, and she instantly lost her appetite.

She put the roast goose leg back on the plate and looked at Jiang Jingheng.

"Go inside," Jiang Jingheng said to her.

She was wearing pajamas and not dressed to meet anyone.

Without saying a word, Mu Yan took clothes from the wardrobe and went straight to the bathroom.

Jiang Jingheng glanced at her, walked over to open the door, and looked at the uncle and nephew standing at the entrance, asking, "What do you want?"

Zhuang Shaoyang said in a deep voice, "Has Nuannuan come back?"

"Just a moment; she’s changing clothes," Jiang Jingheng replied indifferently.

Zhuang Shaoyang originally thought he would be prevented from seeing his daughter. Unexpectedly, Jiang Jingheng was so accommodating that his prepared speeches were useless, leaving him somewhat uncomfortable.

Nonetheless, it didn’t stop him from disliking Jiang Jingheng.

A minute later, Mu Yan’s voice came from inside, "Let them in."

Upon hearing this, Zhuang Shaoyang was delighted and looked at Jiang Jingheng, putting on a composed face.

Jiang Jingheng turned a blind eye and stepped aside.

Zhuang Shaoyang walked in and saw Mu Yan sitting at the dining table, eating.

"What do you want?" she said, without looking up from her food as if she couldn’t be bothered to glance at him.

Even though her behavior was rude, Zhuang Shaoyang didn’t dare to criticize her.

He sincerely said, "Nuannuan, come home with Dad."
