A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 549: Tuning in

Elaina doubts she has the potential to play instruments, especially the harmonica. Sure, she learns fast, but that doesn’t mean she immediately has the talent for it. However, the God of Music insists that Elaina has the potential, and he is not bluffing or raising Elaina’s worth just because she unlocked the page that requires his presence.

"But I am quite a newbie in terms of playing instruments. I don’t even have the slightest skills in playing drums or guitar, even. How did you even conclude I have some potential to do well with instruments in the first place?"

"[My eyes does not deceive me, my dear lady. You have the potential. Not because you have unlocked me. Even if you do haven’t unlocked my page, you have the potential to be a good maker of music! And yes, that doesn’t mean just playing instruments but rather, making actual music.]"

"Wait, are you serious?"

Playing music and making music are considered different things. Hearing that from the God of Music, isn’t that quite a bit too much? Elaina doubts she is talented enough to the point that even music is something that she can actually do. In fact, what can she not even do? Magic is indeed something she can’t do, but she barely has the need to use it in any way, shape, or form, and if she counts the blessings she receives from the Gods, doesn’t that also qualify as magic already? And then there are more factors as well.

In the end, Elaina is not sure if the God of Music is just messing with her or if she was really underestimating herself. But one thing is for sure, she will not stop practicing the music sheet and get it done.

No wonder that when Adelaide played the first half of the music, the atmosphere had changed drastically. Of course, when the music ended, the changes reverted back to normal as well, making it like those changes remain only if the melody continues to play.

"Is it true that this melody is connected to the elves?" Elaina asked. This is the only clue and connection she had for the elves, and she hoped that this music sheet could actually help her get to the bottom of this."

However, the god disappeared, and the one left behind was the God of Farming, who was also bewildered.

In the end, the whole day passed, and the God of Music did not come back. Elaina was still bewildered by what the God of Music had found, and although she was curious, with the one who holds the answers not present, Elaina could only speculate that there must be something that he had found there that he had not revealed to her.

"Morning, God of Farming, has the God of Music returned already?" Elaina asked as she is getting ready to go to her fields and begin farming.

"Do you think he actually found something interesting in this booklet for him to bolt away like he is avoiding it?"

"[Honestly, I have no idea. I also scanned that booklet myself in case I could tell what caused him to run away, but no, I don’t think I have seen anything there. Aside from the music sheet itself, there’s nothing else that makes it weird why that weird guy started running away like he was being chased or something. The only way you will know about what he found out is when he returns.]"

Since the God of Music is nowhere to be heard at all, Elaina went on to continue her tasks in the morning. Once she is done, she goes to do her practice session in the afternoon. She is getting better, but she is still too far to be called "good" and capable. She is more than a rookie and more like a first timer doing anything random.

And despite that, the God of Music did not return. Even the God of Farming asked around his fellow gods as well on where the heck the God of Music was, and no one has seen him ever since he disappeared. It was like he disappeared all of a sudden."

Elaina is not sure what the God of Music was actually doing. Did he got scared with the booklet and go into hiding? That doesn’t make sense since even the God of Farming does not sense anything weird. So...what is he actually doing?

And so, a week passed by after the first time she has practiced the harmonica. She have gradually moved from first timer to newbie zone now and although she still struggles in making good sounds, she is starting to get the hang of it. As for the God of Music, he has not tuned in since that day and until now, Elaina is wondered what happened to him.

Just when Elaina thought that the God of Music had left and permanently ditched away, that’s when the God of Music made a comeback.

"[I have returned, my dear lady! You wouldn’t believe what I have been up to these past days!]"

"Is that you, God of Music? Finally tuning in for the first time?"

"[Indeed I have returned. Forgive me for leaving you behind last time, but I didn’t expect the discovery from that music sheet you gave me would allow me to actually write something else that would complete that music sheet and make its melody continue to play out!]"

"Complete? What do you mean?" Elaina frowned. What does he mean by that?

"[I mean it. Complete. After all, the music sheet you are carrying is lacking the ending it needs. In short, it is a wonderful amalgamation of melody and magic, but it lacks the ending that would complete the song itself.
