Chapter 200: THE START OF THE WAR (2)

There was still uncertainty with Wolfdale Kingdom. They didn’t manage to kill all the delegations that Dacre sent away, because apparently, king Amidas was on the way to Celeste kingdom for the union between Rose and alpha Logan.

Bryden did meet with king Amidas, but there was no certain decision yet. Zuri agreed with Khaos that the king from Wolfdale kingdom was playing both sides, he was waiting to see, who had the most advantage and a big chance to win this war.

He thought he was being cunning, but that king was actually being stupid. Who needed an opportunist like that? But, they were going to deal with him later.

"Zuri, you are not war strategist," Gayle finally said. She was smart, but war was not her strong forte, she had never been in one.

"Do you agree with them?" Zuri emphasized her question.

"You don’t know the terrain of this pack."

"I know the terrain of Blackthorne pack." Zuri didn’t let her question go unanswered. "Do you agree with them?"

She didn’t appreciate the way they treated her as if she didn’t exist, as if she was nothing, but an object.

Khaos didn’t want to let her go even after the beauty blood was completed, he made it very clear about it, he backed away from his promise to left her alone and if she was going to live for the rest of her life as his luna, these people had to treat her with the respect she deserved.

"Don’t misunderstand me, as part of this long life mission, I do agree with them. You are supposed to be part of the plan to take down the kingdom. Khaos would get the ultimate power as the alpha with the Three Legacies of the lycan. This is nothing personal." Gayle then added. "But, I can understand why the alpha is not willing to give you up. If I were on his shoes, I will not do any harm on my mate either."

"It’s so sweet of you." Zuri patted Gayle’s shoulder. "Now, call all the other warrior leaders to come here within half an hour."

"Zuri, you don’t understand..."

But, Zuri cut him off. "You are the one, who doesn’t understand. I am Khaos’s mate, which makes me their luna and if we won this battle, I am going to be his queen." Zuri tilted his head. "Is this how you are going to treat your future queen? People doesn’t change overnight, I need to straighten them out before their disrespect festered and it’s cause another trouble. I am not going to take this disrespect lightly."

She was raised to be the luna of the pack. Her mother had prepared her for this role in her entire life, because her father wanted it too.

And more importantly, she was the luna of the pack before. She knew how it worked with this kind of people. They were not going to respect you just because you bled for them, just because you gave your life for them, that was not how it worked.

They saw her as a ’Shell’, an object and Zuri would see them the same. These people were useful and she was going to use them for her own advantage, so long Khaos didn’t want to let her go.

"Go and call them."

Gayle couldn’t say anything anymore and then left the room, leaving her only with Caiden.

"You have not yet told me what is your answer." Zuri stared at the map on the table and the red dots. "Do you agree with them?"

Khaos didn’t give Caiden’s title back as the gamma, but he forgave him enough to be in the strategy room.

"I don’t see you as an object if that’s your question is about." Caiden pulled out a chair and then sat down. "I don’t have any particular feeling about this revenge, if I could be honest. I don’t lose anything when the massacre happened to the old dynasty three decades ago, so I don’t share a deep sentiment like them."

Caiden had his parents and brothers, he had his own family, thus his sentiment was not as deep like the others.

"But, I have been raised to know that this is a life long mission is very important, more important than your own life and that’s all I know my whole life."

Rose watched Logan woke up and cleaned himself up before he returned with only towel around his waist.

"We need to talk," Rose said. She got off the bed and approached him.

They stayed in the same bedroom, but they didn’t sleep on the same bed, Logan refused. He chose the sofa, because he didn’t want to touch her. Hell, Rose thought, he was disgusted by her. The audacity!

If there was someone between them, who were disgusted by the other, it would be her.

"What is it?"

Logan turned around and then faced her when Rose thought he was going to ignore her, thus she was a little bit flustered.

She cleared her throat to regain her composure and gathered the words she wanted to say. "You need to stop acting like this. If you have a problem with me, you need to communicate it. Ignoring me will not solve our problem."

She was irritated because even after a month, Logan had not yet mated and marked her. She needed to cover her neck for the lack of the alpha’s mark there. This was humiliating. How could someone inferior than her could put her on edge?

For a moment, Logan seemed like he was not going to engage in the conversation, but the next thing he said, changed the entire topic completely.

"The king asked you to come to the palace with me," Logan said grimly.

"Why only now you told me?" Rose widened her eyes in surprised and she appeared to excited to his liking.

"What is the relationship between you and the king?" The question laced in accusatory tone.
