"Just a little more, the doctor will be here any moment now and weโ€™ll know the next way out," Gregory said to his wife. He sat next to his wife. Even though she smelled badly, he still endured.

Abby would do the same for him. So why wouldnโ€™t he care for her?

"How long Greg, Iโ€™m dying in pain. The pain is unbearable." Abby bit out.

"Just a little more. Chris is talking to them." Just as Greg finished speaking, Chris stepped into the room.

"Theyโ€™re on their way." He said calmly. Greg understood his sonโ€™s silence and led him to the next room. He knew they were coming wasnโ€™t the only thing Chris must have heard.

"What did they say, Chris?" Gregory asked once they were out of the room.

"The doctor asked me about the state of her injury and when I told him, he said the only solution was amputation. But he hopes it hasnโ€™t gotten further from how it was and that her legs are not already infected since she hasnโ€™t taken any treatment yet."

Gregory turned silent because everything the doctor had feared was exactly what was wrong with his wife. The bacteria had eaten deep in her legs. Deeper than it was a few weeks back.

Gregory was afraid Abbyโ€™s legs were already infected. The wound has been left exposed like that without any treatment for days now. It would be a miracle if it wasnโ€™t already infected.

"What do we do, I think itโ€™s infected already." Greg finally aired out his thoughts.

"Of course it is. Thatโ€™s why she smells. I hope everything goes well Father. I hope it hasnโ€™t got worse than it seems."

"Ahhhh... Oh oh oh oh Help me please!" Abby screamed from the pain she felt and both people rushed in to help her.

Other times, when she felt so much pain, it would go away for a few hours and then start again, but this time, it was too much to bear.

"Are you alright mother?" Chris asked but Abby only cried more. She was dying. The pain has become too much for her.

"Chris, if anything happens to me. Find any way you can to kill that madman. Thatโ€™s the only way you can live freely on earth. Iโ€™m sorry I had to put you through such a harsh life." Abby managed, panting gently.

"Youโ€™re not dying anytime soon mother. The doctors are almost here. Just hold on a little bit." Chris said calmly, but Abby shook her head. She had no idea she would be dying anytime soon, but here she was.

She was going to die without fulfilling anything she wanted to. She wouldnโ€™t see her grandchildren just as she had planned.

All these wouldnโ€™t be happening if she hadnโ€™t agreed to that manโ€™s plans that day. They wouldnโ€™t have been kicked out of the Adkins mansion and Chris wouldnโ€™t be running for his life right now.

They should have only focused on manipulating Penny into giving Osvaldoโ€™s money to them.

That stupid fat pig. Sheโ€™s the reason for their downfall. Now she wants to act all nice and beautiful after turning them all fat. Their lives have not been the same since.

Not only had the Petersons become an object of mockery and ridicule, but they were cast aside too.

"I wish I could be given a second chance to see my grandchildren," Abby said, tears rolling from the side of her face.

"You will see them. All you have to do is be strong for them." Chris didnโ€™t like that his mother was scaring him like this. She wouldnโ€™t die, he would never allow it. His mother had so much life in her to die like this.

"Your legs might not even get amputated. That depends on the doctor." Chris tried to encourage her. Maybe she thought of dying because they were going to cut off her legs. Maybe if he encouraged her a little, then everything would be fine.

"Iโ€™m trying Chris," Abby said softly. "Iโ€™m really trying. But Iโ€™m scared too." She said lifting her hands to his cheek.

"Iโ€™m not just scared of not seeing my grandchildren, but Iโ€™m scared of leaving you. I donโ€™t want anyone to hurt you." Abby said turning to Gregory who stood at a corner watching them.

He was used to her death talks by now. Sheโ€™s been on it since she fell sick again and he understands. But this little pain, was not enough reason his wife would choose to die.

Gregory has tried talking her out of it but couldnโ€™t. So he let her say whatever.

"Donโ€™t let Chris step out till youโ€™re sure theyโ€™re no longer after him," Abby said.

"If Iโ€™m not mistaken, Chris is an adult now. if you want him alive, then you must fight to stay alive amputated or not." Greg said. He had told her when it wasnโ€™t this bad to amputate the leg before it got worse, but Abby had been stubborn.

All she thought about was what people had to say about them. No look at where that has brought her to.

When the doctor finally arrived Chris and Greg had left the room to Abbyโ€™s screams as he examined her.

They waited a couple of minutes and then he was finally out.

"How is she doing doctor?" Both men rushed towards him and the man sighed.

"I had initiated the amputation long before now, why did you hesitate to comply?" He asked.

"Like I said before, Miss Peterson has a sickness whose cure is yet to be found. It would take a miracle for her to survive like this and a miracle for her to live after the amputation." He said.

"The open skin caused by the excessive scratching has been infected with bacteria. She needs care now more than ever." He said.

"How do we get the leg cut off before further problems occur again?" Gregory asked.

"Sheโ€™ll be admitted to the hospital today and weโ€™ll continue the treatment from there." Chris frowned at the manโ€™s words.

Everything happening to his mother is the Madmanโ€™s fault. Not only had they been chased from their rightful home, but he could no longer work to assist his family anymore all because of a stupid bounty in his head.

He needed to visit the madman. He knew every corner of the mansion, heโ€™d do a clean job.
