A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 198: THE UNION (6)
Chapter 198: THE UNION (6)
"You don’t understand this, do you?" Logan asked, his voice was stern, he wiped his lips with the back of his hand, as if he was disgusted with the fact that he had kissed Rose.
His gesture hurt her. She felt like she was being insulted. "What should I understand?" She gritted her teeth, being defensive.
Logan opened his mouth, but then he closed it again, his jaw thickened and Rose could see his bulging veins on his forehead. He was angry, but instead of lashing out at her like most men did, he simply walked away from the room.
Rose had readied herself for the worst, but it didn’t happen. He didn’t yell at her, but it didn’t make him any better than other man.
And now, she was sitting alone in her bed, naked, humiliated, just because she showed no enthusiasm for the mated procession.
"I gave him permission to do whatever with my body, but he is angry?" Rose narrowed her eyes dangerously. "That’s why you don’t give a low life power, they have so many demands."
Gritting her teeth, Rose put on her dress again and then went to bed. She laid down on her side and closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep, forgetting the insult.
The next day, Rose saw Logan in the dining hall, he was sitting on the alpha’s seat, which mean she had to sit next to him. She was reluctant and didn’t want to be near him, but this was her duty and her new role as the luna now.
Swallowing her ego, she sat down next to Logan, where he immediately stood up. For a brief moment, Rose thought, he was going to leave her, making it very obvious to the warriors, who were eating with them that their relationship was not good to say the least.
However, to her surprised, Logan clanked his goblet with butter knife, demanding attention from everyone presence in the dining hall.
"I would like to introduce you to your new luna. She will rule by my side and she will be respected and treated with the utmost respect that she deserved."
For a moment, Rose couldn’t believe it, she stared at Logan, not quite understood with what had occurred, until he mouthed to her. ’Stand up.’
"Oh..." Rose stood up absentmindedly, as Logan introduced her.
All the warriors greeted her, they lowered their head and showed their utmost respect toward their new luna.
If Rose could be honest, it felt nice to be welcomed. She didn’t show it, but she was slightly worried that the people in this pack would give her a hard time.
Once they resumed to their sitting position and continue to eat, Logan talked to her, his voice was very formal, as if he was talking to a princess from the other kingdom, instead of his own mate.
"I will go to the palace, but I don’t know when I will return."
"For what?" Rose couldn’t help, but asked, for a moment, she thought Logan wouldn’t answer her, but he actually replied to her question.
"The king wanted to march the warriors to Greywolf pack." Logan stopped eating, but he still didn’t look at Rose. "He declares a war against the lycan and now, with the help of your father, once the preparation has done, we will raze the pack."
Rose knew about that, she knew what happened at the court and her father’s secret meeting with Bryden. King Amidas said for her to stay low, they were going to wait, which side they would take, since they were not going to go into a losing battle.
"What about Great Lunar kingdom? Did they king also join in?" Rose asked casually, if they couldn’t talk about the thing that happened between them, at the very least, they were comfortable enough to talk about this.
"There is a huge problem in Great Lunar kingdom. Princess Lyra has an addiction to opium and it’s just revealed that her mate is actually a big dealer from the other continent. The kingdom is in crisis because they are dealing with the distribution of opium. I am not sure if they are going to join the fray."
And before Rose could ask further, Logan stood up and then left the room. He only gave her face, by talking to her and not completely ignore her in front of the warriors, since he was going to be away for a few days, Logan didn’t want the people in this pack to have something to talk about regarding their future luna.
Logan had seen it with his own eyes how thing went between Xaden and Zuri. He didn’t need unnecessary trouble like that.

It was dark, so dark... she didn’t even know whether she had her eyes opened or not, because everything was the same. She couldn’t even see the hand right before her eyes.
Khaos?
She tried to call her, but she was not sure whether she made any sound at all, because it was too quiet, eerily very quiet.
Where is this?
No sound, no answer.
Zuri tried to call for Khaos again, but still, there was nothing. Panic started to grip her heart, as she tried to walk away, trying to find a shred of light, no matter how small it was, so she would know where she was going, where she had to go.
There was this soft sound, dripping sound, as if water dripped from the leaked ceiling. Zuri turned around, but what she saw, made her scream on the top of her lungs.
"Zuri!"
Khaos grabbed her body, she was thrashing and didn’t even realize when she clawed his face. Blood dripped from the wound and when she saw the blood, tracing it back to Khaos’s face, her eyes filled with mortification.
"I am sorry... I didn’t mean..."
"It’s okay." Khaos wiped the blood from his wound, which already closed. "I am fine. What happened?"
Zuri mumbled to herself. "...dead..."
"Who?"
"Me. I am dead... I saw it. I am dead..."
