A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 264: KILLING SPREE
Chapter 264: KILLING SPREE
Raising her hand, Zuri cupped Khaos’s face and smeared the lycan’s face with blood. She was smiling playfully at him.
"You don’t need to worry about me, I am fine, this is not my blood," Zuri said casually. She was beaming.
That statement made Gayle felt dread. The way Zuri spoke, the way she smiled, the way she didn’t feel any regret or anything made him felt ill all over his body. He knew whose blood was that.
If it was not Zuri’s blood, then it must be someone else’s and he was right about it.
"I killed my maid," Zuri said easily, as if she was stating the fact.
"Why?" Khaos’s expression didn’t change even after he heard what happened. He tucked strands of Zuri’s hair behind her ear.
"She combed my hair too hard. That’s why I killed her. I don’t like it."
Gayle swallowed down so hard when he heard that. This was not Zuri. This was completely not her. Khaos would have known that it was not Zuri, right?
However, Khaos didn’t give any reaction, he simply nodded and then took Zuri’s hand.
"We need to clean you up, you can’t go around with blood on you like this."
And that was all Khaos’s reaction when he heard what Zuri had done to the poor maid girl.
Gayle knew this was not Zuri. There was no way she would be so care less and heartless like this. Zuri always had this urge to kill anyone around her, especially when she was being too emotional or overwhelmed.
It was because of the side effect of the curses that was inflicted on her and they couldn’t completely blame her for that. Even Gayle thought they had been very cruel to Zuri and ruined her life.
However, Zuri would try to fight it back, she knew that it was not right. She would feel disturbed and bothered whenever she had the urge or even fear of herself whenever she felt the urge to kill someone else.
Yet, this Zury in front of him didn’t even feel an ounce of regret at all. She looked like she enjoyed it. And what made things even worse, was the fact that this wouldn’t be the last time.
The death of the maid was the beginning for Zuri to kill someone else. Her first journey to her killing spree.
A week later, they found a warrior was dead. The brutality of the attack was flabbergasted. His intestine was out. His body and limbs were being cut out and he was half burned from the waist down. It was a gruesome scene to see and no one was be able to stand the sight of it, even though most of them was a battle hardened warrior.
"We need to stop this," Gayle said to Dezgar. He looked at the man with horror in his eyes. The discovered for the dead body of the warrior was yesterday and the palace had been shrouded by dread.
The magic user knew the situation was dire, he knew that Zuri wouldn’t be the same, but he had never thought that she would be like this.
Her urge to kill increased, it became even more and more apparent.
"You need to stop this." Gayle felt like he was losing his mind.
"You know I can’t stop this. Only Khaos stands a chance to stop her. If I am going to stop her, it means I have to go against Khaos and you know what the result for going against him right?" Dezgar glared back at Gayle when he gave her a sharp look. "I am not going to put my life in danger like that."
Dezgar refused to do anything with Zuri’s condition.
"We can’t keep ignoring this. All the warrior are restless right now. They wanted to know who have killed their fellow warrior."
"They already know about it, but they are too afraid to say it," Dezgar pointed it out the truth and once again, Gayle knew that was true.
They actually knew who it was.
"It wouldn’t be good for Khaos in the long run if the warrior lost their faith on him."
"Why don’t you talk to Khaos if you cared so much about it? You can just go and talk to him about Zuri’s behavior. You know he is the only one who can stop Zuri."
"I know." Gayle looked frustrated. "But he didn’t want to listen." He had tried to talk with Khaos about it, yet all the effort was a waste when Khaos didn’t see there was anything wrong with it.
He might as well watch and pamper her to the void, while he patted Zuri’s head when she killed his warriors. Gayle was almost certain that Khaos wouldn’t do anything to stop her at all.
Things only got worse right now, not only because the restlessness of the warriors, but also because the killing had increased.
Before it happened only twice a month, but right now, every week they would find another dead body of Zuri’s victim, in such brutal and disturbing sight.
They feared Zuri now. They couldn’t fight her, but then they had to protect their lives too. All the warriors had been increasingly anxious. They avoided to patrol around the main palace. They were afraid of the great queen, which was very understandable. Their fear was justified.
It almost like there was a tacit understanding that their queen was mentally not stable. They already knew that all the killing had been done by the queen, while the king wouldn’t do anything to stop her or even doing something for the warriors. It was a doom fate for them.
"You really need to do something about it. You can’t let Zuri to have a killing spree. The warriors are restless. You have to say something. You have to do something about it."
It was one of rare occasions, where Gayle could talk to Khaos alone without Zuri’s presence, since she was getting high somewhere.
