Chapter 758: Chapter 758 Jealous!

Mu Yan saw his confused look and explained, "It’s that show ’Free Life’ I told you about last time. I’m going to be a temporary guest for two days."

"What does this have to do with you cooking?" Jiang Jingheng frowned and said.

Suddenly, he found his appetite dwindling.

"I noticed previous episodes all had cooking segments," Mu Yan explained, "If you don’t believe me, let’s watch it together later."

Jiang Jingheng had no interest in such shows and didn’t respond, just lowered his head to eat.

Mu Yan thought he was hungry and hurriedly added food to his plate.

Jiang Jingheng saw she wasn’t eating herself and said, "You eat too."

"I’m already full," Mu Yan replied.

"Had a late lunch?" Jiang Jingheng asked, knowing she wouldn’t eat without him normally.

"No, I just ate a lot while cooking," Mu Yan replied, "I was tasting the flavors."

Jiang Jingheng glanced at her, put down his chopsticks, and went to the kitchen to check. Sure enough, the trash can was full of discarded food.

He returned to the dining table and simply said, "Don’t waste food like this next time."

"Okay," Mu Yan immediately said.

After dinner, while Mu Yan went to take a shower, Jiang Jingheng quickly called Song Cheng’an, asking him to turn down the guest spot on ’Free Life’ for Mu Yan.

Song Cheng’an was puzzled, "Why?"

Jiang Jingheng frowned, "Just reject it because I said so."

He couldn’t possibly tell Song Cheng’an that he didn’t want Mu Yan cooking for others to eat, could he?

"Old Jiang, in the past, whatever you said about Mu Yan’s work, I followed as if it were an imperial decree, but things are different now," Song Cheng’an sighed.

Jiang Jingheng frowned, "How are they different?"

"You have a wife now, obviously, what your wife says holds more sway than you, so if you want to cancel the event, have your wife tell me," Song Cheng’an replied.

Jiang Jingheng, "..."

If he asked her opinion, she definitely wouldn’t agree.

On the other end, Song Cheng’an added, "Things in the past are over. Now, I think you shouldn’t interfere too much in her work. She’s not a fool; if you control too much, she might not say anything at the time, but might not be happy later."

Jiang Jingheng said nothing and just hung up the phone.

Would she be angry with him?

Thinking of how she was always compliant with him, he thought it was unlikely.

But, he didn’t dare to bet on it.

Mu Yan came out of the bathroom and saw Jiang Jingheng standing on the balcony, lost in thought.

She asked, "What are you thinking about?"

Jiang Jingheng snapped out of it and saw her in pajamas with wet hair, her delicate brows slightly furrowed, "Your hair’s not dry."

"Oh, I’ll go dry it now," Mu Yan said as she grabbed the hairdryer and went back to the bathroom.

Jiang Jingheng noticed the water cup on the table was empty and went downstairs to refill it for her.

He hadn’t mentioned not letting her attend the show.

The next day, Song Cheng’an arranged for Mu Yan to have afternoon tea with Xiang Lanqiu.

It was rare to meet Xiang Lanqiu, so Mu Yan carefully chose her outfit and put on makeup.

There’s a saying, dressing well is a sign of respect to others.

Even before entering the entertainment industry, she was a fan of Li Yushen and Xiang Lanqiu and considered them role models even more so after joining.

When Mu Yan and Song Cheng’an arrived at the café, Xiang Lanqiu was already there, sitting by the window.

She wore an amber-colored long dress and a floral hat, a cup of coffee by her side, looking elegant like a socialite from the last century.

She was staring out the window, lost in thought.

Song Cheng’an saw her zoning out and laughed, "What are you daydreaming about?"

Xiang Lanqiu snapped back to reality, looked at the two of them, and was momentarily stunned, but quickly masked her emotions and said, "You’re here."
