Adored Wild Sixth Miss, Even the Ice-Lord Loses Control-Chapter 547: She’d Listen to Damian Quinn If Not You
"Serena, you’ve worked so hard."
Steven Everett raised his hand and gently ruffled the girl’s hair, his eyes full of tenderness and concern.
The rapid progress in vaccine research was all thanks to his precious sister’s efforts!
But it had been so exhausting for her...
He then bent over and gave a deep bow to The Wanderer.
"Elder Vaughn, you’ve worked hard too."
The Wanderer waved his hand, "This is what we ought to do!"
Seeing the exhaustion written all over his face, Steven respectfully said, "Now that the vaccine is ready, the remaining live trials can be handled by Minister Hart and his team. I’ll arrange for someone to take you home for a proper rest. How does that sound?"
The Wanderer, being older, couldn’t handle the intense work over the past few days alongside Serena. He nodded in agreement upon hearing this.
"Alright, I’ll follow your arrangement."
Steven was efficient in his work. After sending off The Wanderer and his companions, he went back to Serena.
Seeing his precious sister looking even thinner than before, Steven’s heart ached visibly.
"Serena, shall I take you home?"
Serena instantly refused, "No need, Second Brother, you should attend to your work."
She was planning to go to the X Potion research lab. She had been busy with the vaccine research these days and hadn’t been there, leaving Elder Montague to handle it all alone.
She had to check in to feel assured.
"Serena, do you have other matters to attend to? If they’re not urgent, go home and rest first, and deal with them after that. If it’s important, tell your Second Brother, and I’ll handle it for you."
Serena: "..."
She couldn’t let them know about the X Potion...
Seeing her silence, Steven chuckled and ruffled her hair affectionately.
"What are you hiding from your Second Brother?"
Serena pressed her lips firmly together.
She didn’t actually want to hide anything from them, but telling them before developing the antidote would only worry them.
"Hmm?" Watching the girl’s expression, Steven sensed something, "Are you really keeping something from your Second Brother?"
Serena cleared her throat, attempting to change the subject.
But Steven didn’t give her the chance, locking eyes with her intently.
"Second Brother hopes you won’t hide anything from us, Serena, remember we’re family..."
"Second Brother."
A low, magnetic voice suddenly spoke, and a cold, noble man walked in.
Damian Quinn’s arrival provided timely relief for Serena.
Seeing Damian suddenly appear, Steven frowned, "Why are you here?"
"Here to pick up Serena." Damian had a faint smile on his lips, "Don’t worry, Second Brother, I’ll make sure Serena gets the rest she needs."
Steven nodded in satisfaction at this, looking at Serena, "With him watching over you, I can rest easy."
After all, his precious sister wouldn’t listen to him, but could she ignore Damian Quinn’s words?
If Damian knew Steven’s thoughts at this moment, he would definitely tell him he had overestimated his standing in the family. When it came to his little sister, it was always he who listened to her.
Serena sighed, "Got it, Second Brother, you should get back to work!"
Steven indeed had a lot to handle, with many matters awaiting his attention, so he nodded, "Alright, Second Brother is leaving! Serena, make sure to rest well!"
Watching Steven leave, the man then led Serena to the car.
"Master Damian, are we heading back to Rosewood Manor?"
Chase Sherman in the driver’s seat asked respectfully.
Damian nodded, "Yes..."
Before he could finish speaking, Serena interrupted without hesitation.
"No, to the laboratory."
