Accidentally Reincarnated in Cultivation World-Chapter 358: DARE—!
Xie Zhi lowered his gaze to the pendant resting in his palm.
Its surface shimmered faintly, threads of karma weaving and tightening, responding to something far beyond the Great Ascension Continent.
The first phase of their plan had succeeded.
They, the true powers of the Immortal Realms could not openly stoop to killing a junior.
Not only would it be beneath them, but the particular junior in question was troublesome.
Protected.
Watched.
And very likely backed by forces that even they would rather not provoke prematurely.
So they had chosen a cleaner path.
A karmic path.
Their strategy had been simple and cruel.
Establish a deep karmic link with the disciple of the Martial Ancestor.
Once both sides, the Fallen Heavens and the Heaven Immortal Sect, returned to the Immortal Realm, that link would become a beacon.
And with it, Yu Xuan’s location in the Lower Realm could be precisely tracked and transmitted.
Then, even if it meant overturning an entire Lower Realm, he could be erased.
The Heavenly Demons already controlled several Lower Realms. Mobilizing one, or all of them was merely a matter of convenience.
Naturally, someone had to descend to anchor that karma, because they are heavily restricted in the Lower Realms.
And the one dragged into that role was Wan Shou.
He alone was an unfortunate one!
Though Ancestor Wan had his own reasons for allowing Wan Shou to descend, this had always been Xie Zhi’s original design.
Now, as Xie Zhi felt the faint pulse of karma within the pendant, he knew the first step was complete.
"The first phase is done," he murmured softly, a smile spreading across his face.
"Now... we simply need wait for the future."
Ancestor Wan let out a low chuckle.
"What an unfortunate bastard his disciple is," he muttered, satisfaction flickering in his eyes.
"I still remember the fate of his previous disciple."
Long schemes were his specialty.
After a pause, his expression shifted.
"How about I give him a little surprise?" Ancestor Wan said idly.
The pendant vanished from Xie Zhi’s hand and reappeared in Ancestor Wan’s.
Xie Zhi did not react to the rude gesture, but his eyes narrowed slightly.
"That would be unwise," he said calmly.
"The other side will likely retaliate and when they do... you know what I mean right?"
Ancestor Wan laughed.
"Hey God-Weeping, I won the game," he replied lightly, gesturing toward the slaughter board.
"Do you not think this is an appropriate reward?"
His voice grew heavier.
"After all, I even allowed Wan Shou to participate in your hunt."
The God-Weeping Sovereign sighed.
Though Ten Thousand Eye Horror was weaker than him, he remained one of the many pillars of the Heavenly Demons – an existence not easily offended, let alone denied. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Though he could do that, he was simply not in the mood for it, and he too decided to test the waters.
"...Alright," he said at last.
Ancestor Wan smiled.
Closing his eyes, his consciousness flowed into the pendant, following the karmic thread.
A vision formed.
Yu Xuan, suddenly deploying layer after layer of life-saving techniques, instincts flaring faster than thought itself.
Ancestor Wan’s eyes opened, a trace of genuine admiration crossing his face.
’What remarkable instincts, this child truly is dangerous.’ he thought.
He felt that it was a pity, that this child was not born within his bloodline.
Across from him, the God-Weeping Sovereign rose to his feet.
He was already preparing countermeasures, informing old allies, and laying groundwork for what would inevitably follow.
Because he knew.
The retaliation would be immense.
He sighed once more, swearing silently to himself.
’Never again will I lose the game of slaughter to anyone.’
***
The space above Yu Xuan’s head shattered without warning.
A gaze descended from an unknown origin, locking onto him with terrifying precision.
In that instant, Yu Xuan felt an immense pressure crash down upon his existence, so heavy that even breathing became impossible for a brief moment.
His blood froze, his instincts screaming as that gaze scrutinized him layer by layer, inside and out.
Then.
From the fractured void, a single dark-blue eye manifested.
It was the Eye of Destruction of Ancestor Wan.
He was not called the Ten Thousand Eye Horror for no reason.
Without hesitation, a beam condensed within that eye – a line of pure annihilation, carrying the unmistakable intent to erase Yu Xuan from existence itself.
The beam fired.
Just before it could strike the outermost barrier.
The world changed.
Yu Xuan’s master moved.
Time within the entire gate slowed abruptly, as though reality was being played at a trillionth of its original speed.
Yu Xuan could perceive the beam slowing, he could even see its structure unraveling through his heightened senses which were being more heightened as death was near him.
But it was still far too fast for him to evade.
Then.
His mother moved.
She raised her hand gently, as if brushing away dust.
And something impossible happened.
The beam of destruction, an attack that carried the essence of destruction collapsed into nothingness.
It disintegrated into fine motes, fading away as though it had never existed in the first place, as if reality was replaced by an Illusion.
But that did not end there.
Another beam formed instantly.
In that fleeting interval, Yu Xuan was wrapped in even more layers of protection.
His master carved formations directly from the surrounding reality, drawing upon all five elements, binding them with space itself, forging multiple barriers.
Then the eye darkened further.
The pressure intensified.
The shattered void trembled as the presence behind that eye grew colder.
This time, a black beam descended from the eye.
Unlike the previous attack, it shattered the Laws of Time themselves, tearing through the temporal suppression that had slowed everything within the gate.
Huan Lianhua, Yu Xuan’s mother, moved instantly.
Her figure flashed forward, intercepting the beam with all her might.
Radiant power surged as she tried to erase that attack.
But this time... she failed.
The black beam tore through her defenses, forcing her back.
Yet her intervention was not in vain.
In that fleeting instant, an opening appeared, accompanied by a voice outside the gate that shook the surrounding Lower Realms to their very foundation.
"DARE—!"
