Abnormal Gourmet Chronicle-Chapter 1087 - 529: Fox (2)
But being able to make Zhao Cheng'an stop slacking off, in a way, is worth celebrating. Qin Huai is considering whether to observe for a few more days. Once he confirms that Zhao Cheng'an really plans to work hard, he'll let him eat some sticky rice cake every day to help improve his culinary skills.
As for the amusement park membership card, Ouyang lived up to expectations and got it from his parents. Although Ouyang's parents love getting all sorts of cards, considering that Ouyang will end up taking them, having Ouyang's share means Qin Huai also has a share. So, Qin Huai didn't say much about it.
An Youyou was so thrilled upon receiving the annual card that she voluntarily worked an extra hour that day, and the whole Yunzhong Restaurant was engulfed in a workaholic atmosphere.
.
One ordinary afternoon when Qin Huai finished work and planned to go home to lie on the couch, play on his phone, then eat something before sleeping, Gong Liang suggested in the group chat that they should have a tea party at Luo Jun's house.
This was Gong Liang's first time actively suggesting a tea party.
Except for Qu Jing who couldn't make it due to a late shift, everyone else agreed readily, including Luo Jun.
Luo Jun has been pretty busy these past few days. Zhou Hu's efficiency is high, arranging different theater groups to audition at Luo Jun's place every day. Luo Jun has high requirements for the theater groups, needing to excel in both singing and posture. Zhou Hu arranged four theater groups in a row to audition but Luo Jun wasn't satisfied.
Back when Luo Jun was obsessed with watching theater in Shanghai, he only watched the top-tier groups. Even the one Liu Tao was associated with, which was said to be from the countryside, was recognized by Luo Jun only after gaining a certain reputation in Shanghai because of Liu Tao.
A theater group from the countryside able to sing in Shanghai back then and earn some fame is enough to prove their skills were good.
But the current theater groups really performing in the countryside couldn't impress Luo Jun.
However, although Luo Jun is a picky client, he is also generous and straightforward with payments. Since money is not an issue for Luo Jun, neither is the type of opera as long as it's performed well. Under this pressure, Zhou Hu immediately sought a theater group from out of town, fearing his slow actions would cause Luo Jun to pass away before seeing the complete proposal.
Upon meeting with Luo Jun, Zhou Hu subtly inquired about Luo Jun's life, interests, and age from Chen Huihong. Afraid of saying something wrong, Chen Huihong straightforwardly told Zhou Hu that although Luo Jun looks healthy, he is already 92 and likely won't survive this year unless he's lucky enough to live past the New Year.
Realizing the seriousness and urgency, Zhou Hu feared that any lack in efficiency would result in losing the big order before the customer sees the complete plan. He became diligent and committed, to say the least.
In a way, Zhou Hu and Luo Jun have been quite workaholics these past few days; perhaps it's just a workaholic mode.
Before going to Luo Jun's for the tea party, Qin Huai specifically opened the game panel to check his stats and confirmed he was only 9 points away from reaching Master Level in yeast. He calculated in his mind when he might complete these 9 points of Skill Level while heading to Luo Jun's, and how many A+ Level snacks could be made once reaching Master Level.
So, Qin Huai is now aiming to upgrade yeast to Master Level, but he feels that reaching Master Level in yeast doesn't mean the main quest can be completed.
There are simple snacks in Qin Huai's recipe section, but even simple snacks can't level up just by relying on a single skill unless the skill level is really high.
The only A+ Level snack Qin Huai has made so far is the guo'er he collaborated on with Huang Shengli, and he's aware of how difficult it is to make A+ Level snacks.
Of course, it's also possible he's the chosen one whose skill level upgrades rapidly, causing all snacks to surge to A+ Level.
That's how fantasy stories are written; never mind about logic. The protagonist's life doesn't need to adhere to logic.
As for whether Qin Huai is a fantasy-story protagonist…
Qin Huai refuses to answer that question. Anyway, he feels pretty much like a fantasy protagonist, more than Zhao Cheng'an and Tan Wei'an.
When Qin Huai arrived at Luo Jun's house, everyone was already there, including Zhao Cheng'an.
Due to being in workaholic mode, Qin Huai didn't leave work on time every day and mostly ended up making additional snacks. But this is Qin Huai's version of workaholic mode. Zhao Cheng'an's mode is about not leaving early, and as long as he's not slacking off, it's the greatest respect he can show towards work.
When Qin Huai walked in, Luo Jun was lounging in a bean bag chair looking at the funeral arrangements.
As a wealthy patron, Luo Jun didn't want to see design sketches, preferring to see the real setup. Zhou Hu was arranging funeral designs every day; just the fresh flower costs over these days could pay for a regular person's funeral. Luo Jun, however, wasn't satisfied, feeling he hadn't found his favorite arrangement yet and instructed Zhou Hu to keep trying different options.
If Zhou Hu and the florist shop owner were getting kickbacks from this, they'd have made a fortune by now.
"Mr. Gong, why did you suddenly think of hosting a tea party today?" Qin Huai asked as soon as he entered.
Gong Liang was sitting at the dining table drinking tea with Cheng Gong, and upon hearing Qin Huai's question, he smiled slightly, "It's because there's something to discuss with everyone."
"Are you planning a funeral, too?" Qin Huai boldly guessed.
Gong Liang shook his head with a laugh, poured Qin Huai a cup of tea, and motioned for him to sit down. While sitting, Qin Huai glanced towards the kitchen and noticed Zhao Cheng'an and Chen Huihong eating durian inside.
