Chapter 277: The Grand Seclusion

[Ming Tianmei: This is a prerecorded message.]

[Ming Tianmei: According to my calculations, it is now time for a grand retreat (seclusion) all across the sect. So I assumed you, too, would enter seclusion. Anyways, I am entering seclusion now, so goodbye for now...]

[Yu Xuan: Goodbye, for now...]

Yu Xuan stared at the message.

Read it twice.

Then once more.

"...She prerecorded it?"

Apparently Ming Tianmei had even predicted the exact hour he would message her.

And she was already gone.

’I seriously need to learn divination.’ Yu Xuan thought with a twitching eye.

Just then, another message popped up.

It was from his sister.

[Greatest In The Heavens: The Old Woman said that I too, am being Peaked. But your birthday...]

[Yu Xuan: It’s fine. We can celebrate next year.]

[Greatest In The Heavens: Okwy, see you soon...]

Then the group chat [Yu Clan’s Prodigies] exploded.

[Yu Clan’s Prodigies]

[Greatest In The Heavens: Official retreat.]

[Ming Tianmei: Official retreat.]

[Hard Working Fan: Me too. Officially retreated.]

[The Sword God: Young man, do you want sword techniques? If so, send some sect points...]

Yu Xuan’s eyebrow twitched.

Hard Working Fan was Lin Fan, the reincarnated Gaialing with his budget SNS System.

The Sword God was Mo Lin, the boy whose sword was technically a grandmother spirit.

The chat continued chaotically.

[Yu Zhen: For spreading such misinformation, Mo Lin, you are under arrest.]

[Yu Xueqing: Mo Lin, your senior sister is searching for you.]

[The Sword God: I am already in seclusion...]

[Yu Bo: Anyone wants talismans? Contact me. I’ll give a discount.]

[Yu Hao: I will contact one year later...]

Yu Xuan exhaled and rubbed his temples.

Yu Zhen had apparently joined the Order Heaven Peak and gained a new "cop" personality.

Yu Bo was in the Myriad Path Peak and already turning into a merchant.

Yu Xueqing, Yu Hao, Lin Fan, and Mo Lin were grouped together at Martial Heaven Peak.

Everything seemed normal.

Except—

None of them mentioned his actions.

’Does no one know about my deeds?’ Yu Xuan wondered.

He thought the Martial Ancestor’s legacy would have caused a sensation.

Little did he know—

His face was currently the most viewed, most gossiped about, and most meme’d in the entire Elemental Heaven Peak... and was most notorious among the upper ranks of Martial Heaven Peak.

Yu Xuan was simply blissfully unaware.

Because he never checks the local gossip channels.

After chatting for a few minutes, Yu Xuan finally closed the medallion.

"Huu..." he exhaled softly.

The time of retreat had come.

A year of isolation.

A year of change.

A year of pressure from all sides.

He needed to be prepared for the storms awaiting him.

Yu Xuan sat quietly, the two caterpillars curled on his head and forehead, until his master returned.

He will emerge, stronger than ever.

Within the blink of an eye, an entire year passed.

Yet it was a year that left its mark.

Across the sect, the heavens cycled through their seasons with an almost exaggerated grandeur, as if sensing the shift of destiny approaching.

Spring arrived like a rebirth of the world, peach blossoms blooming in waves across the mountain ranges, their petals dancing through the air like tiny spirit butterflies. The rivers, nourished by spiritual veins, shimmered with new life while cultivators meditated beneath flowering trees.

Summer followed in blazing brilliance. The sun hung high like a molten golden disk, saturating the sect with scorching yang energy. Spirit beasts roared joyfully, lightning storms brewed above the peaks, and disciples cultivated shirtless (some shamelessly) as the world itself seemed eager to push them forward.

Autumn descended with gentle melancholy. Scarlet and gold leaves fell like drifting embers, carrying faint Dao rhythms. Pill furnaces burned day and night as disciples perfected breakthroughs, while the crisp wind carried both tranquility and subtle tension — the calm before winter’s sharpening blade.

Then Winter arrived, silent yet awe-inspiring. Frost coated the mountains in silver-white radiance, and the sect glowed like an immortal ice palace. Cold spiritual qi thickened the air, slowing the world while sharpening perception. Snow fell softly onto roofs, muffling all sound as if the heavens themselves held their breath.

It was beautiful.

It was change.

But beauty did not come alone.

One by one, Elders who had long remained hidden reappeared, standing atop peaks or floating in the skies to give open lectures that shook the hearts of disciples.

Their topics were strange — survival, studies of hostile energies, and warning signs and finally insights into cultivation and Dao.

Many disciples were advised, or even ordered, to enter seclusion, pushing their cultivation to the limit.

Prices of resources plummeted across the sect — a silent acknowledgment that the sect needed its disciples stronger, faster, now.

And then the truth had been announced:

They were preparing to face the Fallen Heavens.

The disciples of the Immortal Realm understood the implication, but for the Lower Realm disciples, the term was unfamiliar and foreign.

Then, the Truth was release for all the Disciples.

Stories resurfaced. As true information was released about the Fallen Heavens.

The reaction of the Disciples were, caution mixed with determination in equal measure.

Still, none of them slacked.

After all, everyone chosen to be here was a genius among geniuses.

Tribulation clouds filled the skies with never-ending flashes of lightning as breakthroughs erupted across the sect. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Every week, another peak shook, another disciple screamed through heavenly tribulation, another talent soared forward.

It was prosperity, radiant and terrifying.

But, prosperity was only the silence before a storm.

Darkness slowly crept across the sky, so subtle at first that no one noticed. But eventually, everyone saw it.

Above the heavens, gates began to manifest.

Massive, ominous structures like ethereal portals, each one glowing with the aura of an unfamiliar world.

This phenomenon confused even disciples from the Immortal Realms.

When the Fallen Heavens attacked there, they did not use gates like these.

Only one conclusion remained:

This was happening because they were in the Lower Realms.

A different battlefield.

Different rules.

Different dangers.

And now, gates were opening.

The storm was truly coming.

[A/N]: With this Chapter, [Vol 2. Heaven Immortal Sect] comes to a close! I’ll be taking a short two-day break, and then we’ll jump straight into [Vol 3. The Fallen Heavens].

Many early readers mentioned that the start had fewer action scenes and more slice of life. Since those Chapters are already published and tie into the overall pacing, I won’t be making changes to them, but I appreciate the feedback and wanted to acknowledge it.

The next volume has plenty of action coming your way.

If you’re enjoying the story so far, feel free to drop a review or share your thoughts (maybe even a gift). We’ve still got a long journey ahead!
