Abnormal Gourmet Chronicle-Chapter 1053 - 510: The Trio That Eats Together_3
What does the external environment matter? Being the first to eat the snacks, having the option, that's the real enjoyment.
Previously, those who had this privilege were Shi Dadan and Ouyang. Of course, Chen Huihong and Luo Jun could have it if they wanted, but the two of them didn't want it at all. If Qin Huai really arranged for Luo Jun to sit on a small stool in the kitchen to eat snacks, Luo Jun's slap might come even faster than his curses.
Now, Qin Huai has added two more seats, reserved for Gong Liang and Wang Gen Sheng.
Wang Gen Sheng was simply flattered by this, as he didn't really understand what was going on. Wang Gen Sheng always thought he was just an ordinary acquaintance, receiving a bit of special treatment only because he introduced Zheng Da to Qin Huai. He couldn't compare to the likes of Luo Jun and Chen Huihong, who were truly well-connected.
Last time at Luo Jun's house for a tea party, Wang Gen Sheng thought Qin Huai needed someone to taste-test.
But this time, he was eating directly in the kitchen.
When Xu Tuqiang and others heard that Wang Gen Sheng, the one who wrote the shortest food reviews, got to eat in the kitchen, they were so envious their teeth nearly shattered. It's said that now Xu Tuqiang studies Wang Gen Sheng's previous food reviews daily, utterly baffled, unable to understand why someone who makes such delicious snacks as Master Qin has such poor aesthetic judgment on food reviews, actually liking that style.
Initially, Wang Gen Sheng was embarrassed and refused, but after Qin Huai played the old taste-testing card, saying it was more convenient to eat in the kitchen, and that if Uncle Wang felt the kitchen environment wasn't good and preferred to eat outside, he would understand, Wang Gen Sheng had no reason left to refuse.
And so, he delightedly, albeit a bit embarrassed and feeling slightly undeserving, started eating in the kitchen.
Ever since he began eating in the kitchen, Wang Gen Sheng wished he could spend 10 hours a day in the Yunzhong Restaurant's kitchen.
As a retired uncle, Wang Gen Sheng usually doesn't have much to do. His grandchildren don't need him to look after them, and he doesn't live with his children, who visit him and his wife on weekends.
His wife, tired of his repetitive stories and constant dwelling on the past, hardly wanted to return home. Now, eating in the kitchen, with the chatty companion Gong Liang, Wang Gen Sheng enjoys two pots of tea and several plates of snacks daily, wishing he could live in the kitchen.
Shi Dadan always ate in the kitchen whenever he had free time, and now with Gong Liang as a daily dining companion, Shi Dadan, following the principle of assisting wherever he can, also stays in the kitchen all day to accompany them.
As for Ouyang.
Ouyang has come to terms with it.
Ouyang, having succeeded in his first business venture, deeply felt that success brought little joy. Being exhausted every day from shaking bubble tea until his arms became muscular, he realized it brought nothing but cold hard cash. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
He handed over the drink recipes to the staff, became a hands-off shopkeeper, and, in a form of retaliation, squatted in the kitchen every day to gorge on snacks, stuffing himself (though still not out-eating Shi Dadan). Outsiders might think Ouyang was also there to accompany them in eating.
The group of four snacks-eaters spent their days in the kitchen corner, happily drinking tea, eating snacks, chatting, and having a blast. Zhao Cheng'an would join them during his idle hours, filling the air with laughter, making the elders sitting outside so envious their teeth almost itched.
Qin Huai thought that these four genuinely fell in love with sitting in the kitchen, turning it into a tea house. He didn't understand it but respected it.
Yet, among this group of souls, Ouyang seemed a bit odd.
"Zhao Cheng, do you really think Ouyang isn't a spirit?" Qin Huai asked.
"Trust me, Ouyang is definitely not, he's purely human," Zhao Cheng'an confidently replied. "Don't you think his mind is much more normal compared to ours?"
Qin Huai: …
"Alright then." Qin Huai was reluctantly convinced.
