A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 544: Revitalized Body
Closing and opening her fists repeatedly, Elaina can tell the difference before and now. She isn’t just imagining it. Her body felt younger, and the usual limitations that happen when a person gets older, oddly disappeared like it had been cured all of a sudden.
"Did...did you just make me younger?" Elaina frowned.
"Not necessarily younger, but revitalizing your body back to the point where you are at your strongest. Don’t get me wrong, you are still strong, not too long ago, but it seems that your body has diminished power compared to your prime. I just restored it without changing your body too much. You might feel "energized" instead, as you will feel that your body has finally gotten more than usual. In fact, I can say that there might be more effects other than that, but I just couldn’t know yet."
"But why do this? I never specifically wanted to return to my prime, you know?" Elaina frowned. She isn’t angry; her body is revitalized, but why do that in the first place?
"It is the only thing that my power can help you with, and also a sign of appreciation to your work. Since the World Tree is all about the revitalizing power and keeping nature continuing to flourish, the blessing and authority I can naturally share are, of course, related to revitalization. I can also share my power to cast magic spells related to increasing fertility to the land and increasing productivity, but with your body naturally rejecting mana, I don’t think you will gain any benefit from it."
After she said those words, her body slowly dissipates and seems to be disintegrating.
"Ah...it seems this is my limit. But don’t be alarmed. This is the only temporary body, which is why my form is so unstable and I can’t even properly shape my body at all, and I look like a slime creature with this form. Once the World Tree fully recovers, I will be able to return. Until then, we will meet again, my saviour."
And just like that, the slime disappears without a trace, leaving Elaina standing alone inside the cave with the recovering World Tree. Elaina looked around and couldn’t see any sort of traces of her existence anymore. The whispers she hears have also disappeared completely.
"[Looks like her energy has been exhausted as a result of imparting her blessing to you. Perhaps because of that, she is not able to fully remain and keep her form intact to keep on talking with you.]" the God of Farming confirmed.
"Is it true that she is indeed a spirit of the world tree?" Elaina asked for further confirmation.
"[I can’t really confirm it, Elaina. Her spirit is so faint that even with her presence, it is not enough for me to fully confirm if she is speaking the truth or if she is just not the real deal. However, I am not going to say she is lying. After all, you first-handly experienced the revitalization of your body. Perhaps that is enough of a reason or a proof that she is the real deal, just weakened to the point that she can’t do a proper show to you to reveal her identity.]"
Elaina closed and opened her fist once more, trying to ensure she wasn’t just imagining things, before she grabbed her sword and unsheathed the blade. With the space around the World Tree being too spacious, it is a perfect place for her to see how her body fares now.
She closes her eyes, feels the heaviness of the sword, and forms into a fighting stance. Compared to before, her body feels at ease and easier to move. Elaina can also feel that her body seems to quickly get used to her movements compared to before.
She swings her sword, moves her body with every swing. Every swing is graceful and delicate that even though she is moving around, she doesn’t feel tired or fatigued at all. In fact, she still feel energetic, lively in fact. It was like her body seems to have been injected with some sort of energy drink.
"I know my body has been enhanced and has returned to my prime time, but the feeling in my body still feel weird. I felt this back when I was still young, but experiencing this feeling again is something I didn’t think I would re-experience once more."
"[Is the difference really that drastic for you?]" the God of Farming seems to not see the difference.
"Yes. I can feel like I can do my work without rest in the farm from morning till afternoon. And not just any random work, but work that exerts real effort for me like plowing the fields, harvesting plants and hauling soil and fertilizers all over the place and doing that without a break or even a water break. I can potentially do that now in this body."
The God Of Farming knows the effort one should do to work in the farm, so for Elaina to mention that those works will no longer feel like a big burden for her now, compared to before where she needs break from time to time, this state of her body is superior in every way.
"I think I have to ignore the revitalization of my body and focus first on letting the World Tree recover from the rot and corruption. The tree still needed plenty of work to be done."
"[Yeah, good idea. We can reexamine your body again later once we finished the main task.]"
Elaina reequip the watering can once more and returned to her previous task. And thanks to the newfound revitalized body of hers now, Elaina is much more energetic in terms of removing the rot and corruption. This saved her a lot more time in her task and it didn’t take her too long to fully deal with every single patch of corruption that has been happening around the World Tree.
Although the corruption is gone now, the rot remains in the World Tree itself but considering that she can see visible changes on the tree itself, Elaina is not worried that those rot will continue to spread. She can tell it will recover pretty soon now that the corruption is fully gone.
"My work here is finally done."
