Chapter 250: HAVE YOU FOUND ZURI?

"Well to be fair, I don’t think he will give a shit about me." Zuri twirled her hair with her finger, while blood dripped from her neck. "He doesn’t give a shit about me... he doesn’t give a shit about me..." she sang with the lyric.

Lorent stare at her while she was singing and then humming that stupid song.

"Yes, he doesn’t give a shit about you," he validated her feeling. "He is here because he wanted his Shell back, not his mate. He is worried about you because you are the key for him to get the ultimate power of the lycan. You are nothing for him."

Zuri stopped singing, she stopped rocking her body back and forth. She stared blankly at Lorent and then chewed on her lip.

What Zuri said was right. Lorent most likely wouldn’t get his mate back. He shouldn’t have let Zuri knew about the existence of his mate. That was his fault.

At that time, he thought Zuri could help him to stop Khaos from continuing the tradition with the ritual of the beauty blood, but it backfired at him.

Lorent walked toward Zuri, he caressed her head, while she kept staring blankly at him. "You are right. You said earlier that if you went down, you were going to drag me down with you." Lorent’s gaze darkened. "I can say the same thing to you."

Since Khaos was going to ruin his mate, he was going to ruin his as well.

Currently, they were in the south area of the palace, the further away from the throne room. It will take a while for Khaos to find them here.

Meanwhile, the other magic users were hovering around them in the room. Lauren felt not really good with the fact they were here instead of being with Declan, as if they were waiting for something.

Their eyes fell on Zuri meaningfully. They were tense and Lorent could tell something was not right.

It had been four hours since Khaos arrived in the Great Palace and looked for Zury.

And during these four hours, he had been dragging Declan with him, his blood splattered on the floor, he was dying because of the blood loss.

Yet, whenever he was going to lose his consciousness, Chaos would make sure he woke up and felt everything, every second of the pain. He wouldn’t let him to close his eyes neither he would let him to find the comfort of being unconscious.

This was what Declan had put Zuri through for years. He caused her so much pain, and what he had to endure now was only a glimpse of it.

He should have been very grateful that Khaos was rather merciful toward him, since he didn’t kill him right away. This was a torture that he let Zuri succumbed on it and he would avenge her her.

If he could go so far to avenge the family that he had ever met, to crack his brain, to fulfill their demand for the revenge, then he would go that far too to avenge his mate.

After all, they were right about one thing about him; he wouldn’t allow them to complete the beauty blood because he didn’t want to put Zuri in more pain than she already had.

However, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t. He still couldn’t protect her because the enemy didn’t come from outside. The enemy was inside and Khaos had to fight his own people to protect his mate.

It was one thing to fight your enemy, but it was entirely different thing when you had to fight your own people.

This was crazy to think how things turned out like this. They wouldn’t have ever thought this would be the end of it.

Khaos then glanced at Declan, who looked like he was going to pass out again, but then the lycan smashed his head against the wall to wake him up.

He jerked up and moaned in pain.

"Do you still refuse to speak?" Khaos tried to follow the scent of the magic users, but it was to no avail, since apparently, they used some trick to put their scent all over the palace, so there was no way to follow them.

"My great lycan, I have kept my eyes on you for years." Declan furrowed his brows. He didn’t fight Khaos at all. "Think about all of the sacrifices that you have done. Will you let it go to the drain because of her?"

Khaos glanced at Declan disdainfully, while he kept talking. He was half awake now. The pain was too much and he had lost so much blood, yet he was still yapping.

"Think about your family, think about the enemy who had wrong your people. Think about the revenge, the pain that they caused to your people and your follower, to your loyalist. The people who had been showing you nothing but loyalty, the people who died for your family. This revenge is not yours only. This revenge is the revenge for all the people here who was wronged for the massacre thirty years ago. Think about that. Please, stop for a while and think about that."

But, as the answer, Khaos smashed his head against the wall again and then kicked his body across the empty hallway.

Khaos then walked slowly, carefully, so he could hear or see if there was something, anything that indicated Zuri was nearby, but there was nothing.

It was hard to find her, and when the night came, all the warriors had come to surround the palace, Caiden also came with them.

He immediately went to Khaos and asked how the situation here. He was shocked to see Declan was there.

However, before he could ask any question Khaos had told him to go back to Greywolf pack.

"Why?" Caiden started to protest. "I just arrived here and you wanted to send me back to Greywolf pack? Have you found Zuri?"
