A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 269: THE SECRET MEETING

Rhett managed to survive the massacre that happened in the Great Palace when Khaos learned that Zuri might not survive the completion of the beauty blood. He was not here during that bloody event.

And for Declan, he was still alive because Khaos wanted more from him. He wanted him to be alive. He wanted to torture him more. He was going to keep him alive as long as possible because death was a mercy, while life was a torture and that was what Declan had given Zuri for the last few years of her life.

If Khaos was willing to avenge his family, his whole race and the people that he had never met before, then he would do even more for his mate. That was why Declan managed to survive the torture, unfortunately.

Right now, Rhett and Declan were escaping the Great Palace with the help of a few warriors.

The warriors had been very restless for months, since the lycan didn’t do anything when Zuri killed them one by one.

If they stayed, they would be killed for nothing. It was different if you died in a battle than died stupidly because there was this unhinged woman, who wanted to fulfill her desire of violence.

They didn’t put their loyalty on Zuri and based on that, they were not willing to die for her, especially just to fulfill her craziness.

"What are we going to do now? Have you prepared everything that I have told you?" Declan asked Rhett.

He had planned this in his mind ever since he saw how attached Khaos was with Zuri. Somehow, he knew that the lycan would do everything for his mate. He would even abandon their life long plan and goal. This was not how thing should end.

The cult didn’t help with the completion of beauty blood only for nothing. The old dynasty should be revived, so the three kingdoms could be united.

But, if Khaos didn’t want to do that, then Declan would build his own.

"We will see her tomorrow. Once we enter the Blackthorne pack, she will be in the border. You don’t need to worry about that," Rhett told Declan. He looked anxious and Declan could tell.

"What is it? Are you worried about something?"

Currently, they were on the run, they managed to leave Three Deadly Ways three days ago and they would reunite with their warriors before they met with that woman.

"Do you think we can still save Zuri?"

Declan stared at Rhett for a while. The torture from Khaos had healed because the Lycan had been busy with Zuri and he had not yet visited him for a few days, which allowed his wounds to heal properly just because he was a sifter.

That was the only reason why he was still alive after such gruesome torture in his hands. Right now, after all the resentment Declan felt toward Khaos since he and his cult had helped him to gain such powerful power, he saw the Lycan as an ungrateful creature.

He wanted him to pay for everything!

Declan felt Khaos had betrayed them since he cared more about Zuri than their life long goal to unite the three kingdoms and revive the old dynasty.

"She cannot be helped. The poison in her, force her to become a drug addict. She will not be able to get away with the drug. You need to let her go."

Declan cared about Zuri, yet he cared about her when she was the Shell for the beauty blood. But right now, she was nothing but a crazy murderer.

Khaos should have killed her and that’s the wise thing to do. That was the logical thing to be done.

However, Declan couldn’t say something like that in front of Rhett, because he knew how much this man care about their little sister.

"Are you, okay?"

Rhett sighed deeply. "No. I am not. I don’t feel good with the whole thing. This is too much. We shouldn’t have done that to Zuri."

"Yes, we have to do that. This is the right thing."

Rhett disagreed with his brother. "If this is the right thing, thing will be better by now, but it didn’t."

"Because Khaos ruined everything. You need to know that."

After that, Rhett said nothing. There was silence between them as they waited for her to come, and it took two hours before she was finally here.

"You are very late." Declan looked unhappy to wait for her this long.

Soon enough, the woman stepped into the clearing and the pale moon of the moonlight shone over her. She smiled at them, while the royal beasts surrounded the place to ensure the queen’s safety.

Yes, that was Rose. She was there to talk term with Declan and Rhett. She smiled at them. However, you couldn’t be fooled by her sweet smile because there was nothing good about it.

"I am sorry. As a queen, I have a lot of things to do."

Declan scoffed at the excuse. "I am sure you have a lot of things to do." Declan knew since the ceremony when Logan was crowned as the King of Celeste Kingdom, the person who was actually pulling the force was Rose.

That was why he told Rhett to make the meeting with Rose instead of Logan since she was the true power behind this kingdom.

"So, do you bring her?"

"Yes, we bring her, but I will not give her until I knew what kind of plan do you have in mind." Rose wouldn’t give in easily and Declan expected that.

"You are being very cautious." He smirked. The royal family from the Great Lunar kingdom had been pain in the ass for Torrence family for decades.

"I will not be in this position if I am not cautious." Rose crossed her arms in front of her chest, as she mimicked Declan’s expression.

"Good." Declan nodded, he looked pleased with the way Rose approached the situation.
