Chapter 109: Chapter 108: The Oolong Incident

Robber Hao recounted the incident, leaving Qu Chaozong speechless. He put his arm around Zhao Meimei’s shoulder and asked, "Can we leave now?"

Just as he finished asking, a middle-aged woman rushed into the office from outside. She was the parent of the tall, skinny girl from class six, and as soon as she entered, everything turned chaotic.

The middle-aged woman glanced at her daughter and let out a heart-wrenching scream, then dramatically hugged the girl, shouting at the top of her lungs.

Even the experienced dean and several teachers were startled and quickly stepped forward to intervene.

The middle-aged woman shouted furiously, "Who!? Who hit my daughter!"

At times like this, anyone with a bit of sense wouldn’t step forward, but Zhang Zhao was clearly an exception, often causing trouble. So he stepped up and said, "I hit her."

The middle-aged woman leaped up, screaming, "Why did you hit my daughter!" With that, she was about to rush at Zhang Zhao.

The teachers became frantic and hurriedly tried to break up the situation.

Zhang Zhao’s face remained expressionless, but his eyes carried a hint of irritation. He glanced at the middle-aged woman coldly and didn’t even move, speaking with disdain, "Because your daughter stole money from my classmate and hit people."

The middle-aged woman paused for a moment before jumping and yelling, "Impossible!"

The middle-aged woman’s sudden outburst was so abrupt that the teachers blocking her didn’t have time to stop her.

As the middle-aged woman raised her hand to slap Zhang Zhao, Zhang Xin suddenly stepped forward, blocking him. Seeing the fat hand descending swiftly, a strong hand tightly grasped the woman’s arm.

Zhang Xin’s long lashes trembled as she looked at the tall figure in front of her. His white shirt was soaked and clung to his back, revealing strong and powerful lines, his arm bent, muscles tense with veins visible beneath his shaggy hair.

Watching the lightly pulsating veins, Zhang Xin’s heart suddenly shook, her heartbeat rhythm thrown into chaos.

Qu Chaozong, filled with anger, finally vented it out at this moment, shouting, "Haven’t you had enough?" The authoritative tone he often used at the company now held considerable intimidation.

The middle-aged woman paused in shock, and Qu Chaozong tossed aside her hand, saying, "Doesn’t your daughter have a mouth? Can’t you ask her yourself if she stole money from classmates? In a room full of people, including teachers and classmates, is everyone ganging up on your daughter? If that’s the case, your daughter certainly knows how to make trouble!"

Qu Chaozong frowned, his face darkening, "You as a mother are really something, acting like this as a parent? You cause a fuss without understanding what’s right or wrong. Even if you lack manners, you shouldn’t behave like this with the teachers in the school! Does your daughter still want to study here in the future?

Qu Chaozong rubbed his face, stopping himself from uttering a curse, his gaze icy as he faced the middle-aged woman, "I advise you not to lose your temper now. See what your child did to bully others, and when her parents arrive later, you better think about how to explain it to them!"

With a few words, Qu Chaozong managed to leave the middle-aged woman speechless.

The dean, seeing the situation calming down, quickly took the opportunity to explain what happened. Knowing the middle-aged woman was unreasonable, the dean couldn’t be bothered to speak much with her.

With the matter unresolved, Qu Chaozong didn’t leave. Seeing others busy, he decided to pull Zhao Meimei aside to call Shi Yang.

The phone was answered almost immediately after dialing.

Shi Yang’s anxious voice came through, "Hello? Chaozi! How’s Meimei?"

Qu Chaozong smirked, "She’s fine, let me hand the phone to her."

Holding the phone, Zhao Meimei didn’t feel much up until now, but upon hearing her Brother Yangyang’s voice, she immediately felt aggrieved, "Brother!"

Shi Yang: "Are you alright? What happened?"

Zhao Meimei hurriedly recounted the incident, allowing Shi Yang’s suspended concern to finally ease. He took a deep breath, resting his hand on the steering wheel, relaxing completely.

He leaned back in the car seat, one foot on the gas, extending the other forward.

Shi Yang listened to Zhao Meimei’s voice over the phone, his tongue tied in knots, unable to say a word, he quietly listened, trying to calm his heart tightened with worry. After pausing, he finally said, "It’s good that everyone’s okay. Are you really alright?"

Zhao Meimei quickly replied, "I’m really fine."

The breath Shi Yang was holding dispersed with mixed amusement and relief. After hanging up the phone, he glanced at the scenery outside the window, realizing he was already on the highway, and couldn’t make a U-turn.

Shi Yang slapped the steering wheel with a sigh, deciding to just go home. He originally planned to buy some specialty products as gifts, but that would have to wait for next time.

When Qu Chaozong felt his brain nearing explosion, the conflict finally settled down. He didn’t pay attention to how it was resolved, only heard they could leave, and quickly took Zhao Meimei back to her class.

Standing at the classroom door, Zhao Meimei apologized, "Brother Chao, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault. I didn’t explain it clearly over the phone, and I scared you all."

Qu Chaozong sighed deeply, "I’m fine, I just rushed over from the company. Your brother had it worse; he drove straight from the provincial capital onto the highway. He probably couldn’t get anything done before having to turn back."

Upon hearing this, Zhao Meimei felt even more guilty, but alongside the guilt, she couldn’t help but feel a bit of joy knowing her Brother Yangyang would drop everything for her. That complex feeling, sour yet sweet, filled her heart.

Qu Chaozong patted her head, "Alright, go back to class and concentrate on your studies. Don’t overthink it, your brother’s situation is fine now."

Zhao Meimei nodded and returned to her class.

Leaving wasn’t as urgent for Qu Chaozong so he went to the restroom, relieved himself, tidied his nest-like hair in front of the mirror, fixed his tie, and only then felt satisfied to turn and leave.

Exiting the school gates, he took a look around and found that the large Mercedes that parked behind him was gone, letting out a sigh of relief, he opened the car door, started the engine, and called Shi Yang, intending to discuss the rollercoaster of emotions and tease him a little.

Qu Chaozong made a turn, parked the car beside the road, stretched lazily, and adjusted to a comfortable position to chat on the phone. Just as he extended his arm and began to yawn, the car suddenly jolted forward slightly, not much, but the dull sound of the collision still pierced his eardrums instantly.
