Abyss Summoner-Chapter 57 - 55: Mourner
The forms of demons are varied, such as the two-headed Void Devil Dog, which roams the twisted void or the pathless wastelands like a hungry beast. Massive Abyss Demons and Hellfire, on the other hand, are mindless lumps fused with materials and evil energy by stronger, wiser demons.
The Abyss...
is a boundless exile realm; no one knows its size, just as no one can calculate how many wicked races dwell within it.
Undead creatures.
These are also species residing within the Abyss, with vampires, skeletons, zombies (distinct from the undead), and ghosts as the most representative types.
Undead creatures are considered special life forms born from the living’s attachment to the present world before death and unresolvable deep resentment.
Within the Abyss, there is a Bone Plain, also known as the City of the Dead, where the buildings resemble a cold cemetery.
Legions within the city include Demon Hunting Spiders, Blood Giants, and all types of Liches. Most ordinary soldiers are zombies, ghouls, corpse demons, and other dark-following decomposed corpses.
Do not think the undead creature population is singular; like other races, the undead also possess multiple elements—corpse soldiers, mummy soldiers, corrosion soldiers, skeleton soldiers, skeleton warriors, skeleton shooters, skeleton mages, skeleton swordsmen, demon dogs, spirit corpse dogs, bone dragons, corpse dragons.
This is a vast power, with even a long history of conquering several demon lands; the undead are not a race to be trifled with.
Slaughter.
They like to decorate their homes with bones and flesh.
A pale arm without a trace of the living’s breath; Chen Feng was certain that it was an undead creature.
The surroundings fell into a suffocating silence; even though the weather was not particularly cold, Chen Feng couldn’t help but shiver while standing there.
A moment later, a burly figure appeared before Chen Feng. It stood at 2.5 meters tall, like freshly unearthed blue stone, emanating a rock-like bulkiness and solidity. With iron arms and bronze fists, each muscle prominently bulging, it stood like a towering mountain, suffocatingly oppressive.
In its hand, it held an unrecognizable Bone Stick, which from its appearance seemed like a leg bone of some creature.
This appearance should have been that of a Warrior, yet the eerie aspect lay in its head...
Encircled by dense barbed wire, which tightly wrapped its entire head, not stopping there, three giant iron nails were driven into its neck, piercing through and even protruding from its spine.
A crimson eye peeked through the wire, bloodthirsty and filled with hatred. It was breathless, standing there like a statue, exuding a chilling aura.
Its muscles had already twisted by now, its single eye blankly vacant, while its lips strained tightly, releasing threads of filthy blood.
The Mourner.
One of the causes of undead life is unresolved deep resentment.
The Mourner is a relatively rare type of undead creature, possessing formidable combat skills and killing capabilities, its power rivaling that of Abomination Butchers and Evil Spirit Knights.
It endured a live sacrifice before its death.
The wounds on its body were the best evidence; people wrapped wire onto its face and drove three iron nails into its neck while it was alive.
Died in agony and despair.
Reborn with boundless resentment, yet this time fully transformed into a merciless Mourner. Its name was testament enough; this creature yearned for battle and brought death to its enemies.
They are adept at shattering enemy heads with fists and weapons; furthermore, the Mourner repulsed by this world would directly consume such rare nourishment.
The Mourner possesses the following traits: War Stomp, Immortal Body.
War Stomp: With a robust physique akin to a rock, its strength concentrates to a shocking degree, especially its leg power, ignoring defenses when it stomps.
Immortal Body: Extraordinary recovery ability, blood and flesh consumption can enhance recovery speed.
The Mourner wields silver strength, standing with surrounding deathly aura swirling just like ghosts roaring beside, brimming with terror.
Unlike the Inferior Demon and Dark Elf that showed hostile postures upon summoning, the Mourner merely stood quietly; it responded to the call and became Chen Feng’s loyal servant.
Warrior.
This is purely a Warrior.
The Bone Stick in its hand limits its capabilities; if replaced with a Steel Saber or a massive hammer, its strength would even increase by 20 to 30 percent.
Chen Feng extended his right hand, and a burning Longsword appeared in his palm. Raising the blade, he carved a distinct mark on the Mourner’s chest.
Label.
From today onward, the Mourner abandoned its once free life to kneel completely at Chen Feng’s feet, branded with the servant’s emblem; even in death, it would fight for Chen Feng to its last second.
Warrior’s spirit.
Compared to the Dark Elf, the Mourner carries some pre-death habits, loyalty.
It would not betray Chen Feng; the Mourner has already died once, and if one day it no longer fights for Chen Feng, there would be only one reason: total destruction of its body.
Close combat has always been Chen Feng’s weakness.
The Dark Elf excels in ranged assaults, while the Inferior Demon serves more as a damage-absorbing meat shield. Now, the arrival of the Mourner undoubtedly complemented Chen Feng’s inadequacy in close combat.
Chen Feng glanced at the Mourner’s simple weapon—a mere Bone Stick? Must admit, this was indeed too shabby...
Next, Chen Feng must strive to seek a weapon for the Mourner; although no forgers have yet emerged before the populace, at worst, at least a firefighting axe should suffice...
Once the battle begins.
With the Mourner charging at the front, the Dark Elf launching remote attacks from afar, and the Inferior Demon serving as an all-around meat shield beside, Chen Feng unknowingly has assembled a well-coordinated team.
For a Summoner, three servants already equip the potential for exploration and adventure...
