A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 99: I AM SCARED
Chapter 99: I AM SCARED
Khaos could deduct that Silas was the most clueless soul in this pack about what actually happened to Zuri, aside from bullying her relentlessly, he didn't have any interest toward her, as he spent most of his time between women's legs in brothel.

Rhett obviously knew something, but he was very stubborn not to give up yet, even though was going through torture and Declan...
He looked timid, like a coward, yet Khaos felt something off about him. Zuri was not close with her second brother, because he used to keep it for himself and stay in the library for a whole day and night.
Declan had a mate, who was currently six months pregnant.
Regarding to the healer, they couldn't find any healer, who knew what was Red Feather and when Zuri took Khaos to the healer's house, who used to give her the medicine, the place was empty. The healer had moved out and people said she was not a healer, even though Zuri insisted that she and her mother would get the medicine from her.
This was another question about what actually happened to Zuri.
Moreover, the whole thing about how Khaos's focus was solely on Zuri made Caiden restless. The gamma didn't like this change and once again reminded him.
"What's your deal, Khaos? Don't tell me you are infatuated with her?" Caiden tried to make the conversation light.
The entire ordeal of looking for a healer had agitated the gamma, they should have focused on their main goal for coming here in the first place and established the situation here. Now Silas was in better condition, they could start the ceremony for him to be the alpha of the pack and after that, they needed to handle the problem with Golden Stamp and Great Lunar kingdom.
There were a lot of things that they had to do instead of wasting their time on Zuri.
After what happened, Caiden had not yet met with Zuri, but he observed her from afar, especially when she was with the alpha. He was still torn between letting Bryden and his father knew about what happened here, or he should keep his mouth shut and let Khaos handled it like usual.
"Beauty blood," Khaos finally said.
Both of them walked in the empty hallway after they came to visit Rhett in the dungeon, but he still refused to say a word. It would end up good for him. He was not going to die soon, but he would eventually wish he did.
"Do you have clue about it?!" Caiden was surprised, he raised his brows at Khaos. "What do you know about it?"
"Rhett said, he has been nurturing beauty blood and it's Zuri."
"What? What do you mean with that?"
Khaos shook his head. "I am still looking for the answer."
"Beauty blood... beauty blood..." Caiden murmured to himself. "If he knew about beauty blood and actually doing something about it, it means, he has the scriptures."
"Yes."
"Dang!" Caiden slapped his forehead. "You should have let me know about it sooner. Should we let Bryden and my father knew about it?"
"No. Let's talk about it when they are here. The letter can be intercepted." More so now, Dacre had his eyes on Khaos's every movement.
The alpha knew that the king had started to make a move against him, because he saw him as a threat. The coup must have left him with paranoia, especially now when he had not yet had an heir.
"What else do you know about this beauty blood?" Caiden asked curiously. The only thing that they were missing was this information about beauty blood.
Khaos glanced at his gamma and then proceeded to tell him everything that he knew.
"Do you think your attraction to her and her attraction to you, related to this? Because of this beauty blood?" Caiden contemplated the answer, but Khaos didn't give him any response, as he headed toward the bedroom. He needed to check on Zuri.
However, before he could leave, Caiden stopped him.
"Khaos." Caiden furrowed his brows. "Do you think it's alright to keep her by your side? She... can be very dangerous."
Caiden contemplated the fight between him and Zuri, though it only lasted for a minute or two, but he knew if the fight continued, he was not confident that he would win.
The aura that surrounded her was... different. As if she was a different person from the woman, he met for the first time, when they went for the business with the ships.
"Khaos, you need to be careful with her."
"Are you afraid that she will kill me?" Khaos tilted his head, amused with the look of concern
on Caiden's face. He then patted his shoulder. "That's the last thing that you should be
concern about."
After saying that, Khaos left him there. If there was one thing, he was sure about Zuri, it must be the fact that she wouldn't do any harm on him. He just knew.
Zuri had been staying inside the bedroom, because her condition was getting worse, but because of what happened earlier, Khaos had ordered to clear the room, so she wouldn't be able to harm herself during one of her episodes.
Despite that, Khaos smelled blood once he got closer to the bedroom and this made him
hasten his step. He heard her mumbled voice and when he opened the door, he saw Zuri was sitting at the corner, hugging herself, rocking her body back and forth and talked to no one in particular. Her eyes were not focus.
Khaos approached her carefully and once he was close to her to the point she could smell his scent, she lifted her head and looked at him in the eyes.
"Khaos..." Her voice was trembling, it laced with fear, as she threw herself to him, crying her heart out. "I am scared. I am scared... can you tell them to stop talking to me?" She was trembling in his arms.
