Chapter 206: Adventures Guild

After leaving the magic shop the girls eventually managed to find themselves outside of the Adventures Guild, they only got lost a single time which they felt quite proud about.

The Guild hall itself was a grand building. It lorded over this section of the street with large columns framing the large double door that led into the building.

A steady stream of people entered and exited through said doors, each one of them dressed in armour and carrying weapons, except for the mages who wore robes and carried staffs or wands.

The vast majority of those who entered seemed to be of low level, not even in tier 3 yet. The girls did spot a single fellow Lord enter as they observed the building from outside.

Soon enough the girls wandered into the building. They were met with a large central space, a smattering of tables and benches were off to one side of the room, with what looked like a bar counter that was serving drinks to the waiting adventures.

To the other side of the hall, was a row of desks, behind which sat the guild employees in a smart uniform. A few adventures lined up to speak to the employees, most with a slip of paper in their hands.

Against the far wall was a couple of doors at each side of the room, along with several large boards on the wall, each on with numerous notices pinned to the boards.

A lively atmosphere filled the room, helped by the noise of the adventures at the bar causing the space to feel both welcoming and important with its grand size.

Slightly unsure of what they were expected to do here they decided to join the line of people waiting to speak to one of the employees behind the desks.

Thanksfill thst did not take them too long before they were gestured forward towards a beastkin man. "Welcome to the Guild, how can I help you today?" He drawled out, seemingly already tired despite it only being around midday.

Violet spoke up, her usual cheer seemingly causing the man to flinch slightly. "Hello! We want to be adventures and go into the new dungeon!"

He blinked up at the girls for a moment before nodding. "Very well, you will have to pass a small test if you want to join. Only if you pass the test will you be allowed in. What tier are you all in?"

"We are all tier 4 in the early stages." Violet readily supplied. That did seem to surprise the man slightly, causing him to sit up just a touch straighter. Still his tone did not change. "Very well, please head through that door there, one of our senior instructors will be through shortly to administer your tests."

With that he lowered his head and began filling out some forms in front of him. Taking the dismissal for what it was, the girls headed towards the door that he gestured at, pushing it open to find themselves in a waiting room of sorts.

A couple of benches lay against one wall, with 2 separate doors, one on the back wall and one opposite the wall hosting the benches.

Moving to the benches Susan wondered aloud. "Wonder how long we will have to wait for. Also should t we have needed to give that man our names or something?"

Before anyone could respond however the door opposite them opened up welcoming in a familiar figure. He was a giant of a man, hardly even fitting through the door and being forced to duck to walk through it.

When he laid eyes on the girls he let out a raucous belly laugh that slightly shook the ground with its force. "Bwahahaha! Well if it isn’t little Luna! And friends! Wait your the one who came second in the tournament ain’t you?" The last part directed at Violet who just nodded before he continued speaking.

"Bwahaha! Well I knew that I said that I wanted a rematch but I didn’t think i would get a chance to have it so soon! Good good!"

"Umm, you are the instructor that will be testing us?" Luna asked the giant of a man.

"That I am! Instructor Kaldor at your service, I shall be the one to ensure that you meet the qualifications to join the guild. Not that I think you ladies lack that given your placement on the tournament, but regulations tell me it needs to be done."

"Umm okay, how will you be testing us?" Violet asked the boisterous man.

"Oh it is quite simple really, you attack me for a minute whilst I defend, then I in turn attack you for a minute whilst you defend. Based on how you perform, or if you manage to incapacitate me within the first minute I will either pass or fail you." He smiled as he spoke, clearly he enjoyed this aspect of his job.

"So with that said, we need to go over the formalities first before we get to the fun stuff! So I will need each of you to introduce yourselves, your name, speciality and what role you tend to fill."

Luna briefly glanced over at Violet and then spoke up. "What if we don’t want to say our speciality? Also what do you mean by what role we fill?"

"Ahh that is surprisingly common, some people like to keep their secrets I must admit, in that case I will ask that you give a generic speciality that mostly resembles your own. As for your roll, that is simple. Are you a front line fighter? A supportive mage? A damaging mage? That sort of thing, any more questions?" Kaldor explained to the girls.

They looked at one another for a moment, all of them seeming to understand the instructions. "I’ll go first, my name is Susan, I have water speciality. I primarily focus on magical support and healing, with some area control."

Luna opted to go next. "I’m Luna, ice speciality, and I suppose I’m a mix of magic and mele, but not the type to stand still and trade blows?" Getting a nod from the man she didn’t elaborate further.

"I’m Rhyana, lightning speciality, I am much the same as Luna, mele focused with some self buffing magics."

"And I am Violet! I have an arcane speciality. Mainly focus on ranged magical damage, but can fight up close if needed but I’m better at range."

Kaldor made some quick notes on a pad of paper that he was holding as they all spoke, once he was done he tucked the paper under one arm and spoke. "Well good to properly meet you all. Now please follow me and I shall take you through your combat assessment." With that he turned to the other door that he hadn’t walked out of and pulled it open.

He gestured them all to follow in behind him as he stepped through.

Following behind the man, the girls found themselves in a arena of sorts that quite reminded Violet and Luna of the colosseum. It was a fairly large square arena with a sand covered ground. Runic symbols covered the walls, each rune glowed with powerful magics.

Kaldor first placed the notepad down to one side of the door before he walked into the center of the arena. There he turned around to face the girls.

"Now who will be up first?"
