A Luna for Alpha Kieran-Chapter 95: Game over
Chapter 95: Game over
"Touch and what now?" Mara blinked.
"It’s a game," Serra said, already scrambling to the center. "One person gets to call the shots! The rest of us are all blindfolded and spin around, and then we have to feel around and find a specific object that is being called out. No peeking. No help. Just... fumbling through chaos. The one who is not blindfolded keeps an eye. Whoever finds the object first, gets to call the shots next. Are we clear on the rules, ladies?"
"Oh Moon," Niva groaned, massaging her temple. "We are really doing this."
"Yes!" Mara cheered. "What could possibly go wrong?"
"Everything," Lyla muttered, finally sipping from her untouched wine and crossing her legs elegantly. " Everyone is literally drunk. But... who cares! "
But Autumn couldn’t help it...she was smiling too. Just a little. The game sounded exciting.
"Alright!" Serra declared, tying the scarf around her own eyes. "Who is going to volunteer first? And please call out something ridiculous."
" I will do it! " Niva stood up as they all tied their eyes with whatever cloth they could find. "Remember, no cheating. If you are caught... The punishment will be scandalous! "
"Cheese tart!" Niva yelled, already laughing, giving them no moment of respite as soon as they were done.
"There were twelve on the tray!" Someone yelled. " Damn! Just get one... "
"No problem. I got this." Serra stood up confidently... and immediately tripped on her own gown. "Wait...NOPE! Okay, alright, I am recalibrating."
"You are heading the wrong way," Niva said, doing nothing to stop her from heading straight into a chair.
Serra slammed into it with a dramatic oof.
Then began crawling.
And somehow slapped Meira’s ankle.
"IS THIS THE TART?"
"Unless you think I am edible," Meira yelped, kicking her off. "Try again, you pirate bat!"
Serra crawled right into the food table. There was a crash.
Tarts hit the floor. Skewers rolled under the couch.
One got impaled into a cushion.
"Victory!" Serra shrieked, grabbing a shoe instead. "This is a tart, right?"
"That’s my heel!" Mara screamed. "Give it back!"
The room was howling.
Lyla actually laughed...like literally laughed..
and nearly spilled her drink.
Autumn watched with astonishment. There was something surreal about seeing these powerful, poised women collapse into utter foolishness. Maybe that was the magic of it.
"Alright, alright," Serra declared, flopping back down and pulling off the scarf. "We nailed that.Niva, did anybody actually touch the tart? Who gets to call the next shot? "
"You destroyed the buffet," Meira corrected, pointing at the overturned tray as she pulled her blind fold off.
" ’We’ overturned the table, Meira!! Now this is what is called a feast! "
"My turn!" Mara stood up dramatically, wobbling like a newborn foal. "I’m gonna ask you to find... the grapes! Everyone...hurry up!"
"There are no grapes," Niva pointed out.
"I knew that," Mara said confidently. "That’s why it’s a challenge."
She blindfolded herself clearly too drunk to follow the game anymore.
She spun.
And spun.
And spun.
Then took a majestic step forward and...WHAM.
She crashed right into the drapes, got tangled, and screamed, "THE GRAPES ARE TRYING TO KILL ME!"
Autumn burst into laughter, doubling over.
Even Lyla had to wipe tears from her eyes.
"This is chaos," Autumn muttered through her giggles.
"Sweet," Niva agreed, nodding her head as he laughed her heart out.
"Okay, okay. Pass me a glass. I am thirsty and I hate working for things I want."
"You are going to drink from the floor, aren’t you?" Serra deadpanned. frёewebnoѵēl.com
Meira did not answer...because her blindfold was on as well. And she was army crawling with exaggerated stealth across the floor.
"Oh Moon," Niva muttered. "She is going full commando. These two are really goners..."
"She just sniffed the cushion!" Lyla cackled.
"That was a test," Meira slurred. "All senses are activated. Taste, smell, and intuition.I am not wasted...not yet..."
She grabbed an overturned tart, sniffed it suspiciously, then licked it.
Everyone screamed.
Autumn was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes.
"You are disgusting!" Serra said, chucking a pillow at her.
The pillow hit Niva instead, who without any hesitation, threw a wine soaked napkin across the room in retaliation.
Then Mara grabbed a cushion.
Autumn ducked just in time.
And then...The room exploded into a full blown pillow fight.
Feathers flew. Cushions launched. Someone screamed about a cheese skewer in their bra. The snacks didn’t survive.
At one point, Meira grabbed the wine bottle like a club and announced, "TO GLORY!"
It was mayhem.
But it was beautiful.
Then suddenly Serra raised her messy hands up and announced, " Ok... ok. These two have been sitting there quietly and enjoying the show! Bring them in. Blind fold the two of them. I will call the shots this time! " She pointed at Autumn and Lyla who looked at each other awkwardly.
Then they were blindfolded... quite securely.
Autumn could barely see a thing through the scarf tied over her eyes. She heard the countdown. Heard the hoots and claps and giggles as she and Lyla were spun like drunks on a wedding dance floor.
"Go!" Serra hollered. "First one to find the crystal vase wins!"
"You do realize it’s glass?" Lyla said flatly, trying to sound bored but already wobbling slightly in her boots. "We are going to break it."
"That is the thrill, darling!" Niva almost cackled.
Autumn stuck her arms out and took a tentative step forward, hands feeling the air . She could hear Lyla somewhere off to the left muttering things like, "This is idiotic," and "I swear if I break a nail..."
"Cheer them on, ladies!" Serra bellowed like a game show host.
"Ahhh...you guys got this!" Mara whooped. "Go! Left! No...other left!"
"You are confusing them!" Meira hissed. "Damn! She is going to bump into the wine table!"
"There is no wine table anymore," someone else muttered. "You flipped it. Remember?...just the wreckage is left! "
Autumn, for her part, was actually having fun. Blind and stumbling, but laughing under her breath, she inched along carefully. Her fingers brushed fabric.
A curtain? No, someone’s gown. She recoiled, mumbling an apology.
Lyla wasn’t faring any better. She had somehow cornered herself against the couch and was methodically slapping the cushions like they were suspects in an interrogation.
"Where. Is. The. Damn. Vase."
"You are patting cushions, baby girl," Serra informed dryly.
"Oh. Lovely."
Then... Autumn took another step forward ,a little desperate this time but bumped into something.
No damn...someone.
Her knee hit first. Then her outstretched hand collided with a warm, solid chest. She let out a surprised yelp, too late to stop her momentum. Her foot caught something uneven and she pitched forward.
But before she could hit the floor, a hand shot out. Strong. Firm. Wrapping around her waist.
Autumn gasped as she was caught. Her other hand flew instinctively to her stomach, startled. Her entire body froze.
The room went silent.
